I don't want to be proud of what I have created. I want God to be proud of me for spending time with Him in His Word. I am not at all a creative person, but when I have leisure time, I use adult Christian Coloring Books. I only have to struggle with choosing colors and figure out how to shade flowers, etc. But when it comes to my Bible, I highlight, underline, and write notes. Yes, I use washi tape on occasion when I used to only use scotch tape. And, I have a color coding system I use, along with some symbols I picked up from some Bible Study classes I took using the Kay Arthur system. I watch videos by many creative women who have wonderful artistic abilities, which I admire. But I still prefer to focus on pleasing God first.
I believe we are all creative because we were created by an extremely creative God. The cool part is that our creativity shows up in different ways. Glad that you have a study process that is working for you 👍🏻
Absolutely loved seeing the variety of techniques and products you used to create the pages in your planners. I’ll repeat myself again when I say “your creativity is so inspirational”! WOW! Love when you showcase your previous work. 💙💛🪴
I Bible journal while I study. Having two different ways or books would not work for me. I add pages to my Bible and be creative while I learn. I do have a prayer journal as well but that is all I have. I think everyone does it differently but that is a good thing. God made us unique. I am thankful that I found your channel.
Love your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions. I just put 2 items in my Carr on amazon, and subscribed to your channel. So happy I came across you today. I was watching your destaching video, then found this one, and I can't wait to get started. Thx for sharing
I study and journal at different times, however, sometimes when I’m studying or listening to a sermon, I may have an idea about how to journal that verse or passage so I make a note of that idea in my Bible. The more I journal, the more visual I become.
Thank you for such an inspiring video, I tend to do the actual art in a reg journal and only take notes or do margins in my journaling Bibles. I don't have an issue doing the art in my Bible, just haven't been motivated enough.
I loved this video. I appreciated you mentioning the distinction of having two separate times; 1 for studying - to spend time with Him & the other for the creative process. I would have loved to see those livestreams lol. Is there still an opportunity to see them?
Thank u Elisa. Thank u 4 bring us back 2 the real focus of God's Word. What do u do when u have already Bible journaled on a verse or section of verses & there is no room on the page? & u want 2 journal more on that verse or section of verses some other time? Have a great, blessed day?
@ScrappyWife ok. Thank u. This is 1 of 2 - 4 reasons why I do my creative Bible Journaling in a notebook. The LORD has created us all different. I like your creative Bible journaling. Have a great, blessed day.
curious if you have ever tried verse mapping in your bible study. I am interested in it and may try to take the course offered by the James Method to try it out.
What level do you have to be at to participate in these 2 things?: 3. 3 exclusive livestreams with real time Bible journal processes 4. 2 Scrappy Zoom hangouts to connect with a wonderful crafty community
I have had my bible forever, I know I remember things by writing the main point of the passage. My bible is messy, I have misspelled words and never used special pencils and it is what ever color I had…I started using sticky notes when I had more I wanted to remember, my binding is starting to pull off….so although I don’t get to much into the craft part, I have added flaps now so the binding doesn’t have as much stress on it.
@@ScrappyWife Thank you for the tape and craft paper, idea! I’m spending some time cutting pretty paper and gluing my sticky notes to them and adding the page to my Bible! I’m really enjoying reading my study notes and the verses that go along with them!
I just saw ur video , I am a brand new Bible journalist and really want help on how to learn how to do this and join the community , will u please help me ?? I’m brand new and overwhelmed how to start
I am thankful to hear you explain the difference between your journaling Bible and your study Bible. Also, the balance between the actual study and the creating your art as a result of your study. I have an art journal that is based on scripture the Lord brings to mind. Thank you for sharing your faith and talents with us!

May will be helpful. I have begun to feel comfortable with art Journaling and planner decorating. ⚾️

Yes, I have found the same thing...I definitely think in a more visual way.
Thank you for such an inspiring video, I tend to do the actual art in a reg journal and only take notes or do margins in my journaling Bibles. I don't have an issue doing the art in my Bible, just haven't been motivated enough.
Totally understand that!
This is going to be so great! 😊
I agree!

Yes, they are still available over on Patreon.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Interleaved is my favorite
Yes - love that option too!
Thank u Elisa. Thank u 4 bring us back 2 the real focus of God's Word.
What do u do when u have already Bible journaled on a verse or section of verses & there is no room on the page? & u want 2 journal more on that verse or section of verses some other time?
Have a great, blessed day?
I add a tip-in, or go to a different Bible to do my journaling :)

I have watched you for years . Why has it took over 10 years for me to learn versamagic. No troubles haveing to do gesso.
Thanks for watching!

I did it as part of a Bible study group a few years ago. Definitely an interesting way to approach scripture.
What level do you have to be at to participate in these 2 things?: 3. 3 exclusive livestreams with real time Bible journal processes
4. 2 Scrappy Zoom hangouts to connect with a wonderful crafty community
Livestreams will be open to the pink ($5) level and up. The Zoom hangouts are at the green ($25) level and up.

Sounds like a well-loved Bible :)
@@ScrappyWife Thank you for the tape and craft paper, idea! I’m spending some time cutting pretty paper and gluing my sticky notes to them and adding the page to my Bible! I’m really enjoying reading my study notes and the verses that go along with them!
I appreciate the work and creativity however I am a person who is easily visually distracted and need to keep my pages uncluttered.
The key is that these Bibles are separate from the Bible I study from. They are just for these creative efforts, and not for every day reading.
Where did you get your journal/ planner? I have journaling bibles, but would love to do the extra journaling in a planner.
I sell faith planner inserts, faith notes, and prayer journaling inserts on my website - www.scrappywife.com
I want to see a flip through of the small bibles
Be sure to check out my patreon for more detailed looks.
Thank you for sharing!! Where is your pink bible study book from?
Not totally sure which book you are talking about, but most of the Bible studies I work through are from Illustrated Faith.
Oops sorry - The one that you talk about at 8:12
@@sarahincani1350that’s a disc bound book, either happy planner or kellofaplan though the one pictured is probably not currently available.
thanks for this, i need to get back into my studies, slacking. i don't like to write directly
in my Bible so is like a reg notebook ok?
Totally works in a regular notebook!
I'm thinking if I tried doodling a rooster, it would end up looking more like a fried egg !!
Hehe, but practice makes improvement!
How do you get your page clips to stay on
The paper clips? I use washi tape to keep them on the page.
Since you have an established you tube have you ever considered the inspire bible. I know their new released spiral bible
I have seen that one before for sure, but I prefer one that does not have any illustrations at all.
What does your everyday Sunday bible look like
It is an NIV translation, standard Bible. I use it for reading/underlining and take notes in my faith planner for my more traditional studying.
I just saw ur video , I am a brand new Bible journalist and really want help on how to learn how to do this and join the community , will u please help me ?? I’m brand new and overwhelmed how to start
Hey Theresa - I have a ton of videos on this channel with lots of information. Definitely the biggest tip is just to dive in and give it a try.
@@ScrappyWife thank you
I am watching this again please show me s slow flip through i just subscribe
Be sure to check out my patreon - www.patreon.com/scrappywife for more detailed info on Bible journaling in May.
Does anyone in usa publish journaling bibles in Russian language?in our country nobody does😢please help me to get one
Not that I know of - but, you can always journal in a separate book, apart from a Bible.
Do you still carry your faith dividers?
I don't have faith specific dividers, but do have some "abstract sunrise" dividers available. Plus a ton of faith inserts :)
I bought a journaling bible. It’s still in the box 😂
Time to pull it out!
@@ScrappyWife agreed!
Do u buy a new Bible every year?
I used to, but now I don't need a new one quite as quickly.
@@ScrappyWife thanks! I’m considering getting one of the ones u showed in the video - did u link them in the description?
It looks like you have so much stuff covering the print, you are negating the purpose of actually reading & studying, IMO ~~~
Ah, but the actual studying and reading happens in my study Bible. This Bible (or Bibles) are meant purely for the creative expression of my faith.
I am thankful to hear you explain the difference between your journaling Bible and your study Bible. Also, the balance between the actual study and the creating your art as a result of your study.
