Just got off RC Independence of the Seas 3 days ago. I had food poisoning.... the windjammer WAS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! The vibe was nice & chill. The room was a little outdated. I wanted to relax and this boat was very chill. Overall 7.5 outta 10.
I have sailed both Carnival and Royal Caribbean, and I agree with your comment on the Windjammer buffet on RC. The food in general is not good and the atmosphere there is too chaotic. Announcements are even made telling guests to eat, get up, and go to make room for others.
Carnival names itself as the Funship and that is exactly what they are. The cruise director is always hosting a parties on the ship and the passengers have a great time. There is fun on other ships and well, but on Carnival is it always there everywhere. The fights are usually on the smaller ships and they don't happen very often. Everyone hears about them because a fight on a ship is always big news. The only thing I don't like about Carnival is the buffet. Other than that, my cruise experience with them has been outstanding.
Everything you just said. We have sailed both lines and after our last cruise on RC, we came away convinced that Carnival is a better experience. The food quality and the assortment of venues is better on Carnival, and the overall vibe is indeed more uplifting and engaging. The fare on RC was not good in the buffet or in any of the limited free’ venues, although the steakhouse (extra fee) was top tier. The vibe on RC is chill, but there’s a weird disconnect- less engaging maybe. Avoiding cruises less than five days on Carnival is very good advice for the reasons stated and implied. Great presentation!!
Thank you for your input and honesty! You said something the REALLY resonates with me after having sailed on a Premiere Royal ship. (Wonder of The Seas) "The vibe on RC is chill, but there’s a weird disconnect- less engaging maybe." Could. Not. Agree. More. Thank you for stopping in!
No but now that you mention it, THE COMEDY SHOWS. Dear Lord!!! On RC. Absolutely atrocious. I mean bad bad. On Carnival, you question how they managed to afford such high level comics. And to have 3 on one 7 day sailing is insanity. 🤯
I have to kindly disagree. I sail on Carnival occasionally, so I'm not going to bash them too hard, but the clientele on Carnival ships are just ratchet! You have to really pick a time to avoid the ratchet folks, and wild out of control children. Too much time spent to figure out a decent experience.
We USED to be loyal to Royal. Then we tried Carnival. No more RC for us! The vibe is much more upbeat on Carnival and we love the small intimate comedy club! Much better than being in the large main room!
I disagree. The small comedy clubs filled up too fast. People stranding and people getting irritated. Rather it be in an area that can accommodate everyone.
@TheChickenGuy-ts1vu I'm the guy out of our 4 group who leaves dinner early and gets 2nd row center seats for the comedy shows and any show in the main room. You just need to plan. On the big ships, it's really tough!
@jimdunlop4427 We sailed the Glory and had to go an hour early just to get the good seats. If you were 15 minutes early...good luck! But if they didn't have so many people, I would also like the smaller rooms.
Awesome! I'm glad you tried it and gave it a chance! I am curious, Have you tried the newer Carnival ships? The comedy shows are primarily in the large aud and they are amazing!! Now they do have a few shows sprinkled in the Limelight Lounge though. Either way, the comedy FAR surpasses Royal.
Carnival's brand ambasidor stated that they can't stop people from playing "loud music". If they can't stop that, how do they stop fights? I feel their security is sub par at best and I feel my family will be unsafe on their ships. Saving a few bucks is not worth my families safety. So no Carnival ever. RC is just overpriced. So MSC and Princess will be in our future.
About the "robot bar"... it was replaced with the Pesky Parrot now and it's a better experience. 1. Checking in with Royal took me 15min from me walking into the terminal to going up the gangway onto the ship. With Carnival it took me nearly 45min to get through the same process. 2. Shows on Royal are way better. Carnival has a loooooong way to go with their shows. While the comedy shows were a toss up between them... the main theater type shows weren't well produced on Carnival. I will give Carnival credit for their Cruise Directors being better...thus their random side shows [like Motown karaoke in the lobbies]...but in all honesty... it was so many things to do on Royal...i didn't get to do a majority of it. 3. While Celebration Key is coming soon for Carnival... Perfect Day at Coco Cay was an amazing stop. Already a bad knock with Celebration Key is finding out your Drink package doesn't even transfer but with Royal it does. 4. One place i felt Carnival has an edge was the quick grab places [ Guy's Burger, Shaq's and etc] but the specialty dinning on Royal was better. Both main dining was hit or miss for me. 5. Rooms. We stayed in balcony suites on both cruise lines and without a doubt Carnival has some of the hardest beds at sea IMO. The rooms on Carnival was like comparing a Motel 6 to a Hilton. If you think i'm joking... search for the "Presidential Suite" on Carnival Mardi Gras and then search for the Royal Loft Suite on Icon of the Seas...it's not even close in decor, layout and comfort. I could keep going but that's all for now
Look as far as the people that work on the ships one cruise line is not better than one or the other these employees bounce from one ship to the other when there contracts expire u think after there done with royal they are trained to be crapier on carnival
Are you in the fight? If not it’s a free show 😂 & what that got to do with the cheaper expense? Wouldn’t a person feel more rowdy paying more & disrespected? 😮💨

The windjammer is atrocious! KEEP it! The options on Carnival are so much better!

The analogies are perfect😂
Thank you! You feel me?!
This is comedy right. Lmfao

You didn’t sell me on your points, but I like you 😂
I like you too! Did you Subscribe? I'm not asking you to, I'm just asking if you did. Because if so then dang.... thank you. It means the world!

Serious question, have you tried the Mardi Gras, The Celebration of the Jubilee?
@@nikoforthepeople no. I will be on their newest addition, the Firenze in a few months. Praying. Lol
This guy might be on to something.
I’m trynna tell you! Don’t believe me? TRY IT! 🙏🏾

Royal is way better, at least there is no fighting on royal
What makes Royal better. Not to mention, there is definitely fighting on Royal.
Look as far as the people that work on the ships one cruise line is not better than one or the other these employees bounce from one ship to the other when there contracts expire u think after there done with royal they are trained to be crapier on carnival
THANK YOU!! I didn't even think to mention that! Same folks! Bouncing from contract to contract!
Bro all that sounds good but they're always fighting on carnival ships so you can keep that cheap stuff.
That's Royal Caribbean 😂

Okay now look up how many times it has been a fight on carnival way more than Royal Caribbean.
Watch both my Part 1 AND Part 2 of the video!
Fights happen on Royal too. There was a pretty big on the week of Thanksgiving on the Icon of the seas.
Are you in the fight? If not it’s a free show 😂 & what that got to do with the cheaper expense? Wouldn’t a person feel more rowdy paying more & disrespected? 😮💨
Satire channel I guess, lol.
No. Anything specific you disagree with.
