Great video, I have a brand new one, not fired yet. Ive heard about the mag release issue and I'm going to do the same thing. I also ordered and returned the 2 rail grips offered from Kris as they were very uncomfortable. I added a rail mounted folding forward pistol grip and it feels excellent and balanced now.
Just to provide an update on my suggestion below: The Vickers Tactical mag catch for the 9mm/40 Glock is a perfect fit for the Vector. It has nice rounded corners, and is in-between the stock 9mm/40 Glock mag catch length and the 10mm/45 Glock mag catch length (which is the stock Vector). I've tried death gripping the mag well area and short of purposely pushing down the Vickers mag catch, the mag isn't going to accidentally release. The Vickers GMR-001 even comes in FDE to match FDE Vectors. Just my 2 cents.
I looked at the Kriss USA replacement mag catch kit, and it appears to be just an OE Glock mag catch for Gen 1-3 10mm/45 (part # 1981). Even uses the same Glock mag catch spring. Did you ever try an extended mag catch designed for the Glock? That way you don't need to use the screws or the paddles and it'd be slightly longer than stock, but not enough to be a problem. Or heck, maybe even try a Gen 1-3 9mm/40 Mag Catch. It'd be slightly more recessed but maybe it is just enough to drop the mag without making it prone to accidentally releasing? I watched the video again and I think the stock Glock 1981 mag catch is overkill. Probably could run the stock 9mm mag catch 287 without any problems, or maybe a Vickers GMR-001 which is in-between the Glock 1981 and the Glcok 287.
Hey I've been interested in getting one of these and went to the store to check one out and it was extremely difficult to pull the charging handle back. Is that normal if they are brand new? Neither me or the guy working there could even pull it back all the way, so i just wanted to see if that was a normal experience.
I dig the new paintjob! Thought about doing this to my vector. might give it a shot this weekend.
Thanks man! Sheesh! If you do it’d be sweet to see a video. Tough decision with how pristine that Alpine White looks!

You have the 16" rifle version, why don't you just put on a vert forward grip???
Good point. I added a BCM foregrip after making this video.
Can't believe this is the first time I'm seeing this hack considering this is a widely talked about issue with the Vector.
great video, Im a lefty, just fixed mine!
Thanks man. Must be a wild gun to use as a lefty haha
Putting a vertical grip on mine.

Hmmm... that's weird. No I haven't experienced that at all, even from brand new. Maybe it's a lemon
@@bradlockwood2868 see that's what I was hoping for because I really want one but I don't want to buy a gun that I can't use lol thanks Brad
@@Fricku426 Haha you're welcome man no problem
I just got one and its extremely hard to pull back as well.
@@justincox23 Damn. I mean mine isn’t easy, but it’s not like it’s binding or anything, it’s just a strong return spring; is yours binding up on you?
