One of the smaller details/funny bits is when Bail says to Leia that the people of Alderaan will one day look up to her, and it technically comes true because she was on the Death Star when Tarkin fired it at Alderaan.
@@stellviahohenheim True, but the station is big enough that it can be viewed from a planet in close proximity to it like Alderaan or Endor. I'm pretty sure they would have been looking up at it as soon as someone noticed it.
May I add: 11:14 Mason said one direction and the editor put in a random photo of harry styles on a treadmill I mean come on you guys if there were oscars for youtube editors this would at the very least be nominated
You know full well that if that family is smuggled to a field of daisies and rainbows, then it is an entire planet of daisies and rainbows. Because if there's one thing we know about Star Trek, it's that every planet only has one biome.
I really hope his bacta tank flashback is just him becoming the prisoner of a tribe of sand people who he then befriends. Like that flashback is just a side effect of the brand of tanks they use.
I want there to be an episode where Obi Wan needs a ship part but doesn't have the money to pay the ship parts dealer, so Qui Gon's ghost comes back to swindle the dealer like in Phantom Menace
i enjoyed seeing kenobi, seeing how he is handling, or not handling his past actions. I also fully agree with the sense of space at times feeling small while looking big. And definitely the worst part for me has been Leia just outrunning grown ass adults and you can clearly see everyone having to hold back so they wouldn't catch her in frame. The rest is well, okay, nothing else really sticks out neither good nor bad.
It definitely pulls you out of the immersion for sure but suspending my disbelief is easy enough for such a small moment. In my head she used force dash
I love my 10 year old daughter but I could not empathise with Leia at all. I just wanted a huge boulder to roll down a mountain and squash her. That would end how annoyed I was with her and her interactions with every other character. Except the boulder. That would be cathartic.
I love how Kenobi’s hair and beard is impervious to CGI fire when he is dragged head first into it and lays there for a hot minute without his face being severely burned. If only Anakin had that power on Mustafar, we would still have Haydens beautiful Vader face and mop.
You must realize Kenobi's powers are weak. He used all his force powers to protect his face and beard and hair, but he didn't have enough force juice to protect part of one side of his robe and a part of one side of his shoulder. Or at least that was my interpretation...
I agree with James on the use of space mentioned. I couldn’t help but notice it looked like the actors were purposefully running so slow it was almost a walk when chasing Leia through the woods. Just looked clunky. Same with multiple inquisitors being stopped by a single awning that the runaway Jedi pulled down. I feel like I said “just walk around it!” 10 times in the first 3 eps.
The woods, the awning, the hilarious laser security gate they turn off...to just walk through rather than drive, Vader and his troops with the fire, Reva's amazing parkour that takes five minutes to reach a nearby rooftop slowly enough for them to have escaped...you can get away with one or two, but they really gotta think more o' this through!
It's even weirder because I don't remember Mandalorian looking this cheap. Boba Fett had similar problems but so far Obi-wan looks like the cheapest production of all the Star Wars TV shows.
@@ANGELOFDARKification I'd call it more...uneven than outright cheap? Like, a bundle of sets and scenes look grande, but man are there a few that stick out like big sore awkward thumbs.
@@Flailkerrin When we see Obi-wan doing his job for the first time, that is, cutting mega-salmon with a saw (!), there's an extra next to him, very much in full view, who during the whole scene is standing soooo awkwardly still... As if the extra hadn't heard 'action' called out...
@@manfromanywhere Oooh! I didn't spot that one, and I love paying attention to background for those kinda things, good catch! You seen the guy sweeping the air in Quantum of Solace? That's one o' my favourites.
I really wanted to like this show, and I definitely do like some aspects of it, but some of the decisions that they've made in the directing and screenplay just leave me shaking my head in frustration. Maybe they'll turn it around in the last 3 episodes, but so far it's a big ol' meh for me.
Every time Jimmy smitts is on screen or mentioned on the pod all I can think of is when the guys spawned him in to help against doooku and just gets instantly cut down
Jimmy's now 66 years old. Of course an old non force user's gonna not last very long. Also it's funny how Leia quips about how Kenobi could be his grand dad while her actual dad Jimmy Smits is 66
I almost laughed out loud when Vader said "you should have killed me when you had the chance" Me and my friends love to jokingly use that line since it's used so often, and hearing it from Darth vader just broke me.
I'm SO glad I'm not the only one that's annoyed that they keep clearly using the hills outside of LA to shoot different "planets" because, like, I'm FROM California and it's so jarring to see that landscape used in Star Wars 😂😂😂
I’ve been looking for someone talking about this and nobody would say it. Those cali scenes destroyed my immersion so much and made it look like a fan film
@@jamesgrottano5583 Yeah me too even tho i don't even live in the US lmao. It reminded me of the old Doctor Who episodes where half of the "different planets" were shot in quarries in the Wales because they had no budget
I also noticed the "problem" with the volume, and I also wonder if the pandemic had something to do with it as well. The end scene after Vader just let Obi-wan get away and the _really_ slow hauler droid carried him like 100 meters away and put him down was just odd...like, even if Vader didn't feel like putting the fire out again, why wouldn't the Storm Troopers just walk around the fire and get him? ;) There were a few other spots in the first two episodes that felt like that, a bit claustrophobic even though they were "outside", where the Mandalorian and even the Book of Boba didn't, so I'm guessing the pandemic played a bigger role than just volume...or maybe the time crunch they had on filming? Regardless of why, it's definitely there.
Is it not that wrap around screen thing they use instead of a green screen? That must limit the space the characters can inhabit, even if the setting is seemingly spacious.
That scene wasnt executed very well. Even if Vader is actively letting him get away for a better fight down the line or something like that maybe the stormtroopers should be shooting and HITTING the droid, chasing them, the droid has to pay off that hammer holding scene, and theyre just barely getting away, maybe other things are exploding to give them more cover, something besides "oh nooooo theyre getting awaaay, as long as we dont do anything to stop them which we will not be doing"
@@mediumvillain Yeah, my feeling exactly, instead it felt very much like "oh, she started the same fire again? Oh well, whatcha gonna do, time go home everyone." ;)
Honestly I think they just don't want to put in the effort. The leap in quality during the Mando episodes in Boba Fett made me think, wait, the show could have looked this good the whole time??? The Volume is an amazing piece of technology, but it won't save you from lousy practical effects, bad art design, and poor storyboarding.
Obi Wan needed to shoot out the laser barrier after fighting the stormtroopers, when they could have just walked left or right a few feet. I find that infinitely more weird than the fire scene. Later on at the quarry, Vader tells the trooper to get Kenobi, and then Vader sees a blaster from the distance and a robot shows up to help. Vader must have instantly become more interested in the others than the weakened Kenobi. I don't think it fantastic, but it works in my mind. I think Vader could have pulled the ship back in Rogue One, but didn't. Almost all Jedi/sith scenes I usually think other things could/should have been done. Kenobi could have force-fast run to get away from Vader, for example, but that only can be done in Phantom Menace and never again for some reason.
I think at the end Obi-Wan and Vader will have another duel, but that time Kenobi will be reconnected with the Force, and win. Because of Vader's line in New Hope: "Last time we met I was but a learner, now I am the master." If this duel here would be that last time, I'd say Vader is already the master. Many has this theory that Vader probably imagined this duel a lot of times, and then he was disappointed. Not different than killing any random person, there's no catharsis for him in this one sided duel. He wants to properly beat Kenobi to show he's truly the Master. I wouldn't mind a short scene where Vader gets some harsh words from Palpatine for intentionally letting Kenobi escape.
@@philippowell8273 yea I think thats what he meant. In all honesty though that line can easily be tossed aside in a franchise this old I can excuse smaller plot holes like this
Yeah my guess is he dropped Kenobi back into the drink like a small fish. Just not satisfying enough to settle 10 years of bile (and a decade of resentment before that fostered by Palpatine see also "I hate you!"), so he lets Kenobi go hoping to goad him into shape for a more satisfying end. Vader is definitely much more philosophical by ANH regarding his antagonism.
@@philippowell8273 That makes no sense. It’s literally not the last time they met then. Unless Kenobi shows up with the force 100% behind him, then it’s a retcon to drive this particular show & throws ANH out of whack.
Alright. The pairing of the phrase "multi-directional treadmill" with a picture of a member of One Direction on a one-directional treadmill. The editing in these videos goes above and beyond.
Jury's out for me until they resolve why Leia's message in a New Hope "General Kenobi, years ago you served my father in the Clone Wars..." doesn't also reference them going on an adventure when she was 10!
Yeah, that bugged me, but she could also just be reminding Obi Wan of his service as a soldier and that he needs to be a soldier once more. It's how I'm trying to reconcile it, at least. 🤔
I can see it as a more formal statement and a call to action. Of course none of this was planned so it is rewriting the subtext of the dialogue but if the writing is good then I’m all for it.
She thinks he's just some guy named Ben. Since they've been together, I don't recall one time his last name being mentioned. So "General Kenobi" may indeed be a stranger to her just as much as Kenobi can't recall ever owning a droid
Later in ep 4 she says to Luke "Ben Kenobi is here?", so she's definitely more familiar with him than she let's on in her message. Thing is, she is a diplomat, she couldn't be sure no one else intercepted the message in R2, so it makes total sense she passes it off like Obi-Wan was just someone her dad served with. Plausible deniability and all that. This was not a galaxy where you want to record messages admitting to having a personal connection with a Jedi.
Quinlan Voss was one of the only characters George Lucas told comic/novel writers for the expanded universe they couldn’t touch… I believe he was meant to be the main character of a live-action show being planned in the late 90’s
"They wouldn't bring in Hayden Christensen just to stand off in the distance..." They might. But only because Hayden isn't just teasing his appearance, he's also in the suit and providing the voice performance with the help of AI too. I wouldn't be surprised if they finish this series out without showing Vader's face clearly. Vader's face represents his humanity, and that shouldn't be shown when he's still fully evil. We shouldn't see his face clearly until he shows it to Luke. It's not like this is The Mandalorian, and they can have a character arc where Vader learns that it's OK to let people see his face.
Having him physically in the suit is a mistake in my opinion. Because he’s just not big enough. Darth Vader supposed to be physically portrayed by someone who is like 6’5 and weighs 250 pounds. Hayden is not that. He looks small in the suit..
His face has been exposed before while hes in the suit, in the Ahsoka-Vader fight at the end of Season 2 of Rebels. Not by his choice of course but it was there. I'm expecting something like that if it is gonna come, but i don't want it to take away from that moment.
As far as I can tell, Hayden isn’t the voice of Vader at all in this. James Earl Jones seems to have recorded all of the lines, and then Respeecher is using AI to make him sound more like he did when he was younger.
The damaged Hayden voice through the mask is a fun idea cuz they did something similar in Rebels when Vader fights Ahsoka, she slashes a hole in his mask and you see Anakin’s eyes and hear his “normal” voice
I like that she looks normal, not even necessarily intimidating. Makes sense leia trusted her, she's the only Inquisitor that doesn’t look like a cyborg demon nazi
@@teodellorcio4590 half of the universe looks messed up. In episode 3 she had no issue walking up star nose mole face cab driver. I don’t think her looking normal had much to do with it.
My problem is that she isn't fun to watch because she doesn't DO anything. We're led to believe that she is somehow more competent than her peers, but they've never actually shown us that. The most she's done is come up with a scheme to lure out Kenobi, which worked by absolute chance, and parkour across a city scape. The latter had me laughing, because it was so clearly a "look at this badass! parkour is awesome!" moment yet was ultimately pointless. She didn't even catch up to Obi-wan after all that effort.
I heard someone on StarWarsTheory say that this show feels like a fan film. The lighting and camera work kinda feels cheap, and the acting really isn’t up to par with Ewan McGregor. I also don’t find the plot to be paced well.
Starting with the postives I think Ewan Mcquegor's performance is fantastic, his emotion and brokenness is very real. Uncle Owen is another standout and I really feel like we should've stayed on tatooine just because of his dynamic with Obi wan. young Leia for the most part is pretty good as far as child actors go and her dynamic with Obi wan is actually really interesting. Seeing Bail organa again is always a treat. The inquistors bickering and fighting for power is interesting but is brought down by Reva. Rupert Friend as Grand Inquistor actually surprised and his performance was great....until his "death" and shafting to make room for Reva. Vader is terrifying and really feels like hayden's anakin under there. Postives aside, I have three complaints, Reva's character tries way to hard, and I don't like the fact the only reason they "killed" the Grand Inquistor was to make room for her more. I'm hoping her character becomes like an Ashoka in the sense she begins ambitious and annoying until she is put in her place to where she becomes more level headed and calculating. my other two complaints are what you said in your video, volume and space. The fight scenes seem clausterphoic and not in a oldboy hallway scene way, and the choreography and space seems small even though its trying to be huge. Im guessing this is due to covid restrictions and the pandemic but it could just be poor direction, but I would like to give Chow the benefit of the doubt. Overall I like the show so far, I just really hope they stick the landing.
They're introducing Big Bacta as a setup for eventually doing the Bacta Wars arc from the X-Wing books and introducing Ysanne Isard the most evil Star Wars character. (It's a great time for a plague story, right? Right?)
Aside from the Monty Python sketch of 3 grown mercenaries chasing a very young looking 10 year old through a forest to Benny Hill music I have liked it so far.
First thing first, I'm not a fan of the sequels and I unironically love the Prequels, so I'm biased no doubt about it. BUT, making a comparison to Kenobi, being in isolation broken defeated losing his touch with the Force, and Luke being in isolation broken defeated losing his touch with the Force is not the same because the way it was written, the reason it happened and the way it was portrayed in the movie. Obi wan pain felt real and justified and Luke pain felt like a plot point the writers decided to create.
Yea the difference between traumatic event onscreen and offscreen makes a worlds of difference. If return of the jedi would have ended horribly for luke or episode 7 would have had leia telling about his failures it might have held up better
Dunno man, when you're treated like you're the last hope for the jedi and you've defeated the biggest bad in the universe while confirming you were right all along (Vader's 'redemption'), then you go on to create a place where the jedi can finally reestablish themselves, fulfilling all these expectations your mentors had for you, but through your own hubris/negligence you miss the seduction of your own nepehw, and your lack of faith in your nephew is a significant reason he burns down the academy you created (the symbol for your successes and everyone's faith in you) and also seduces other pupils (the stewards of the future jedi prosperity), it would do something to ya... Disenfranchisement, lack of faith in yourself, nihilism among some. Even if you don't like it, is there anything wrong there? Or rather, how much do you think I've read into what we were shown. To me, the original trilogy (the expectations and fulfilment of those expectations) significantly impacts how Luke deals with Ben's turn.
@@Dilmahkana ok see I read your whole thesis and you never made an actual point about how Luke could have possibly turned out the way he did except “high expectations” like Luke’s whole character in tlj depends on the assumption that Luke just somehow forgot that he redeemed one of the most evil people in the galaxy, and that it happens because, what, because the Jedi before him had lost their way? Wasn’t the whole point of Rotj that Luke had risen above the earlier Jedi by redeeming his father when two of those Jedi simply wanted him dead?
@@Dilmahkana part of Luke’s character arc in the original trilogy is getting past hubris, losing his arrogance and obtaining humility. The luke we see in a new hope is not the luke we see in rotj. The purpose of a sequel is to build on what the original did, not tear it down completely
@@cezarjulian0320 haha don't rag me for writing too much. I'm trying to convince you, if it took a sentence then it wouldn't be a discussion. Overall, I think the arc is 'a character who did the impossible once fails big time in the future and becomes disillusioned, questioning everything which once worked.' The same arc Obi wan is on. Basically everything has fallen apart in the outside world, but also inside, what he himself was sure about has disintegrated. Very similar to Xavier in X-men: Days of Future Past. It's not just that Luke had high expectations placed 'upon' him, but he met and had risen to those expectations (the original trilogy), he must be fucking confident that he's the man to lead the jedi forward (his own internal motivation is solid). But somehow, even through his character development, (the original trilogy) he still failed 1: to realise Ben's seduction 2: to respond in the way he should/could have 3: to turn Kylo back (like he did Vader) 4: to lead the jedi into the future 5: protect and train his family too. Even after his journey through the original trilogy and building the jedi academy, he still fucked up. Wasn't he doing it right? Wasn't he 'the' jedi? The best? Didn't his original trilogy trials confirm he's the best? He still fucked up. His internal motivation is shaken to its core, he became disillusioned by the jedi way (the thing that lead him to do the impossible, but also maybe lead him to fail)
I think they did get James Earl Jones back in to record new dialogue and had the Respeecher software smooth it over to make him sound younger. It sounds too natural for it to be 100% digital.
I think if you're looking at this objectivley, it isn't doing great. Feels messy and writing isn't the best. I understand that a lot of hate comes from a section of people who are always mad, but plenty of fans aren't loving this either. Seems that every legit criticism of the show is met with Harshness.
@@malteaser It's the same with all of Disney Star Wars: the writers making the actors look bad through bad writing. To me Leia is the worst part of the show because she acts like she is 10 years older than she really is in every scene and I find that really annoying for some reason. I'm not even sure why she needs to be in the show, unless they really are trying to retcon episode 4. She's in the show just for the sake of being in the show.
Two things can be true: 1)personally attacking actors like Moses Ingram is weird and trash behavior (unfortunately seen many times in Star Wars) 2) using actual social issues to deflect legit critique of a show/film is also weird and trash behavior Edit: Horrible racist, sexist. etc “fans” need to be called out and that should go without saying. But don’t use those issues to get mad at me for not thinking a show/film you like is a masterpiece. We keep seeing this over and over again with the D+ mcu/Star Wars content
@@TheMrCHELL I’ve been a little let down. Seems to be a running theme with the D+ shows for me tbh. Just feels like content and this Obi Wan show should have been a film and given the real cinematic treatment it deserves
@@s7robin105and that’s what point #1 of my comment addresses. But you’re being willfully blind if you think there’s not instances all over social media (especially Twitter) where legit critiques are dismissed as “toxic fanboy racist sexism”. Doing that because you can’t handle someone not thinking something you like is a masterpiece is trash
Personally I read Vader standing infront of the fire as contemplation on not only finding Kenobi but also thinking on how weak he is and how to kill him
My biggest disappointment with Obi-Wan Kenobi is the utter lack of memorable musical compositions. In fact, the forgettable nature of John Williams’ new theme for the character leaves me wondering why they didn’t simply use the established (and loved) Force/Ben Kenobi theme? Likewise, how the hell do you reintroduce Darth Vader to live action Star Wars and not use hid theme? WTF?!? Are Disney trying to avoid paying royalties for the use of that existing musical material?
I personally really like the new soundtracks. They are all somewhat similar to the respective OT character themes we know and love, but diverge from them enough to show that they are not evolved to that state of character yet. But I can see that others might not like this change as the new themes are Not as iconic as the originals
The score during the Vader fight was awful. Plain silence would have genuinely been better than generic action scene music. SERIOUSLY. Fuck, everything on Disney+ is just regressing at this point.
I think the difference is that we’ve already seen an old obi-wan being dejected on a distant planet in his original appearance, so when people watched his youthful badassery they knew he would grow old and change. With Luke, we only see him at his most heroic and main-character-y, so people extrapolated that out to his whole life and were disappointed. Alternatively, Star Wars fans have spent so much energy being mad about things that don’t matter that they’ve all burnt out
Well it makes more sense with Kenobi. We've seen him go through the fall of the Republic, the jedi, death of all his friends, and horrors by the hand of his own apprentice. He also believe most of it is his fault for failing Anakin. With Luke we left him at his best at the end of ROTJ and everything explaining his "retirement" happened off-screen. It was just so jarring of a change and the explanation for it was really meh
if ur talking about jumping over that fire in episode 3, why the hell didnt he just use force push on the fire again like he did like 20 seconds earlier! lmao
The Darth Vader voice really feels like it has James Earl Jones’ voice with Christensen/Anakin’s speech pattern. Maybe I’m remembering wrong, but I don’t feel like I remember Darth Vader in the OT pausing so much in the middle of sentences. I do remember Anakin doing that in the prequels, though.
It's my understanding they are using a voice generator technology to recreate his voice. I was wondering why it sounded more like it did in the originals versus how James Earl Jones sounds in Rogue One.
It’s good to see Kenobi played as a real man, one with fears and anxiety. He was far to much of a superhero in the prequels. Enjoying this series a lot.
I thought Vader's voice sounded amazing in this, I remember from Rogue One thinking that his voice sounded so old (and rightly so because James Earl Jones IS old). For this show, whatever they did made the voice fit much better with the original trilogy.
My only problem with Reva is that she does not have the typical evil Sith look whereas all the other Inquisitors do. Reva just looks like a very normal person wearing a black suit.
My worst fears have come true about this show: The Writing: is below subpar and mediocre. The dialogue is so generic and clichéd and there are way too many contrivances that take place for things to happen in this show. And worst of all, the entire thing just feels so boring. There is no nuance in the story. I'm not expecting game of thrones level writing. But this is so utterly mediocre. The directing: I hate to say it. But Deborah chow is not cut out to direct this. The entire thing feels like a fan film. The action scenes are pathetic. The shaky cam is ridiculous. The sets look so cheap, it never feels like these are real places they're visiting. The Music: What is up with all the generic action movie music? There are moments which should be creepy and tense but instead you have this awful bombastic drama music in place. Where is the element of Williams mysterious and powerful music? It's downright shameful that we don't have even a single moment where the imperial march theme plays given that this is as much a Vader centric show as it is Obi wan. Cinematography: People defend the cheap look saying it's due to the budget but I disagree. There are countless forms of media that have low budgets but make it for it in great practical effects and smart use of film techniques. This is just lack of talent and effort. I'm not expecting every shot to look like a painting (like arcane), but this looks unforgivably boring. The shaky cam especially is ridiculous. It makes every scene look like a fan film. Important moments: All of the concepts that should be explored by this show are so surface level. Obi wans PTSD is just scratched upon. Everyone has a different opinion on why he does things the way he does because none of it is thoroughly explored. People are filling in the blanks with their own reasoning and characterisation from previous media. This show doesn't contribute to any of the added characterisation. The first time Obi wan realises Vader lives should be a earth shattering revelation. But aside from Ewan's amazing acting, the scene felt so rushed with Reva just blurting it out (It's insulting that she knows tbh, Vader better kill her). Their first confrontation was absolutely bare bones. The action was laughably slow and boring. And the actual dialogue was just the bare minimum they could have done. People are praising them for having lines which anybody could think of. There is no ounce of grandeur like the older films. The presentation is so lacklustre. The inquisitors feel like teenagers bickering over each other, trying desperately to feel intimidating. Why are their entrances so lame? They should be inspiring fear everywhere they go but you see people in the crowd just walking around casually not giving a shit. A Scene Comparison: Remember the Vader bacta tank scene in rogue one. The music is subtle and ominous, you hear Vader's breath and see his figure come out of the smoke. As the bacta tank empties, you don't see his entire face but just enough to see the terrifying expression and the damage he took. The music is subtle throughout. Then there's the amazing entrance with vaders gigantic shadow towering over the director. It's fantastic visual storytelling. The light version of the imperial march as he walks towards Krenic is perfectly intimidating. Cut to the bacta tank scene in this show. The music is obnoxiously loud and blaring, the liquid looks cheap and out of focus. While I think Hayden looks incredible a Vader, a full shot of his face removes any iota of mystery to the character. The original trilogy was always careful not to show his face for this reason. All in all, this is the worst of Disney. Three more episodes won't fix this because it's an issue with the core. While this show isn't nearly as horrible as Boba Fett. This show will be forgotten a couple of months. I'm heartbroken. I was absolutely looking forward to this. Been a star wars fan since I was 5, but this isn't star wars.
This pretty much sums up my feelings for this show. It confuses me because mandalorian season 2 was amazing in terms of direction, acting and production value, which showed how good a star wars show on TV could be. I don't understand why a show on this scale considering ewan is in it can be this ameturish. There's just so many clunky editing moments.
Funny you mention fan films, because it's no exaggeration to say that this fan film from 2019 is better than this Disney series, and I'm sure the fan film's entire budget wouldn't have covered the Disney's project's craft table costs. ua-cam.com/video/3uDwjIBR9s4/v-deo.html
@@musayibghani3986 Honestly mate, you might disagree with this, I thought mandalorian season 1 was pretty great. But Season 2 also had the same issues. It was just sidequest galore and character cameos with the same contrived writing and plot armor. You might notice these issues on a second watch.
I absolutely think that Vader wants Obi-Wan to be on the run, afraid for his life, until his last hopes are finally extinguished. 10 years into a life of suffering as Vader and I don't think he wants any shred of mercy for his old friend
@@emiach You know what really doesn’t make any sense? Lord Vader and Obi-Wan even meeting before a New Hope. `When last we met, I was but a learner, now I am the master.’ Also did the Inquisitors hide Leia’s existence from Vader? He didn’t know she was his daughter until Return of the Jedi. He didn’t even know their relation when he was torturing her in a New Hope. If they didn’t know who she was, how did they know kidnapping her would make Obi-Wan come out of hiding?
@@TWiTCH757 In terms of the question about hiding Leia, I’d say just wait till the series has finished to see how that plays out and that quote from Vader in a New Hope is vague enough where they can have another duel in this and I think the way they’re going with it so far won’t be breaking the continuity massively
@@Rennies-World That isn’t even really the point. How did the First Sister know about the connection between Leia and Obi-Wan? If she knew about that, she probably knew who she really was.
As a lifelong Star Wars fan of over 2 decades, who has gone through multiple periods of denial and subsequent acceptance to deal with the vastly changing quality of this universe I can't stop loving (and the fucking abhorrent fan base that continues to make me feel ashamed at each new release), the consistent coverage of Star Wars by you guys as "Mason points out x plot hole/poor continuity between stories, James quietly mentions y fix that was created by some talented EU author that no one outside of obsessive fans know, before swiftly moving the conversation on." I relate strongly, you're both great and hilarious in discussing this franchise and it's fan base with the appropriate tone and laid back enjoyment of what there is to enjoy. Thank you for being you guys after all these years :)
I feel exactly the same. I'm not sure what it is (maybe because the're Australian), but a lot of other internet people take their own opinion too seriously. Like everything has to be a hill to die on or something.
So far, I’m not LOVING this series, but I feel it’s alright. And as far as the Darth Vader letting Obi-Wan get away, I thought of it as Vader letting Obi-Wan escape to get stronger, because their current fight was maybe a bit of a disappointment for Vader; maybe he wants Obi-Wan to actually be a decent enough fight before Vader kills him…?
In that case the writers didn't need to include "random Imperial woman" saving Kenobi again, for the second time that episode. Vader could have said something and walked away, leaving him injured.
That sort of echoes the problem with the whole series because it’s a prequel. We know ultimately what’s going to happen. So there isn’t much drama. It’s not like anybody thinks Darth Vader is going to kill Obi-Wan.
I would have bought that, if not for all the ways the show tried to sell that there was TOTALLY no way for Vader to get to Kenobi. The stormtroopers all yelling that "There's no way around!". If they really wanted to show that Vader was letting Kenobi go, they could have easily done that explicitly. And if they wanted to create a scenario for Ben to escape, then they could have put Vader IN the fire, holding it back with the force. Instead of in front of him in a knee height ditch.
It is now apart of my head-canon that when Bacta first came to be readily available for general use in the Star Wars universe, the campaign slogan would read something along the lines of... "Bacta: The Future"
Doesn't really meet my expectations honestly, I've seen fan projects done better. The acting's great but the direction and action sequences seem so amateurish. E.g. Leia chase scenes, rooftop parkour and jogging through the quarry while getting chased by Vader. It just feels really careless.

@@TheManOnTheStreetOMG yeah that's one, and it's not better 😂 it's good and it's fan fiction but it's not better that the show, it's just what you wanted it's a fan fiction it plays into what a fan would want
Nope. I's actually kind of bad in some spots. Badly directed in a few scenes, unintentionally funny, introduces kid Leia not only because it's the safest formula for our roughed up protagonist to go through his character arc but also because we have to introduce another thing that fans can recognize... It just feels... awkward. The showrunner also said that the show was going to be a character study similar to Logan, but the difference is that Logan was generally a slower burn which made his predicament more believable and grounded while Obi-Wan just feels like any other Star Wars show. If there's a Star Wars show that should've been great it's this one, and I'm really said that it isn't. Also, Obi-Wan meeting Darth Vader kind of ruins continuity and negates all meaning to their encounter in A New Hope.
I was honestly so glad that you guys actually had positive things to say about this show. People seem to really hate it, but I don't really understand why. Sure, some of the writing isn't great and I don't love all of the characters, but we're still only halfway through and I'd say that I've enjoyed most of it so far. It's far from perfect, but I genuinely don't understand why there's so much hate.
Its fine that you enjoyed it but if you don't understand why most people hate it then thats really a you problem. RotS is my favourite SW film but I understand why others don't like it. Kenobi is a horrible show that is indicative of the modern writer mentality.
At least we now know that the force, like storm trooper blasters, are useless when there are some flames in the way. Overall, I’ve enjoyed watching, just a little frustrated.
What’s strange to me is In what 15 years Ewan McGregor is supposed to transform into Alec Guinness seems like they could have started to grey him up maybe he’ll start to grey up by the end of the show
15 years is a long time for aging. check out the film lawrance of arabia which alec guinness stared in 15 years before a new hope and is just middle aged.
They've definitely aged him up. Maybe not in the hair yet, but in the face for sure. But it's subtle, which is rare. The hair is definitely lighter than how McGregor has it. Maybe the series will stress him out so much that he'll go gray super fast.
I honestly think it's fairly realistic. A lot of kids are an odd mix of oddly mature yet childish. They hear adults saying stuff, ask random questions and slowly build up their knowledge of the world around them, whilst seeing that world through their perspective, and at the end of the day they're still kids who can get suddenly spooked and anxious. Honestly it makes sense as well that initially this child doesn't have a choice, this guy is apparently their to rescue her and she gets a good vibe from him, but then when she sees him acting in a way she didn't expect she really starts to question him and realises she doesn't actually know for sure if she can trust this guy, she's literally a 9 year old
@@goten339 Her getting rescued (very stressful situation at any age I image), then wondering around like a tourist at Disney world (I get being curious but you are still not safe and were just kidnapped) seems sudden. Then she finds out she is not the main target so she runs away from the one person on her side? You are right about how kids act but they didn't do a good job of convey that in my opinion. Good chatting with you!
My favourite parts include when Obi Wan is talking with Leia. I think it's really interesting to see their connection, especially how it leads to Leia viewing Ben as her "only hope" years down the line. I also really liked the scenes where Obi Wan talks about Padme, or when Leia reminds him of her mother.
@@wolfgangrecordings it definitely is, I think that's likely just down to the natural tangle of details when the universe started really expanding. I always wondered what it would be like to see Leia truly unlocking her force potential in Canon but I guess Disney ruined that with the sequels lol
You would think in a universe where they can make super advanced robot limbs they’d have a better solution for Darth Vader than just “live in a tank and then a big suit that sounds like a scuba diver” XD no wonder he’s in a bad mood all the time
yea in Canon, he could've been given a much better suit but Palpatine gave him one w outdated, ancient sith technology to keep him in pain all the time
I'm enjoying it, my favourite scene being the back of the pick up truck with obi wan, leia and the troopers . But can definitely agree the Director, not knowing how to shoot action well. The chase and duel scenes were lacking impact.
The ‘small stage’ thing was worst when Vader let Obi Wan escape. I mean Vader was force lifting Obi Wan before, yet doesnt bother force pushing the droid, or putting the fire out or even just walking around the bloody fire… It breaks my suspension of disbelief and pulls me out of the story as dumb stuff like that keep happening.
I felt the same. If they had used the explosion to knock everyone to the ground, at least it could have been plausible for the droid to get obi wan out.
@@marshall3n disagree vader is an apex predator and wanted to instill a shit ton of fear into him. he wants to saviour punishing kenobi and he wasn't satisfied when he saw how weak he had become. its so obviously building to a much bigger better fight
For me, not so much As much as I love to see Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen reprising their roles, so far, the series has had lots of moments that have left me scratching my head, I guess its my fault, I don't know why I keep getting my expectations so high, I keep forgetting it's still Disney
Same. I think I was hoping for a more intimate story- something that expands tattoine lore and expands on Luke and Ben's relationship. Maybe explain why Owen pushed Ben away? Instead they needed to dig through the well of nostalgia again instead of doing something new. An escort mission is all Disney seems to do with star wars.
It’s pretty good. I’d give it three stars overall. Honestly one of my issues that holds it back from greatness is that being a prequel the stakes are not very high. You know that Obi-Wan is not going to die, and obviously neither is Vader because we have to fast forward to a New Hope eventually. So there’s not that much drama here as a result.
It`s pointless. As most prequels are. Andor`s taking the cake though: A prequel series to a prequel with the least interesting character of said movie in the lead.
Nonetheless, it could be a great prequel series, alike Better Call Saul. This could genuinely be an Obi-Wan Kenobi story, instead of an adventure driven story.
I have the bad feeling that they're going to bring back Owen as Obi-Wan's brother. Like he was in the extended universe novels back in the day. And I'll just... hate it.
In the novelization and therefore pre-shooting script) of A New Hope, Owen was Obi-Wan's brother in law. Which makes his attitude towards Ben in ANH make more sense.
I haven't heard of that actor playing the inquisitor getting hate like that. Unfortunate. I thought the character and actor came across kinda flat...but I attribute that to the fact that she's playing opposite Ewan McGregor. They haven't really shared scenes. But it cuts from McGregor being a great actor in role with history/lore he's had plenty of time to become familiar with and personally contribute to...to a character and actor I'm unfamiliar with and is substantially less profound in contrast. I'm not saying the writers or actors are doing poorly, it's just that that storyline/characters is less likely to hold up to McGregor doing a great job at a character with more to work with and primary focus to the mainplot.
@@CrossOutBryce I can't imagine what kind of point they're hoping to make. What difference does the race of an actor make in a story that takes place long ago in a galaxy far far away? Idk. Sounds like some people just kinda suck
also when the character is introduced, she is introduced with two far more interesting looking alien characters. It kinda fits into her story because she is suppose to be the odd one out of the inquisitors but I agree the whole character just feels kinda lackluster and unnecessary. the story does not need a central bad guy like that. as the antagonist is suppose to be obiwan as he is in conflict with himself and the physical representation of that would be vader.
Yeah that was cool, and it seemed like he was in pain too, like it physically affected and even hurt him to do it even though it was a relatively simple thing, because his connection to the force is so severely diminished.
This is such a refreshing take on the show, a fair judgement and not just irrational hatred of the tiny details. You acknowledge that it is a show with a budget and still manages to get big name actors to reprise their roles; it's a little all over the place now, but it's still too early to judge it for that, it may tie it all up. The problems it has are not totally heinous and what works works fairly well.
10:14 my buddies and I laughed when we saw this horrible chase scene. Why wouldn't this person just duck under the branch? They run into it like they're blind or something.
I think they should put the volume in a big room and rig something where the walls of the volume can move around the floor of the big room. So if someone is running in a scene, they just run and the volume moves with them. It's probably very expensive, impractical and possibly dangerous but it's at least a solution.
I loved it, like I think most people. Although oddly this early comment section is largely the opposite. People were expecting Episode 3 lightsaber duels, and they're daft for expecting that.
No one was expecting episode three light saber duel. They were expecting A lightsaber duel. The reva chick is diversity shoved down people’s throats, the fact that obi wan is a bumbling fool and reva is a genius is horseshit. It doesn’t work as a stand-alone nor a part of a greater story. It’s a dumpster fire that should of been the greatest thing ever but it’s just more Disney Star Wars garbage
If like to think I'm not the only one who said. 'Why is he Letting Obi Wan GO?', and 'How the HELL did she get Infront of Laia?' lol (No spoilers, just a guess) she's not going to take her. She wants to find Obi not for evil intent, but to get answers for the night the Jedi fell.
Yes those were my questions after the episode as well. The thing with Vader letting Obi-Wan go though, is that I was questioning whether that was actually the film makers intent, or if they really wanted to portray it as a narrow escape but just did a poor job. And as a film maker, you never want to leave your audience with a lingering question that maybe they just did a poor job...

The biggest issue I had with the Vader fight was how chill Vader was. You'd think he'd be full of rage and anger, it played more like this was his third or fourth time seeing him. We've seen Vader lazily fighting with one had before to signify how underpowered the opponent is, how much more interesting would it be to have a Vader that looses his cool and goes all out, not lazily swatting at each other. Hopefully the inevitable rematch in the last episode is better.
My own reading of that was that he’s almost taunting him. Last time he saw obi wan they went toe-to-toe and he lost, now he can overpower him with a single hand.
they should have to use a kolto tank, some leftover old republic tech, and the slightly less functional tank could be the reason he ages faster from this point forward.
I have a theory: Vader doesn't have the two swollen scars on his face yet, I reckon both of those will be given to him by obi-wan and that's how we'll get our Anakin face reveal.
Quinlan Vos ends up partnered with Aasajj Ventress, and Ventress was Obi-Wan's primary rival in the clone wars. They escaped Darth Maul together and she never got a good conclusion to her story. Not to take away from the incredible work that Respeecher has done but I worked for Replica Studios an AI Voice Cloning company for a couple years and we noticed that if a voice replication isn't perfect in terms of clarity and tone quality (especially in the early days) it's possible to mask imperfections using effects. Darth Vader's voice is through his helmet which has a slightly robotic filter applied to it so that would have helped.

I also noticed the "problem" with the volume, and I also wonder if the pandemic had something to do with it as well. The end scene after Vader just let Obi-wan get away and the _really_ slow hauler droid carried him like 100 meters away and put him down was just odd...like, even if Vader didn't feel like putting the fire out again, why wouldn't the Storm Troopers just walk around the fire and get him? ;)
There were a few other spots in the first two episodes that felt like that, a bit claustrophobic even though they were "outside", where the Mandalorian and even the Book of Boba didn't, so I'm guessing the pandemic played a bigger role than just volume...or maybe the time crunch they had on filming?

My favourite part was when obi wan was trying to hide and Vader was able to surprise him by hiding out of camera frame.

they've already done that in disney star wars, it happens when asoka duels vader in rebels
ManBearVader
Nailed it.
He says “when I left you I was but the learner, now I am the master”
Can still mean the Mustafar duel if he means leaving him as his apprentice.

@Thomas Denning you're close to impossible to talk if that's your opening gambit haha

Reva has the force power to know where an underground tunnel ultimately leads and teleport herself there so she can kill the pilot and kidnap Leia?
This show has been the absolute epitome of mediocre in most aspects and just plan trash in the rest of it.
B*tchy nitpicking
I heard someone on StarWarsTheory say that this show feels like a fan film. The lighting and camera work kinda feels cheap, and the acting really isn’t up to par with Ewan McGregor. I also don’t find the plot to be paced well.
All of Star Wars after OT feels like fan films and fanfiction.
“What have you become” & “I am what you made me” … double meanings, both that he is burned up in the suit, but also that obi wan failed him. love it
Starting with the postives I think Ewan Mcquegor's performance is fantastic, his emotion and brokenness is very real.
Hahahahaha, well said. Lmao
Any muricans out there reading python as ‘PiE tHaWn’ lol
Uncle Owen’s scene is cool though, shows some real courage against the Inquisitors and snark against Obi Wan.
They didn't lol
I think if you're looking at this objectivley, it isn't doing great. Feels messy and writing isn't the best. I understand that a lot of hate comes from a section of people who are always mad, but plenty of fans aren't loving this either. Seems that every legit criticism of the show is met with Harshness.
We also get a pretty good look at Alderan in Star Wars: The Old Republic
But in a series like this is feels more canon, especially for more casual fans who really dont know much about Alderan
I think the girl that played Leia did an amazing job.
I think she did what she was told, it just sucks that the writers and directors decided to tell her to do a dumb thing that makes her look bad
I agree!! But acting performance is only half the battle
she's adorable
@@malteaser It's the same with all of Disney Star Wars: the writers making the actors look bad through bad writing. To me Leia is the worst part of the show because she acts like she is 10 years older than she really is in every scene and I find that really annoying for some reason. I'm not even sure why she needs to be in the show, unless they really are trying to retcon episode 4. She's in the show just for the sake of being in the show.
Especially at outrunning grown men at full pelt.
Two things can be true:
1)personally attacking actors like Moses Ingram is weird and trash behavior (unfortunately seen many times in Star Wars)
2) using actual social issues to deflect legit critique of a show/film is also weird and trash behavior
Edit: Horrible racist, sexist. etc “fans” need to be called out and that should go without saying. But don’t use those issues to get mad at me for not thinking a show/film you like is a masterpiece. We keep seeing this over and over again with the D+ mcu/Star Wars content

Personally I read Vader standing infront of the fire as contemplation on not only finding Kenobi but also thinking on how weak he is and how to kill him
Ditto
My biggest disappointment with Obi-Wan Kenobi is the utter lack of memorable musical compositions. In fact, the forgettable nature of John Williams’ new theme for the character leaves me wondering why they didn’t simply use the established (and loved) Force/Ben Kenobi theme? Likewise, how the hell do you reintroduce Darth Vader to live action Star Wars and not use hid theme? WTF?!? Are Disney trying to avoid paying royalties for the use of that existing musical material?
They must have forgot to buy the rights 😂 yes its so distracting
I personally really like the new soundtracks. They are all somewhat similar to the respective OT character themes we know and love, but diverge from them enough to show that they are not evolved to that state of character yet.
But I can see that others might not like this change as the new themes are Not as iconic as the originals
They made a big fuss about having a female composer, so there is your answer.
The score during the Vader fight was awful. Plain silence would have genuinely been better than generic action scene music. SERIOUSLY. Fuck, everything on Disney+ is just regressing at this point.
@@-_-5470 thats cool you like it, just felt some hints of classic characters themes would have been good too.
20:43 Darth Vader "I don't like fire. It's hot and irritating...and it gets everywhere"
I did notice the fans didn't react as harshly to Ben giving up after 10 years the way they did to Luke after 30 years
I think the difference is that we’ve already seen an old obi-wan being dejected on a distant planet in his original appearance, so when people watched his youthful badassery they knew he would grow old and change.
I agree with the spacing issues. When Vader lit the quarry it just felt like he could just walk around it. It made it feel like Vader was small
I love how everytime you both said “clunky” it showed a random scene of Greedo, that made me happy

I have a theory that the vader voice AI only sounded good for certain lines, which is why the fight has very little dialogue
It’s good to see Kenobi played as a real man, one with fears and anxiety. He was far to much of a superhero in the prequels. Enjoying this series a lot.
This should have been the Star Wars version of Logan but instead it's the Leia and Reva show.
I thought Vader's voice sounded amazing in this, I remember from Rogue One thinking that his voice sounded so old (and rightly so because James Earl Jones IS old). For this show, whatever they did made the voice fit much better with the original trilogy.
I don’t think it is coming close to expectations. The show should be called “Third Sister feat. Obi Wan
My only problem with Reva is that she does not have the typical evil Sith look whereas all the other Inquisitors do. Reva just looks like a very normal person wearing a black suit.
The inquisitors we've been shown seem to be all different species so seems okay to me. Not interesting, but okay.
They even managed to give Second Sister a menacing air in Fallen Order - just takes a little creativity and effort.
Guess it makes sense now, kinda
@@mikeclarke3990 haha glad to see some movement on your opinion!
When Obi-Wan first sees Vader, he not only is seeing his failed Palawan, but the combination of Maul, Dooku, and Grevious.
Fun fact Ewan’s brother is in the Royal Air Force and his call sign is “obi-two”
I won't even fact check, this is cannon now.
My worst fears have come true about this show:
The Writing: is below subpar and mediocre.
Some many words for unreflected whining

I absolutely think that Vader wants Obi-Wan to be on the run, afraid for his life, until his last hopes are finally extinguished. 10 years into a life of suffering as Vader and I don't think he wants any shred of mercy for his old friend
it’s implied he was desperately hunting Obi-Wan for 10 years so to let him escape because of a little fire makes no sense
@@emiach You know what really doesn’t make any sense? Lord Vader and Obi-Wan even meeting before a New Hope. `When last we met, I was but a learner, now I am the master.’ Also did the Inquisitors hide Leia’s existence from Vader? I feel exactly the same. I'm not sure what it is (maybe because the're Australian), but a lot of other internet people take their own opinion too seriously.
Like everything has to be a hill to die on or something.
So far, I’m not LOVING this series, but I feel it’s alright. And as far as the Darth Vader letting Obi-Wan get away, I thought of it as Vader letting Obi-Wan escape to get stronger, because their current fight was maybe a bit of a disappointment for Vader; maybe he wants Obi-Wan to actually be a decent enough fight before Vader kills him…?
@Ewan Callister kenobi should have been the one to fill his dark soul with light
🤣
Doesn't really meet my expectations honestly, I've seen fan projects done better. The acting's great but the direction and action sequences seem so amateurish. E.g. Leia chase scenes, rooftop parkour and jogging through the quarry while getting chased by Vader. It just feels really careless.

I feel like it's just: writing has moved on, as craft? It shouldn't be this clunky.
At least we now know that the force, like storm trooper blasters, are useless when there are some flames in the way.
Overall, I’ve enjoyed watching, just a little frustrated.
The repeated cut to Greedo for an unspoken reference to "Maclunky" dialogue is so good I made a mess, so thanks for that.
What’s strange to me is In what 15 years Ewan McGregor is supposed to transform into Alec Guinness seems like they could have started to grey him up maybe he’ll start to grey up by the end of the show
15 years is a long time for aging.
check out the film lawrance of arabia which alec guinness stared in 15 years before a new hope

They've definitely aged him up. Maybe not in the hair yet, but in the face for sure. But it's subtle, which is rare. The hair is definitely lighter than how McGregor has it. Maybe the series will stress him out so much that he'll go gray super fast.
Remember Tattoowin two Sun’s ☀️ will put a tax on Obi-Wan body
People age at different rates
The way they wrote Leia's character (mainly in episode 2) is smart beyond her years until they had to make her make dumb choices for plot reasons.

Andor`s taking the cake though:

I have the bad feeling that they're going to bring back Owen as Obi-Wan's brother. Like he was in the extended universe novels back in the day. And I'll just... hate it.
He was never Obi-wan’s brother, that was just an idea George Lucas had in a very early draft of a New Hope.
That brother line is going to come back somewhere. Possibly in the extended universe not relevant to the Skywalker saga.
Stop you're giving them ideas!
She's getting blasted by racist comments and vitriol. It's on every social media platform
I really liked when Obi wan uses the force to save Leia, it takes him effort to access it again, it's not as easy as it used to be
Yeah that was cool, and it seemed like he was in pain too, like it physically affected and even hurt him to do it even though it was a relatively simple thing, because his connection to the force is so severely diminished.
It should be called Jake The Moron Kenobi cause that's how bad his character was written.
I literally laughed out loud at that scene. It's comically ridiculous.

@@plothora she's 10...not that that's any better lmao

(No spoilers, just a guess) she's not going to take her.
Why star wars fan are the ones who hate star wars the most lol the show isn't bad . Ppls take star wars too serious some times, opinion are allowed if you don't like it I get it too
Absolutely love that hawktalk is back and ready for more!
In Revenge of the Sith, when Obi-wan is checking the security records in the jedi temple there's a clip of Sidious calling Anakin Lord Vader, Obi-wan wouldn't have known the whole time.
I think Obi Wan assumed that Anakin had died from his wounds, he doesn't know that he's still out there at all, that's what surprises him.
@@goten339 that could be true, I would think he'd be dead. I guess I'm assuming obi's heard of Vader before 3rd sister said something.

If you’re not being my racist, then those comments shouldn’t bother you.
She's the best thing in it. At least her character stands up to scrutiny. And she can teleport to one end of a narrow tunnel past someone else who set off running down it five minutes ago.
@@plbenton it should not influence your opinion of a character, true. But I am personally bothered a lot by the increased amount of "fans" masking their racism and sexism behind "constructive criticism". Makes it hard to discern them sadly, which is harmful for anyone that wants to have a reasonable conversation about a topic
I genuinely like the show. I was kinda iffy on it after episodes 1 and 2, but episode 3 sold me on it. What gets me is the absolute nitpickery levels that people are taking to criticize and defile the show just because it's Disney Star Wars. Some people can really never just sit back and enjoy something.
Or maybe the show is actually flawed, look at how many people enjoyed the mandalorian compared to this - it isn't just the fact it's made by Disney.
@@GamerFrogYT Fair enough. I'm definitely not saying it's flawless. It plays a little loose with the lore (within reason) but isn't disrespectful to the characters as the movies were and actually has some genuine emotional weight unlike Boba Fett.
@@GamerFrogYT I remember a lot of mandlorian hate when it came out about bad/predictable writing and it was just a baby Yoda cash grab, and the lighting was off because the way they filmed it. Plus all the typical star wars knitpicking. So don't even start
@@GamerFrogYT give a genuine reason u think this show is bad?
@@thomaslardinois6383 Yeah it's definitely a step up from Boba, just for me a lot of kenobi still feels cheap and uninspired.
This is a more mature Vader, he wants to play into Obi-Wan’s weaknesses instead of getting angry at him
My own reading of that was that he’s almost taunting him. Last time he saw obi wan they went toe-to-toe and he lost, now he can overpower him with a single hand.
Honestly could've made his breathing fast paced or something when attacking or holding him in the fire and it'd have been a bit more emotive
Point of reference - long hair brushed back is not a mullet. That insinuation is disrespectful to two different cuts 😆
they should have to use a kolto tank, some leftover old republic tech, and the slightly less functional tank could be the reason he ages faster from this point forward.
The Emperor just puts some lemon juice in the Bacta Tank just so anakin gets hurt
I have a theory: Vader doesn't have the two swollen scars on his face yet, I reckon both of those will be given to him by obi-wan and that's how we'll get our Anakin face reveal.
Nice!
Best fan theory i’ve seen so far
Didn’t he get those when he fought Ahsoka in rebels
@@theccarbiter I don't think so. She cuts a piece of the mask away but it's only over his eye.
Quinlan Vos ends up partnered with Aasajj Ventress, and Ventress was Obi-Wan's primary rival in the clone wars. They escaped Darth Maul together and she never got a good conclusion to her story. Sure, Quinlan is Obiwans old buddy, but Ventress is a far more interesting character in need of a final chapter, and it would be better if she showed up in this series or Ahsoka.
She died in a story with both her and Quinlan as the focus

I'm 5 minutes into episode 4, and you guys get full credit for the bacta-tank flashback scene. I'd demand your cheques from Disney now.
