"Downsizing into a tiny house gave me a fresh perspective on the work I do with my clients as a professional organizer. Why are people so attached to things? I often wondered. Why did they keep so much of so little value? After 20 years of coaching others through the process, I got a taste of my own medicine. I enjoy when the houses aren’t clean. It shows a more realistic side of living in such a cramped space that a lot of other tours just don’t show.

Finally!! Someone who utilized those pull out shelves!! I’ve been wondering for the longest time why no one uses those as opposed to the swing up style. Takes up so much less space...

They're called pull-out boards. They can be used as a cutting board. A knob or handle may help slide it in and out.
A narrow folding shelf beneath a window sill can also be used as a desk, for dining or a work space for crafts or projects. The window sill extends the space.

Lol my husband and I just ESCAPED the SF Bay Area just last week. We were paying 2700/month for 524 sq. feet. We are DONE with tiny house living!!!!!! We now have a 1600 SQ foot home and we are loving it!!! I'm glad it works for some people.
Glad to hear it! You raise a good point; living small is much less fulfilling when you are paying outrageous prices. That's where tiny houses on wheels in these kind of highly expensive urban areas are a great fill-in-the-gaps solutions for those looking for affordable, simple living.
Elizabeth Stevenson - My friend, a professional, rents a bedroom for $2700 per month too! She relocated there because she absolutely loves it. I give her so much credit as she is following her dream, and one that I would never make, so I’m very happy for her.
You could build a table on the reverse side of the alpaca art on the wall, that folds down from the wall. Nobody would even know it’s there. Of course you would have to make the leg of the table fold flush into the underside of the table. The art would be removable so it wouldn’t be rubbing on people’s legs.

Getting a Tiny House is the easy part... finding a proper place to park it.. that's the tricky part.
Zoning is a real challenge.
This country really needs to get with the program.. our inability / unwillingness to house our people is shameful.

Lots of clever reuse of materials and objects for such a small space. It's a bit cluttered for my taste though. I like my kitchen counters completely cleared of everything, except when I'm cooking.

You would probably need a slightly bigger floorplan to accommodate the storage needed to achieve your desired esthetic. That's the only difference. And as you say, to each their own 🙌

yes, buckets and dippers represent here! lol. one person can bathe with one bucket of water.
Realistically, everything fits beneath a cot, which includes a minimal wardrobe, one set of kitchenware and an extra set of linens. A folding shelf adjacent to a cot may be all that is needed for extra work space. Try a handheld computer. Books, shelves, bureaus, tables, counter tops, desks and benches may not be really needed. Use the cot as a daybed.
Change old habits. Learn new ways to go without. Be creative with simplicity.

Nice concept, but I am just wondering, in this tiny house, where is the restroom? There is a shower, but where does she do her personal business when nature calls?

Wow be careful parking in the SF Bay area. I went down a few months ago trying to go over to Alcatraz but decided against it because of the human feces and needles on the sidewalks. Such a disgrace. I have been to many third world countries as a volunteer and I have never witnessed what I saw in San Fran. In all of the poor countries that I have been to ... where people literally had no food to feed their families, they still had the dignity to not crap on the sidewalks or streets. It's a travesty what the liberals have done to that once great state.
