    I used to write on sticky notes and put them in my Bible. Not only with notes as you've described but also to say, "This stood out to me when I was struggling with physical pain." and a date. I still do that. But now instead of putting notes about Agrippa or themes, etc., in my Bible (or in addition to highlighting in my Bible) I also have a word document saved on a flashdrive where I keeps notes about topics: Colossians, discipline, legalism, to name a few. The benefits of this include: (1) I can highlight, bold, and change font and (2) when I come back later I can do a word search and word will highlight all of the places I've written "Pharisees" for instance. I learned in college that highlighting alone just means that over time everything is highlighted, and that doesn't help! :)

    I’ve been taking notes and highlighting and underlining and cross-referencing and drawing and squiggling in my Bibles for years now and this is the first time I’ve ever seen someone give advice on how to do personal Bible notations in an organized thoughtful way. I just began notations et al in this new Bible a couple years ago. The Bible I had prior to this (used for about 10+ years) got retired from all the drawings and notes etc. I would have LOVED to have seen your Bible (with its new binding-LOVE IT) years ago!! But I am learning, it’s never too late! My Bible already weighs SO much, but I have only just begun!! And now I’m learning this new method so I am PUMPED!

    I loved this so much! (Except for your sweatshirt...Redskins fan here....I still have one of my dad`s old t-shirts that says `I root for the Redskins, or whoever is playing Dallas` lol 🤣) Anyway, I just love this different perspective on sermon note taking! I oftentimes will underline something that stands out in the sermon, but you are so right that it's easy to forget why that stood out if you don't write more detail next to what you underlined! I just love your videos! ❤

    I am starting the new testament next year. I have scriptures in one smaller bible for a sort scripture notebook. Cause I don't want to write in my big bible. I tried color coding at the beginning of my scripture studies. But would forget what the colors stood for. I tried writing down all the verses. Moved and could find the notebook anymore. I don't color in things cause it makes it hard to read the words for me. Sometimes the thing used would show through. So then I started using just a pencil. Squaring off whole verses, making notes, starring the top of whole chapters, or just underlinng sentences or specific words. But sometimes would go back and look at my notes bible and discover I already had it done. So don't need to do.
    Which gave me an idea. Next year I am making a list of the scriptures that I have boxed off, underlined sentences, or just the words in the verse that standout, or write something I wrote in the bible, went back and underlined in something that I already squared off. I'm putting a heart by the new ones. And putting a date by the ones. So at the end of the year I can look back at all the new things that touched me. And as a reference guide for myself for my own scriptures. Really excited now to have this bible list I can go back and make notes to why that verse as well. So I have my own personalized scripture reference guide of words and verses especially meant just for me. Because I was the one who made them. Have a great Christmas. Keep wonderful, prayerful, and spreading his word. You're answering his call greatly.

      Father, Thank You for Keri! Thank You that You know all about this life and the issues and problems that are being faced. You know everything that needs to be done, how, where, when and by whom. Thank You for providing divine connections. Release Your favor and goodness into every situation Keri is facing. Saturate this body with Your healing, redemptive power. Mend what is broken or damaged, heal what is disordered and cause this body to function with excellence, unto Your praise and glory. Bring rest, relief and deliverance from all pain and discomfort. Replace tears of anguish with shouts of joy. Release Your miracle working power and let Your Name be lifted up and glorified. Thank You for Your blessing, faithfulness, grace, mercy, salvation and care over Keri's life on a whole. Thank You that every aspect of it is under Your control even when it seems otherwise. Thank You for all that You have done and all You are doing. Victory not defeat is Keri's portion in Jesus Name with Thanksgiving. Amen & Amen✨

    When I read books, I can't read without underlining and taking notes. I mean scripture references, Holy Spirit revelations, etc. Same thing with the Bible. I check commentaries and check with the Holy Spirit as well when writing in my bible. I even write the dates and location of notes, so when I flip back at a later date/time, I can see the growth and any different revelations. Bible study should always be done with shovel not a rake!

    Okay. So... I know this might very well change as I get older, but (at the age of 29) I can often look back at my MIDDLE SCHOOL Bible and remember when and why I underlined something. Lol. I do get what you're saying, though, about making sure your notes have value... I have always struggled with Bible journaling for this very reason. I never know what's worth writing down!

    This is like verse mapping but with the notes all in that spot in the Bible. My one question, as I have just started with verse mapping, what do the numbers mean in Strong’s book?

    • @pkmcnett5649
      @pkmcnett5649 4 місяці тому +1

      The numbers connect to numbers in Strong's dictionary. They give the meaning of words and references. The book is divided into Greek numbers (NT) and Hebrew numbers.(Mostly OT)

    • @pkmcnett5649
      @pkmcnett5649 4 місяці тому +1

      Adding: you can look up the word in English, like Lioness, it gives the reference and a number in thus case 3833 (OT). The Hebrew word is there with its pronunciation. (law-bee') from Ezekiel 19:2.

    I asked hubby to buy me a new Journaling Bible because my current 1 contains my bad eisegesis 🙈, highlighted text (so much color, in so many places, with NO notes), a few "pretty pages" for arts sake 🙈.. this current journal Bible is a literal Testament to my growth as a Christian.. it contains good notes (as I've learned from you), cross references, Strongs definitions, etc but also ALL my newbie mistakes 🙈🙈 very embarrassing! So I'm gonna start fresh and hold onto all your tips and the tips from the wonderful viewers who've left helpful comments..
    Now my next question (although I watched your 'sermon notes' video yesterday 😬), what's the difference between sermon notes and Bible study notes? 🙈 I'll continue to binge your channel, hoping I'll find the answer in 1 of your videos 😉
    Keeping you, pastor Joe and the boys in my prayers
    ❤️ love from South Korea

    This is what I do. I love having notes in my bible. I will not likely look at an old notebook but I love going threw my older bibles. And it easier to find what your looking for. My husband grandparents had passed away and we got 2 of their bible. And all they did was highlight in them. No written notes or anything. Dont get me wrong I love the bibles and they are cherished but it would be so nice to have a few hand written notes explaining why they highlighted the passage. So this is how I study. Lots of notes and colored pens and highlighting. People could look at my bible and say wow that looks crazy but I laugh and say that's how my brain works so its understandable that my bible would look like that too. But if you pick it up you can see that there is marking system that I do. So it's not totally chaotic 😁.

    Thank you for putting this together. I’m totally new to Bible journaling. So I have a small faith notebook I use as an “introduction” but I don’t feel like it’s enough. I’m new to Bible journaling but not new to the Bible. So when I read I have a verse or a scriptural reference in my head but I have a hard time writing in my Bible. 🥴 so it’s nice to see your videos & know that this ol’ Catholic school girl won’t go to hell for writing in my Bible! ❤️

    Thank you for this. I think it helped. I've been meaning to Bible journal for the past 7 months but I have been too afraid to mess it up. I don't wish to write stuff that wouldn't add value for the next time I read it or five years from now, which leads me to overthink. Looking at some of your notes helped me see it wasn't as hard as I thought it was. Do you color code any highlights or do colors not necessarily matter?

You have made a lot of journaling videos, and it seems like you never really get into much Biblical content, it seems like you’re just trying to get people to journal. Faith I watched your video on how Crew & Co rebound your bible with all your notes in it and it was pretty amazing. Question: do you haul that big ol' hulkin bible to church, or does it stay home with you? That thing is ginormous! You need a little cart to haul it around in!

    What do you use to make perfect cuts? The straight edge tool you use. I would like to get one but I want one that actually works.

    Where do you get your map details? I have a great map book but do not want to tear anything out of it. I'd instead find it, print it, and then add it to my bible. You did not say tear, I just want to put them in my bible as you did. Thanks

    How do you become a Christian?

    • @SoushirouT
      @SoushirouT Рік тому +1

      To become a Christian…
      Accept that you you are a sinner and are due death as a result. Believe that Jesus, as someone with no sin, died to pay for your sin so you could have eternal life through belief in His work on the cross and His resurrection. Confess that you could not save yourself and acknowledge that Jesus is Lord with your mouth.
      (John 3:16, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Romans 10:9, Colossians 2:14)
      After becoming a Christian…
      Grow in your relationship with God by hearing His word (study the Bible) and conversing with Him (prayer). Find a community of Bible-believing followers of Christ to fellowship with.
      (Joshua 1:8, Romans 10:17, Luke 9:11-13, Luke 18:1, Hebrews 10:24-25)
