Oops! For the retention on the sheath you can wrap the knife in saran wrap then soak the sheath in water, put the knife back in sheath and form. Great review definitely a knife on my radar. Thanks brother

In addition to waterforming it, warm the leather and rub beeswax into it. It will firm it up and really hold it in.

Remind me never to loan you a knife! Seriously though great review, Jack!! You absolutely do the best test and review that I've ever seen! You give the consumer every bit of information they need to make an informed purchase and you make it entertaining!! Thank you for sharing, brother!!

    Thanks Jack.
Very good. That intro, is some funny stuff!
"Let's stop him, before he gets hurt". We laughed out loud.

Your tip story, reminds me a little of something that happened to me recently.
People are always asking me what I'm carrying today. A couple of weeks ago, when this happened. In the office, I was showing a guy my knife. I was in his office, so he was sitting down, and I was standing up. He asked to see what I was carrying. So I got it out, and opened it up for him. I then fumbled the knife, after opening, and dropped it. It landed straight down, tip into the floor. A carpeted floor, with padding, and a concrete foundation under that. I watched it as it fell, and stab into the floor. It remained stuck in the floor, as I reached over to pick it up, and pull it out. Just I was about to grab it. It fell over and snapped the tip right off! You should have seen the look on my face : - /
It was a Real Steel H6-S1 in 14C28N steel.

Hi Jack, this is a opportunity to test Esse's warranty. They will replace the sheath and re-profile the edge unless you insist that the sheath's retention was flawed and you want the knife replaced. excellent video.

When you get a loose sheath like that they are meant to be form fitted by the owner . Some like to oil also before form fitting . It’s one of those great deals with a leather sheath like that it lets you do the final step however you want as far as tightness or modifying the leather if you so choose .

Cute knife bro... But seriously, I would be happy to have one in my kit. Great production mate. Fun and informative as always.

That’s a handy knife to edc. I hope they improve the retention on the sheath. Nice review 👍

The sheath is meant to be form fitted in water and oil if you want to do it . That’s why you have extra room on the cutting side of the sheath where the blade sits. A lot of people are very picky about the first set and retention and don’t want someone else to do it for them . Or they just go with Kydex .

Nice review man. Not a knife I'd be likely to buy personally but still a good blade

The retention stinks..was going to suggest wet forming the sheath, but I see Blue Collar Survival already covered that. The point damage is no big deal..it should sharpen right out without a lot of problems. Looks like a good companion blade, or a small main belt knife, if that's your preference, and if you can work with that retention problem. In today's super steel craze, 1095 gets overlooked, but it's still a good steel, that has done the job for many years. It's easy to sharpen, is a pretty tough steel, and it's usually a lot less money.
Good review. I like fixed blades too, so appreciate your throwing one in once in awhile. If it's sharp and pointy, then I am interested, lol.

The last knife I dropped tip down was a PM2. Luckily the tip was fine as I was lying in bed and dropped it on my belly. No knife damage at all. 😵
