Hello 👋🏽 Betty to be honest I don’t know much about this specific topic cause I came when I was super young with my mother but here is what I know or think I know😅
You need to apply for a Schengen Tourist Visa if your nationality is on the list of countries whose nationals need a Schengen short-stay visa.
But I was thinking what about your boyfriend can he look into that since he is here im Netherlands?
I think it’s easier for a child to learn the language coz they don’t have so much going on in their minds unlike adults some have kids to think about , some have this and that to do at home, their minds are occupied with a lot compared to that of a kid.

Another thing is confidence. Children repeat what they hear, they are not afraid of sounding dumb, or foolish. They just say. Adults struggle to learn new languages because we afraid to say them out loud. We are so afraid that it sounds dumb. Children on the other hand just do it, no inhibitions
