I enjoy your playthroughs😊 i love seeing people play those masterpiece games for the first time! It reminds me the first time i've played them myself. Another thing, i wish my sisters are as brave as you, when we play any horror games they always give me the controller!😂😂❤ but it became good memories
IMHO I think this is where the game starts to show a huge problem that was present earlier: there are way too many enemies in very strange places. The ghosts are a great idea but there should be like 1-3 of them per *world* not 3 in a single room. Also surprisingly few puzzles.
TIFA plays SH4! Love it Julia! you look amazing! What I look forward to the most is when Julia eventually will say "EW!" while playing these games, haha. You will only want to use the hand axe... it's by far the best weapon. I was SO relieved when you finally discovered that! :) It's ok to be stressed at this point when you realize your "home" is no longer the safe and healing space it was. :)

I'll like 7 best, then 8, then 9, then 6, then 10. The earlier ones have their charms too, but 6 onwards became better with detailed storytelling (4 as well). I love them so much that I'll just be thinking "8 is the best game ever" for a while, having fond memories. X might be my favourite one (today, I might like 6 tomorrow). They all somehow manage to be the best game ever in my eyes. As you know, Square-Enix LOVE to show off, haha. So FFX was the first FF to come out on PS2 level hardware. Since they are such showoffs, they made it their mission to push the console as much as they possibly could, so you're getting a game that looked wayyyyyy better than anything else did in 2001 and also had so much stuff to do compared to anything else at the time, and by the time that generation of console finished, were far from outdated compared to newer games. Leveling up is very unique in FFX, I'll just recommend "basic" instead of "expert", because basic is a very character based level up, while expert is non linear. The latter sounds good, but I like my characters to fight like their personalities more than anything, and each character generally brings something to the table others don't. Choose what you want of course, but I feel the game is best when the combat meshes well with the characters personalities. You'll be asked which method you want to play when you select new game. You'll also be asked to choose which soundtrack, original or hd remaster (If you play the hd version) Choose the original soundtrack when it asks, not the remastered soundtrack. The remaster is good but there are about 5 or 6 brilliant memorable songs that come off rather dull and uninspiring in the remaster. So id stick with the og soundtrack. Guess I'll see you (and Julia) in about 2 months then! Merry Christmas and happy new year to you both in advance lol

You can still get everything right away but it would likely take a long while for Tifa to 'feel' like Tifa in combat. No I'm afraid, once you select one for the game you're stuck with that. If you end up starting a 2nd file some point you can choose the other, but I'd recommend the original the first time. Unlike remake/rebirth, they didn't equal/improve on the previous ost, a rare misstep. Not bad, but there's a few tunes that get the heartstrings that feel phoned out on the remaster. Still brilliant of course, but "more brilliant" is better than brilliant haha. 9 is the best looking game on PS1, I don't know what that says to you but it's very good looking for PS1 as it is. I have no clue when the rumoured remaster will be sadly. They are going hard on 7 remakes and spinoffs so it's hard to gauge how much they are really prioritizing 9. 6, 7og and 8 are all great too, lots of people consider 6 the best.
