Thank you for a great tutorial. I didn’t realise the pencil tool is the equivalent of the mouse’s favourite pen tool. No wonder why I’m struggling trying to use pen tool in illustrator with a tablet. Should have tried pencil! Love your tutorials. Detailed and clear explanations where as other tutorials I find are confusing.

Well that is good to know. It is impressive that mine has lasted for as long as it has, but I am also excited that i don't have to buy a new one just to see if the interface is different. :)

I have a Wacom Intuos tablet, but in the settings, there is no slider for Tilt Sensitivity. Any idea why?
is the ADOBE CS 5.5 compatible with wacom intuos tablets?
I have a doubt like when I place the wavom pen on the tab ..the artboard in illustrator is running down .. but it pen and wavom is working fine on other softwares .. can u help me ?
Things I would like you to Check:
Step #1: Have you installed the Driver for your Tablet? ua-cam.com/video/CbhKGfZd7BQ/v-deo.html
Check that all programs/applications are selected or modify specifically for Photoshop/Illustrator. Restart Computer after installing Driver and Modifying Settings.
Step #2: Under your Preferences in Adobe Illustrator do you have Enable Wacom selected under Devices. (I have zero Plugins or Scratch Disks setup for my Tablet to Work)
Step #3: If you click on the Blob Brush and Draw on the Artboard does it recognize the Tablet? Sometimes you just need to Draw on the Tablet for the Pressure to Appear when you go back to the Blob Brush Options.
I've followed all the steps in this video, but I'm still not able to have pressure sensitivity. I have selected 'pressure' in the brush options, changed the variation, and when I press lightly or hard the stroke is uniform. This seems to be an Illustrator issue as my Wacom Tablet Properties shows it recognises variation in pressure. Any tips? Thanks
Under Preferences - Double Check that Devices has Enable Wacom Checked.
I've installed my tablet, and on Illustrator I see that I am able to use my pen tool. However, it does not do the width variations with the pen tool. I am very new to this and to Illustrator - what am I doing wrong? My size options only show "fixed" and "random." The "pressure" option is actually grayed out. (Thanks for the video though!)
I did some security & privacy measures and restarted Illustrator - no longer grayed out!
Just wanted to double check pressure tools- you can use blob brush or paint brush to get pressure using tablet. Pen Tool won’t use pressure but you can add width profiles/brushes to achieve line variation
Go to Preferences > Plug-Ins & Scratch Discs, ticked additional plug-ins folder
then found the Wacom folder and pressed select folder
The folder that worked for me was in "Applications/WacomTablet"
I also thought it would be more specific, but that worked fine.
Restart illustrator and get the option for Pressure, SUCCESS!
