What makes Beyblade a Sport? Has Takara Tomi successfully made Beyblade into a sport? Had it done this a long time ago? What's your thoughts? Like Beyblade theories? @XACE_BLADER I can already imagine people using all kinds of materials, you never know when the beys will shater into pieces nor how far they go.. The first gen Beyblade makes so much sense if that were the case, they had some of the best, unique designs for beylaunchers 😏 thanks for watching and leaving a comment ✌️
@@BeybladeDad too bad most of the plastic gen launchers were either too impractical and hard to launch if used irl or impossible if we count some "launchers" mainly ryugas gauntlet/wrist launcher
I cant help but feel that they only really intended on making "Gear Sports" a thing in japan, from the region locked exclusives to the lack of really any change to there tournament system, seems more like a type of nepotism for Japanese bladers as opposed to a worldwide sport at this point. I get its based in japan but cmon its a global market this is a little behind the times.
@St0nk5 I completely agree, from the use of special beystadiums that can track the bey, and even the training centre. A big crux might also be Hasbro's perspective on marketing. They seem to focus more on young kids to cement a relationship, but have done little to maintain that throughout. Prime example being transformers, quality has steadily decreased over the years. But yeah, TT does seem to listen to their fanbase alot more than Hasbro.. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment ✌️
@dylanpurnell7480 that's what makes them even more special and dear to our hearts! I think it's good that we keep their memories, sometimes rewriting characters can change them drastically. Robin and Jaxon are pretty fun too, in their own ways (and Multi) thanks for watching, I hope you enjoyed the video ✌️
Poker is considered a sport and it's LITERALLY gambling. There's a massive skill factor when it comes to bluffing and calling. Beyblade isn't gambling at all, and still requires skill. If poker can be considered a sport, Beyblade can too, by a long shot.
@@Lavie_Azure Not related to your point but spinning tops can be a sport, not beyblade. There must be a spinning tops union, with 5+ brands including Takara Tomy, engineering the best beys within a ruleset and then it becomes a sport.
TT should definitely take some notes of Jake Jones Stadiums. Bigger stadiums would warrant more strategy and planning. Of course, making such a big stadium would be far more costly, and storing them would be inconveniencing.
Although not as much as football or basketball, I think Beyblade is also a sport. If the original Beyblades were not so expensive, I'm sure it would be a more popular sport, and the fact that it is a sport would be accepted by everyone. People don't want to pay so much for a small top. We collectors pay, but not everyone. Even though Beyblade is a sport, it will never be as popular as other sports.
I can see a "competitive" version of launchers being made. Simply make the same product, with added string, and advertise it as such for a more competitive audience. Maybe dedicated a website to the Sports or Competitive sells, so that there is less risk of kids getting their hands on it. If that's indeed the concern. They could advertise Sports wear like the gloves as well. It could be an entire Gear Sports official website that is dedicated to an older or competitive audience. (And let's be fair, needing a bandaid from a fast bey, is a bit different than a concussion or torn ligaments from something like Football or Basketball haha! So are we REALLLY that concerned about this?)
If the beystadiums are huge and the string launchers more powerful, doesn't it make it impossible to practice at home? The format would change and the beys already get damaged, this is a carefully crafted game from the bottom up (physics involved) so wouldn't a change like that throw everything out of wack?
Hey man, here where I'm from there are some small stores that does sponsor teams and tournaments, we have like small or starting up hobby shops that sells beyblade sponsor teams to fight on competitions and essentially act as marketing because they would tell other competitors that they got their beys from this hobby shop. You see, maybe beyblade will not be a sport but it can become a serious hobby just like how the Tamiya Mini4WD made the transition from kids toys to an actual adult hobby (this is basically slot model car racing but sci-fi) our local toys distributor for beyblade used to have the iron grip when it comes to distributing their toys but now that beyblade attracts more adult fans they made it so Hobby Shops (even the small ones) can get beyblades for wholesale prices. I honestly hope that Beyblade X would have the same staying power as Burst or even like Tamiya Mini4WD which has existed for decades and we still have underground races to this day
This is kinda inspiring! I might actually attempt to make a bigger arena and string launchers with longer strings to see if a bigger adult version for X works. And actually making teams sounds amazing as well!
It would be interesting if they made larger anime size stadiums like in BBX as well as make larger, heavier, and more durable beyblades meant for that stadium. Instead of selling those in the toy section of a store, sell and market them in sporting goods stores, maybe it could become a bonified sport
One problem to make it a official sport is that its bound to one brand that way it will not go global, maybe in japan they succeed to make it a official sport.
Having multiple companys make blades and compete wich company makes the best blades in a specific ruleset like they cant be heavyer then x or cant be less heavy then x, allowed tip and rachet shapes with weight restrictions and then it would get way more populair since more brands means more promotion means more eyeballs and it would be able to become a sport. But don't think takara would agree with competing with brands for blades, they want to keep it takara only.
so, in terms of Beyblade being a sport I can see where you're coming from with this, and I think really the problem is how small and low the stadiums are, like shown in the anime's the bladers can take different standing launch forms or kneel down to it, but even so the bladers have to put more effort into their launches, I got a satellite dish as a stadium recently (8 ft) and it takes a lot more form and launch strength in order to get the beys to reach the side of it.

The stadiums are big enough doesn't need to be bigger- especially the tt stadium.

I don't like how the app is locked to certain countries and you can only scan the codes from boxes originally from that country
I miss people like Valt, Ryuga and Shu. The Anime won't be the same without a character like Valt.

@Lavie_Azure I mean it does require skill, but in my opinion very little. Most battles are leaning towards mostly luck

It's a little crazy that it took so many years for them to finally realize that blading is not all for the kids.
