Thank you thank you ! This is the most fun trick to learn ! Still working on the exit of the trick but it will come with time ! Also, awesome how you respond to every comment :)
Just started strapless a couple of months ago and your tutorials helped me no end. This is great content as always. And Im still trying to be stable on my toeside to do a gybe properly.. that foot switch, man.. this is so difficult! Maybe my board is too small (i have a fish 5.3 dlab)... Your movements Luke are so beautifully executed, you re an inspiration !!😊
this is way cool the way you do these transitions. I'm working on the other upwind tack transition where you don't pivot all the way around. I am just starting to have success after about 400 failed attempts. next step is the roll tack after I learn the non roll tack. everyone says roll tack is even more difficult.
Nice tutorial. Can you advice on exercises to do on land or water to get close to tack transition? Everytime I am kitesurfing I tell myself- i have to do it today, but when time comes- just jibe :) Can't even start it. Also I like your videos because thorough explanations. Other channels start well, show foot switch on strapless as first thing and next move is tutorials how to jump 360 with handle pass. I want more simple moves that are easy to grasp, not everyone can kitesurf 5 days a week and progress so fast.
Hey Tomas haha yeah for sure, we have some nice simple moves coming as well :) Our Backroll version 1 (uploaded very soon) is a likely the first jumping trick to get along with the load and pop ua-cam.com/video/GTnNTA6fTqU/v-deo.html if you are looking to start jumping strapless. regarding the tack, there isn't much to learn on the beach really, but i'd recommend you start with this general tack first. ua-cam.com/video/yc-_942o-Ew/v-deo.html and watch the video and just try it. Thats the best thing you can do for this. ultimately it takes a while to get it, but the best thing to do is a lot of repetition for this one :)
Here in Maui the wind shifts directionally quite a bit - I find myself getting pulled down wind/off the wind when I start to carve upwind to initiate this - any advice there?? Thanks for this great video!
my biggest problem with the directional board is i don't commit the time to it lol.. i try for a while and since i only ride maybe once a week i end up just going back to the twin tip.. and when i go on holidays i don't bring two boards. i should rent a directional perhaps
haha yeah it takes a bit of time... but i was the same, always going back and forth with the twintip, until I could jump the strapless.. then I stopped riding the twintip :)
Thank you. love your videos.
Stoked to hear :)
Nicely detailed tutorial. I am going to try this transition this summer. Thanks Luke.

haha yeah exactly it takes a lot of attempts :) Keep at it though because soon enough it becomes "easy" and you don't even have to think about it

Hey yeah if you are getting pulled downwind, its usually not sheeting out enough, or sending the kite back to early. Hope it helps :)
@@FlukesKitesurfing Ok thank you!
Nice job Luke, so where is that spot you are recording this session? Looks like a great spot to learn how to wave sail .... cheers
Yes it is! This is in Cape Verde. Really nice spot
