@Oligoden Do you understand the concept and the meaning of Communist country? Things that can have a great impact to the livelihood of the people are undertaken and managed by government greatly for the prosperity of its people. That is what I say the wealth is more distributed compare to American democracy that serves greatly the 1% of the rich people.
How can you say the sanctions would not Hurth the North Korean economy? If there is no trade where the hell all the commodities come from? Produce by themselves? Where on earth any country that produces all of the things by themselves? No trade means no any income as well. No FDI, no Infrastructure and developments.
If you are talking about human right, What human right? American human right that instigate war everywhere in the world that cause countless of lost of human lives? But yet herself is violated human right in her country as well as overseas.

I kinda prefer these videos than that off westerners who has to scream the word "propaganda" whenever they see one in the streets of pyongyang, asking really political questions to their tour guides even though they know they won't get the answer they want, add sly comments when filming, acting as if they've never seen poverty before, going to places they are not supposed to go to like they weren't aware of the country they are going to in the first place.
It's so good to be able to go to a city where you can just wander about by yourself, meet people and form your own opinion. So natural.
If it wasn't for "westerners' you would not be watching this video my friend. Pity the people of NK can't see it too.

Too many buildings. Very few people.
No, they are using underground train and bus rather than car. Only a few people have car. They can not buy cars. Cars are provided by govt only to a certain people such as racing driver. The city population is about 3.500.000 people only.

As a South Korean, I had the opportunity to visit North Korea's Mount Kumgang as seen in 6:23 back in 2001 before travelling was restricted. I was a little kid, but what shocked me were dead cows in the farmlands and fake wooden utility poles with no actual powers. The villages near the roads were actually covered and surrounded by some walls so that we couldn't take a close look. It was pretty scary.

I wouldn't want to go to Pyongyang long because I hear it's just a city filled with government workers, it would be better to see more.
That's technically true, but every North Korean citizen is technically a "government worker" because the country has no private sector.
The tour guide did say earlier in the video that rural couples and families are typically given bungalow houses unlike the ones seen here. But you probably wouldn't be allowed to visit rural North Korea.
travelling there is a great idea because you would feel that you are so free. While everyone has their own duties as almost everyone has their own schedule, you would be left out to do whatever you want and noone would intercept U. :)) Your second sentence is almost correct, it is a socialist country. It means everyone is working and contributing towards that society instead of anyone else.
I'd say go to Rason, it's quite different to Pyongyang and the rest of the country.

I want to be helpful and tell you what you should have for breakfast. First you need bacon and sausage and ham. Then you need belgin waffles with strawberry syrup, pancakes with berries and bananas, and french toast. Then you need cereal with milk. And eggs and hash browns. And english mufflins toasted with butter. And tea and coffee and orange juice. And some jelly and jam with toast. And some people dont like sugar so you need the blue and pink stuff in the packets and honey. That stuff looked like mostly lunch or dinner food.

It's sad that they never state the obvious... At the peak of the tourist season the 4 star or 5 star hotell has nobody in the lobby at breakfast time and very few people eating breakfast... They also fail to discuss the poor quality of the room. Even worse they failed to comment that the busses are packed to the gills! Yes they have busses, trams, and the Subway, but they are not sufficient for all the people to get to work! There are very long lines and the busses are packed like sardines... horrible environment! Again, this is just a propagan the video that attempts to portray North koyeah as a progressive and nice place to visit when in point of fact it is the most abusive government on the planet!

But the korean war in the 1950s, NK-China allied military didn't win because SK still alive, later developing, changed as to one of very advanced countries like Japan, UK, France, Germany, Canada etc.
