Great vid man! One of my favorite bands of all time. Personal favorite tracks by them is: Elder Misanthropy, Closed Casket, Dave Goes To Hollywood, Miscarriage, Deathmask Divine, To a Breathless Oblivion, Necropolis, In Hell Is Where She Waits, Every Rope a Noose, The Fog, Lonely Deceased and many more XD. I just really love the Black Metal vibes in some of them at times. My favorite song from the new Album Servitude was Utopia Black. But anyways, I also loved all the facts and stuff u told us! Keep it up man🤘🏼🤘🏼
Nice review! I've mainly listened to Verminous and Nightbringers before, and now also Servitude. I prefer the previous two albums at the moment, but I've only gone through Servitude twice. After your review I definitely need to check out the whole catalogue! I have recently found your channel and think that you have good delivery and a pleasant voice to listen to. Looking forward to new videos!
Thanks very much for the kind words and glad you are enjoying the channel. Black Dahlia are definetley worth checkingmore of their discography. Great band.
Love this channel so much your passion for metal is plain to see and your videos are funny informative and genuine which is so hard to find these days. Your channel should be bigger and hopefully it will be soon. Really excited for Immolation rankings 🤘
Thank you very much for the kind words. It really means a lot when people enjoy the videos. A lot of work goes into them so it is great to hear that it has not been for nothing 🤘
Bro, Everblack is actually my favourite album by them, I personally think it's their best album just because this album is the definition of pure melodeath, and also unlike most other death metal albums, this album has pretty much no fillers, and every single tracks are great on their own. Nocturnal is my 2nd favourite album, it has tons of great tracks (my favourite ones being What a Horrible Night, Everything Went Black & Deathmask Divine). Another thing I love about Nocturnal is it's cover art, I know Trevor was a huge Castlevania fan however as a gamer, whenever I look at the cover art, I always think of the Citadael level from Serious Sam The Second Encounter, to which, Serious Sam is a fps game that's not so well known to many but it's my all time favourite game, and that's what the cover art reminds me of and if it ain't obvious enough, that's a compliment.
Definitely worth checking them out. Will be doing a Carcass ranking at some point for sure. Got a lot of other videos scheduled first though so won't be for a few months
I used to take issue with screaming back in the day, so I overlooked In Flames and TBDM for a long time, but it then grew on me and I fell in love with the former. Many years later I rediscovered Nocturnal by chance... Oh boy what an album this is. The solos there are top notch. I am trying to get into other albums now, with their latest release seeming like a very solid record
Solid ranking. The only thing I would change is deflorate and abysmal, just personal preference. I don’t know what it was,but abysmal just didn’t stick with me the way the others did.
My first TBDM was Everblack back in 2014 and I wasn't super familiar with their older stuff until these past few years so I do have some bias to their Everblack onwards era (I am a huge fan of Alan Cassidy and Brandon Ellis in this lineup). Fully agree on Unhallowed in A, easily one of my favourites from them. For me, Miasma is in C. It's a good album but lacking the spice of the future lineups. The mix is also quite dry. Nocturnal and Ritual are very good, but not S for me; high A instead. Nocturnal lacks some of the guitar and vocal work I enjoy in later albums and Ritual is a couple of songs too long for me. Deflorate would also be in C for me, not as memorable songs and missing the slower songs with more groove and meaty riffs. I love Everblack. Very high A or S for me. I love the overall dark atmosphere, the mix of slow brooding songs and fast riffy songs. Trevor sounds fantastic, the guitars are juicy and I love Alan Cassidy on drums. Abysmal gets too much hate. It's a fast and aggressive album with some standout songs like Vlad..., Threat level No3, Asylum. It is let down by the sterile mix though. High B Nightbringers is an amazing album. The mix is meaty (you can hear the bass so well!) and every song has something I remember. Love Brandon Ellis on leads. Easily in S. I also love Verminous. Not too sure why I gets so much hate tbh, I love that they experimented more with their sound, it's full of groove. Mix is great, everyone sounds great, the songs are great. Album's great. Job done. Also in S. Not sure how I feel on Servitude yet. I'm also thinking B. It's very TBDM with songs that feel like they could have been from Miasma, Ritual, Abysmal, and Nightbringers. Not their strongest but also far from their weakest. I like it.
Servitude is a great album but the loss of Trevor is very apparent unfortunately. Still a great album though and I'm looking forward to what they do next 🤘
Personally, I'd swap Nocturnal with Ritual, and Abysmal with Nightbringers, but otherwise I agree with all of your rankings! Haven't listened to Servitude all the way through yet, but psyched on the tracks I've heard thus far. I didn't realize people don't like Abysmal, it's one of my absolute favorites.
I remember one time I was gonna wear a black dahlia murder shirt to the movies (but my mom wouldn’t let me!) So as I got to the theatre I was wondering “wait didn’t I see a movie (in the same theater) where a cop shot a dude in the hand and licked the blood from his hand?” HOW IS THAT FAIR? AWSOME band BTW!

I can say with all sincerity that they do not have a single bad album 🤘
Useful stuff, will check BDM out at somepoint soon. Any plans for a Carcass ranking video?
Definitely worth checking them out.
Will be doing a Carcass ranking at some point for sure. Got a lot of other videos scheduled first though so won't be for a few months
All albums solid I agree. I am happy they are back.
They are a great band and this is another great album.
@@ThatMetalBloke indeed

I had a great time going through their discography. Genuinely not a single bad album 🤘

There is very little in it between the albums of these guys. So damn consistent. R.I.P. Trevor 🤘
Their 7th album really was Abysmal.
It literally was
Great Ranking!
🤘
Deflorate is so underrated

Truly one of a handful of bands with no bad albums 🤘

AWSOME band BTW!
I know exactly what you mean. Strange world we live in.
Black Dahlia fucking rule 🤘
Their best album is whatever album you are currently listening to at the time.
Valid point 🤘
