The small independent artists are the real artists. A lot of the well known musicians sell their soul to get to where they are. There is a revolution going on and we will see a transformation in the arts very soon, so thanks for sharing a talent who is not very well known.
It's my pleasure to do this reaction. RIP to Jeff Buckley! I can see a slow shift of more independent artists starting to rise to the top. It's all about who you know in the music industry and that doesn't always mean that the top artists have the most talent. It's unfortunate but it is what it is. I hope you have a great day and thank you for the view/comment ✌👏

Jeff Buckley had, in my opinion, the greatest and most angelic, purest, powerful, human, expressive, freeing, soulful voice in music history. We will never hear a voice as strong, clear, good, and natural as Buckley's. He was a once-in-a-lifetime gift that is comparable to no-one. Greatest songwriter, greatest lyricist, a poet in the truest sense. the type of lyrics Jeff would write is such language we may not see again in modern popular music. he was a real, authentic, honest spirit amongst the blistering hurricane of life, and chose to be different, avant-garde and fresh. he was a million lightyears ahead of what an artist is even capable of doing, especially back then. Jeff played an insane amount of instruments proficiently to a high, professional level, and was a visionary for his artistic work. He saw things that many people didn't, he was observant, perceptive and philosophical in themes like nature, politics, death & the world. A musical legend gone way too soon. I hope he's in a better, more peaceful place. R.I.P. Jeff Buckley (1966-1997) you were able to transform your sorrow, tragedy and pain into beautiful, heart wrenching music.
The reason for that instrument is that jeff buckley was a huge fan of nusret fateh ali khan who uses that instrument in all of his songs. jeff took lot of aspiration from his style

@Jeff Buckley Robert Plant has never called Jeff Buckley his favourite singer. He has merely complimented him and said that Jeff was a better singer than he is. When providing links, it’s best to use official ones, as fan uploads tend to have diluted audio quality. I also suggested that he check out the BBC Late Show version, as I think Jeff shines more in a live setting.
@Jeff Buckley What’s the problem? I simply corrected your statement about Robert Plant. I didn’t mean any disrespect. Additionally, I merely suggested that it is a better idea to use official audio links because when comparing fan uploads with those from official channels, the former are of poorer quality. For optimal sound it is preferable to go with the official links.
I disagree that this is hus tamest and softest song. It's on the same album side as Hallelujah and Corpus Cristy Carol, and the Lilac Wine, New Year's Prayer... Even the previous I've at Sin-é version.
Totally my pleasure, Bro!! I LOVE learning about new acts and experiencing an artist that I wouldn't have if it wasn't for this channel. @@DannymikReacts Grace.has a Zeppelin influence. The album is my all time favorite. There are a couple of songs I would never listen to on their own, but they work as a whole. The production is fantastic.
Released on August 23, 1994. He drowned on his was to record his second album in 1997. All vocals, guitars and keyboards on this track by Jeff. He's all over the place musically. He covers about 6 genres on this album, including what sounds like an 18th century hymn. Produced by Andy Wallace who mixed Rage Against the Machine's debut. One of my favorite songs period. His father was Tim Buckley, a folk singer in the late 60s early 70s before dying young. Jeff barely knew him but has a similar look and vocals. Eternal Life is the hardest song (usually played with proto-punks MC5's Kick Out the Jams), and the live version is harder. Grace is Led Zeppelin influenced. Hallelujah is his most famous song. A cover of a cover of a Leonard Cohen song (with the altered lyrics John Cale used in his version). A couple songs have a Radiohead vibe, though predated that era of Radiohead's sound. He was nominated for a Grammy for best vocal performance for one of the studio demos for his posthumous 2nd album. Another song from that album became the theme song for the show The Dead Zone for their early seasons. He became friends with a lot of musicians including Chris Cornell who helped put together that 2nd album and wrote a song for him on his own album Euphoria Morning. His roadie/guitar tech as seen in the outstanding DVD Live in Chicago (all on UA-cam) became the singer of the band Ours and has a Jeff inspired sound. Glad you liked it. At some point, I've owned just about every CD they put out for him, which is a lot considering he only released a 4 song live EP (now a packed 2CD/1DVD set), and one album (also available as a 2CD/1DVD set) while alive.
Also, there is a UA-camr Mojopin1983 who found this from an interview with a woman who was Jeff's friend. It was shot in 1992, before he was signed. There is a brief shot near the end of him. He would play solo but on electric guitar. This was a Cafe called Sin-é and after he was signed the EP was properly titled Live at Sin-é. All just him and his Telecaster. The music (and banter) on the expanded version is extraordinary. ua-cam.com/video/XltMQ0Z19FU/v-deo.html
@John Campbell Correction: the roadie seen in Live in Chicago isn’t Jimmy Gnecco. That guy’s name is Randy Burrow (I think that’s how his last name is spelled). Jimmy Gnecco wasn’t really a roadie of Jeff’s. I think he once did some adjustments on Jeff’s guitar, and that’s about it. He never toured with Jeff.
@@MojoPin1983 Ah. I was at a tiny (now closed) club in LA and my friend, who is a singer, pointed out that Jimmy Gnecco was at the next table and she's the one who told me that was him in the Live in Chicago DVD. Never trust a pop star(ish). (She sang on a hit in the UK about 20 years ago.)
In the 80s, Jeff played guitar in a few different hair metal and other rock bands. He was always a guitarist first and used to stun people with his spot on spontaneous riffs from famous artists.
From the couple videos I've reacted to I would've never guessed that he was all about his guitar work in those early years. His voice is unique in my opinion, but not in a bad way. So far I've enjoyed his style. Thank you for taking the time to check this one out :)
I love watching videos of people discovering Jeff for the first time, you’re in for a treat ! All his songs are so different l can’t recommend his albums enough (I’m not even into rock music lol)

One of the all time best! So miss Jeff Buckley! There are so many stunning songs and performances. Love his live performance of Hallelujah!! He also does a set on I think it is the BBC show. Really brilliant! We (the entire music community) all sobbed when he passed. So tragic. Glad you found him. You must listen to him live too. The Grace album is stunning! Thank you so much for that. It's funny you say that because recently I received a comment that I talked too much so they clicked off. It's a "reaction" so I don't think that holding my emotions or thoughts back is what the viewers want (or they could just watch the original video). RIP to Jeff Buckley 🙏🙌

Wow, I can't believe what I just read. I haven't heard from him in a long time and often wonder where he went. I want to say that I'm soooo sorry. My prayers and condolences to all of you. Your cousin was one of my subscribers that talked with my very often. His love for Jeff Buckley's music was very evident. This news genuinely touches my heart and I sit here with tears in my eyes. Jace I am very sorry for you and your families loss...he sounded like a warrior, no wonder loved Jeff's music soo much ....way way too young ....I bet he having long talks up above with his hero ...peace
It;s called a harmonium, it's like a small organ that you use one hand to play the keys and one you use to push air through the reeds. It's used for small funeral processions, you can also find them being used by the Hare krishna's when chanting in small temple rooms. If used right they're great instruments.
After reading this comment it reminded me that it's time to give this one another listen... it's been too long. And yes, Buffalo born right here... go Bills & Sabres :) Thank you!!
Very interesting. The first couple of minutes actually reminded me of the "More" and "Obscured by Clouds" era Pink Floyd. After that, though, it just became pure emotion. Gonna have to try out more of his stuff. Thanks for sharing.
I'm very foreign to him as well but I will give him another listen or 2 to see what I think. It's obvious that i like the more aggressive stuff but I do have a silent soft side for this kind of stuff. Thank you 👍👏
The instrument at the beginning is a harmonium. It’s a small desktop reed organ with a hand-operated bellows that pushes air through the reeds. Indian in origin.
Awesome, thank you for offering up that information. I really like the sound of it, something I don't hear in the music I typically listen to. I truly appreciate your time viewing this one 🙌✌
Thank you thank you thank you. I will never get over his loss and Chris Cornell..... Please react to Jeff Buckley -Grace (BBC late show) I like your style buddy
I know not this Buckley of Jeffness...Yup...sounds a bit like country, but I haven't clawed my ears out so, not too shabby. It seems like some solid shag music. Some of the riffs in the music sound like Floyd for a millisecond!😮😮 I dig this, it's alllllright! Bringing the reactions like milk on cereal!!🙌😁👏🤘
The maniac of all the maniacs in the house! Not clawing out your ears hahaha... I'm glad that you aren't doing that 😋. Sounds like a mix of all types of music but it has a lot of potential. Thanks for the support my Cuban brother 👏👊✌🙃
Shag music? It's a song about a girl he loves that kills herself (it opens at her funeral), he feels responsible, he's in never ending pain and can't stop thinking "You should've come over" ...and he's in denial about it all to boot because he keeps telling himself 'cuz it's not too late".
Grace is probably more your speed for sure. You would probably like it. It has more of a rock vibe for sure. It also displays his vocals even more and his range.
I totally get it... the beginning just gave me a country-esk type vibe. I now know that his music hits multiple genres. When I get back up and running Jeff Buckley reactions will be from a live performance. Thank you for your view & comment :)
When it's your very first time listening to an artist a "reaction" with a good amount of dialogue is common. I get what you're saying but put yourself in a stranger's shoes. Regardless, we as humans are unique... our personalities are different which produces a different style. Honestly, I find it boring when a reactor just sits there and doesn't say much until the song is over. I want to hear them touch on the little nuances within a song. Pausing it every 15 seconds is a different story... either way, I appreciate you checking this one out. I was just talking to a good friend (who loves Jeff Buckley) and told him that I need to do a live version of one of his songs. I've been told that's where he shines. Thank you!
Would love to see you react to him live from chicago, whole another level I would recommend "Mojo pin" Jimmy page and robert plant were big fans of him
Hello @mikey cole... you say Deftones?? I know some of their radio music but that's about all. Rosemary a good one? I'm totally open for it but I need to make sure their record label is not a bunch of pricks. Any other reaction channels do that one? Let me know, thank you!! Peace ✌👊
Thank you thank you thank you. I will never get over his loss and Chris Cornell..... Hey dude great reaction.. If you could react to Deftones rosemary I think you will love it ✌️
I totally get it and you're very welcome! I am lining up Chris Cornell doing a Prince cover... might even get to recording it today. I think it's called "Nothing Compares to You". Much more to come from my channel. The 90s is probably my favorite era of music :) Thank you and I hope you have an awesome Wednesday 👍💥
I reacted to Grace and seen another level to his vocals... I'm digging that song more than this one but that doesn't take away from how good this one is. Thank you so much for the view and sorry my response is so damn late 👏✌

Hate me or not respect me all you want for my initial ignorance... you didn't even get to the end of my reaction without judging me just like I did with him before listening to a single verse of his music. Regardless, hope you're doing well and staying healthy. Peace ✌

You would really like many of Jeff's other wonderful songs. Mojo Pin, Grace, Last goodbye, Dream brother..and others. Such an amazing talent.
I especially like Last Goodbye.
It's never too late to get into Jeff's music. He has harder sounding songs to check out.And live.
I agree with you 100%. I do have to check out react to his live stuff... and something a little heavier would be great. Thank you for your interest and comment :)
I wish i discover Jeff Buckley now for the first time, i was 15 years at the time and he's blow my mind (i was a metalhead). Grace is an outstanding album. Music like it should be.
He had some Americana vibes, def a father of indie rock.

I want to say that Jeff Buckley sound so cool and peaceful i love the country style of this song.
How the words and the music came together.

This video was gratifying to watch.
Wow! Love his vocals in this one. Slow and beautiful!
Totally agree with you on this. This song has a unique melody but I TRULY enjoy it....more so now than the reaction. Thank you so much ✌👏
One of the best reactions to one of the best songs ever
Thank you so much for that. It's funny you say that because recently I received a comment that I talked too much so they clicked off. It's a "reaction" so I don't think that holding my emotions or thoughts back is what the viewers want (or they could just watch the original video). RIP to Jeff Buckley 🙏🙌
Please react to Jeff Buckley -Grace (BBC late show)
Damm, I get chills and a lump in my throat, listening to Jeff Buckley. There's no one like Jeff, and he's not country!
I feel like he's his owner genre, or at least it's hard to place him in 1. Thank you for your time!!
Great video bro amazing reacting love it all 🔥
I really enjoyed this reaction ! good listening man !
Glad you enjoyed and I truly appreciate your view and comment 👏💪
Hey bro, my cousin, who went by the screen name "Jeff Buckley" he actually died in a car accident last year, he was only 24. i been going back through some of the videos we used to watch together and im seeing his old comments and things. i wanted to thank you for reacting to his request, i remember, him and i watching ur vids and having a great time, much love to you Danny and may my cousin RIP.
Incredibly sad news! I feel it in my heart to dedicate a future Jeff Buckley reaction to your cousin (if I can get my ass going with these once again).
Thank you for reaching out to me... it really does mean a lot. I appreciated him and now you for enjoying some of my content. I didn't even know him personally but it feels like I lost an old friend. Again, I'm very sorry :(
@@DannymikReacts Hey Danny, so sorry it's taken me this long to get back to ya. i just wanted to say thank you for everything, my cousin was definitely a very passionate person, he was cancer survivor and never took anything for granted...i read through the comments and noticed u 2 really did talk ALOT. it's cool he made that connection with u like that. a future reaction would be fantastic, i dont want u to feel obligated tho. JB had a song my cousin really like called Mojo Pin. whether u can do it or not doesnt matter, i just appreciate the love man. honestly.
I’ve been going down the rabbit hole of JB tunes and seeing your cousin’s comments everywhere. So sorry to now read this. Damn.. so young. My condolences, man. 💔
@@richardcomer6725 You dont know how much that means man, thank u.
I think that this is really a perfect song. Maybe the most perfect song! And, presuming with your Buffalo attire, Go Bills!!!!!
After reading this comment it reminded me that it's time to give this one another listen... it's been too long. And yes, Buffalo born right here... go Bills & Sabres :)
Thank you!!
His father had an amazing voice too, thet were so very similar ..Tim Buckley he was way ahead of his time
I didn't even know that Jeff's dad was a musician so thanks for educating me with that!
@@DannymikReacts well you are in for a treat !! Tim had a beautiful voice , and rhythm..the two are very very similar....Thanks to you too
Very interesting. The first couple of minutes actually reminded me of the "More" and "Obscured by Clouds" era Pink Floyd. After that, though, it just became pure emotion. Gonna have to try out more of his stuff. Thanks for sharing.
Nice observation... the guy was so talented!
Not familiar with Jeff Buckley but this one was really soothing on the ears. Kind of a depressing vibe but the music was great! Great find, Danny!
I'm very foreign to him as well but I will give him another listen or 2 to see what I think. It's obvious that i like the more aggressive stuff but I do have a silent soft side for this kind of stuff. Thank you 👍👏
@@DannymikReacts I recommend you give Grace a listen. He has a pretty wide stylistic range.
the beginning is accordion playing. years of listening to Weird Al has made it unmistakable.
Hahaha glad Weird Al paid off!! Thank you for the interest and happy holidays ✌
I’m going with a B3 organ on that. Beautiful regardless. This song is simply amazing.
I like the movie analogy.. well said!
Thank you for the comment and view... lots of emotion at the end of this song.
Goosebumps💋💖
He's good... REALLY good! I reacted to Grace as well. Next up will be a reaction to one of his live performances. Thank you ✌👏
Thank you thank you thank you. I will never get over his loss and Chris Cornell.....
Please react to Jeff Buckley -Grace (BBC late show)
I like your style buddy
One of the greatest album no one knows. Such a shame. I hope with time more and more will discover him and he will get the recognition he deserves ❤
@@pleromicpastry5445 Solid shag music
Grace is probably more your speed for sure. You would probably like it. It has more of a rock vibe for sure. It also displays his vocals even more and his range.
Jeff Buckley rip
Respect!! Thank you!
The pain....yes
just because it has acoustic doesnt mean its country its mor jazzy and blues chords
I totally get it... the beginning just gave me a country-esk type vibe. I now know that his music hits multiple genres. When I get back up and running Jeff Buckley reactions will be from a live performance. Thank you for your view & comment :)
Buckley left the world too soon...he was the band!
Sweet Surrender, Song to the siren
Country?!
You should check out Jeff's live performances. He goes sky high! You would be really impressed! Songs like: mojo pin, grace, last goodbye
Saludos desde México...
As much as I appreciate first listeners, talk less, listen more as he deserved it.
Thank you!
Would love to see you react to him live from chicago, whole another level
I would recommend "Mojo pin"
Jimmy page and robert plant were big fans of him
That's not an organ in the beginning, it's called harmonium that's used majorly in indian classical music.
Hiiii Dad!!!!
My little guy... love you ❤
I would've come over.
No shit!
Led Zeppelin would often sit row at his concerts.
That is RESPECT! Thank you for the view and comment ✌👏
Hey dude great reaction.. If you could react to Deftones rosemary I think you will love it ✌️
Hello @mikey cole... you say Deftones??
The 90s is probably my favorite era of music :)
Thank you and I hope you have an awesome Wednesday 👍💥
Hanya suara,y saja
Grace by Jeff Buckley is better, try if you want
Its not a synth, its a Hammond B3 organ
If you like the musicality of this, check out "dream brother" (also by Jeff Buckley)... The drums and bass! And so different from this song.
country? More like R&B
Harmonium.
Thank you 👍
I don't have the energy to make videos. Look up colm Wilkinson Gethsemane live version...
Grace, in the 90`s and over it, was the favourite recording of Jimmy Page,

Jeff Buckley. Genre: Jeff Buckley.
just because it has acoustic guitars doesnt mean it’s country
Listen to grace!
Also the song so real..it has a very unusual chord progression
Country?
Initially is had a little bit of country/folk vibe to it... Jeff was an interesting artist who can fit many genres. Thank you for your interest!
Theres a great movie about him and his dad (Tim Buckley) ua-cam.com/video/pyPoTI-59HU/v-deo.html
*harmonium, not an organ
Thank you!!
I can't do reaction videos cuz I fuckin already know good music and IAM not a fake piece of shit..
Unfortunately Jeff drowned
great song. but not even close to his best vocals
I reacted to Grace and seen another level to his vocals... I'm digging that song more than this one but that doesn't take away from how good this one is. Thank you so much for the view and sorry my response is so damn late 👏✌
Stopped watching after 10 seconds, u gonna just talk all the way through???? Hmm interesting
It's cool, you do what you gotta do! I know you missed a good one 💪
Children should be seen and not heard.
I'm not sure what you're referring to but thank you for checking this one out :)

Don't know how/ why that happened.
No offense intended.
I'm sure by now you know that there is no country in jeff. His dad was famous60's folk singer how committed suicide at 30 jeff committed suicide at 29 what a waste of talent we never got to see grow older. There is plenty of stuff out there to listen to and watch
That's freaking terrible... you're right, wasted talent!! It helps when you know a little more about an artist. Thank you for chiming in!!
you judged min before you heard him....i hame no respect for you at all
That's the beauty of doing a reaction to an artist you never heard and judged in the past... that attitude has changed and I'm gearing up to react to another Jeff Buckley song. Hate me or not respect me all you want for my initial ignorance... you didn't even get to the end of my reaction without judging me just like I did with him before listening to a single verse of his music. Regardless, hope you're doing well and staying healthy. Peace ✌
When Atlantic signed him, they thought they had another Leonard Cohen or other great, long term artist who would record and sell records forever. Shame he went so young.
