Granted I’m only two minutes and and smashed the like button 5 seconds in. I’m excited about this, this looks like a fun video/concept. As always, I appreciate the creativity and fun of these!
This is a fantasic video. Its so good that I was adamant that shrine was better but you all made such a solid argument for PTTP that im not conviced it will be better in the long run. Especially since V/VMAXes are actively moving the game away from any non rulebox pokemon being that good
@@BurtsPTCG the bit that sold me is that you going first cannot play a supporter but your opponent can and it could be marnie plus peak before you even got a real turn to setup. Makes me wonder if were back to going first being objectively the worse option haha
Yoo, just saw this because of your community post. This documentary-style video is amazing! Fantastic narration, editing, excerpts from other creators… it has everything!!!
Excellent video as usual! However I was hoping some older stadiums would be featured considering the title is "greatest stadium of all time". In that case, I think cards like Broken Time-Space should definitely be featured. But maybe for a future video ;)
This is such an awesome video format! I love how you brought people together, the editing style was immaculate, and the topic in this video was really interesting especially for the exciting format-warping possibilities that p2p has post rotation! Thank you for all of your awesome videos!
I would vote Shrine mainly because I know first hand what it can do. I only got back into ptcgo last week after not playing since tag teams were introduced. Everyone in the video made excellent points tho and I liked that both cards were not only looked at from the current state of the game's pov but also what they were like during their Standard play. I definitely think PTTP is better in the long run because rule box pokemon seem to be the future of the game (especially that new V cards where you combine 4 to make one. They have 2 or 3 abilities and shutting all of them down is a huge deal). Although I do think that Shrine would be meta in expanded today if V cards weren't a thing and we just continued with EX and GX which also brings up the question, would pokemon print cards like the V or GX which don't have a rule box just to nerf PTTP? Anyways really insightful discussion and excellent video as always!
Finishing someone off even these days with Lele never gets old. All out granbull is still to this day my all time favourite deck to play in expanded and is actually surprisingly good. I think I’ve got like a 58% wr across 1k+ games
My vote goes to Path to the Peak. If Shrine affected all Rule Box Pokémon like Path does, it would be my pick instead. Both have had noticeable impacts on the meta at the time of their release and both are great cards. I'd love an updated Shrine, though.
Yeah I replied to this here but Idk what happened to the comment. It seems you figured it out tho anyway. Yeah I would love to see more collabs like this they are cool
Path to the Peak was (nearly) functionality identical to Power Plant up until Vs. There could definitely be some discussion around real events where it was played a lot.
I was playing RS Malamar and my opponent played path and I'm like "Hell yeah im not gonna retreat with Malamar I can just keep the path there and use my Tower Of Waters" and then literally the NEXT TURN my opponent ran his hand out to draw with Crobat and couldn't because the path was still there and he literally just conceded
Out of these two I’ve gotta give the stronger individual to path but if you’re talking about cards that ‘boost’ other cards then shrine is the pick. Honorary mention goes to Forest of Giant Plants for me, it just breaks a core mechanic especially when it was paired with vileplume.
@@BurtsPTCG Yeah I remember playing Vileplume/Regice/Glaceon Ex back then and it was some of the most broken stuff. Literally auto win against some decks. Found your channel the other day and I’m hooked. Your mini-doc series is actually straight fire. Can’t wait for more keep up the good work my guy 👍
I enjoyed both sides of the arguement, but I'm still team Shrine. Shrine of punishment gave so many cards that were on fringe play/had no buisness seeing play a legitimate stake in the meta game. Path is good , but decks that move away from rulebox abilities keep trucking along Spread that damage
@@BurtsPTCG if they reprinted Shrine as it was but for pokemon with a rulebox, I think it would diversify the game significantly . They don't have to buff it. Just give it back and watch people get creative with one prize pokemon again

Mate this was a great Vid. Spell tag mally with shrine was one of my favourite decks
Much love my friend 🥰 I adored a little mally shrine! 🥰
Top notch editing there.

Great job, as someone who just started playing during vivid voltage it was fun hearing about some ptcg history
Love to hear it my friend! Will try make some more! 🙌

awesome videos seen all you guys talking about this and sharing a good time for pokemon content for us 🙏🏾❤️👌🏾🔥😎

I loved playing shrine decks back when it was relevant in standard. I hope we get something like this for the swsh era (affecting V's and Vmax's)
Would be ideal! 🙌

Of all time it has GOT to be Broken Time-Space or Forest of Giant Plants. Being able to evolve turn 1 with a STADIUM was a mistake.
Part two: Add Virbank City Gym, Skyfield, Parallel City, and Chaotic Swell into the discussion.
Yeah completely forgot laser bank! Will try to do a better job with the next one :p hope you liked it tho :)
