"She's the tear that hangs inside my soul forever" has to be the most romantic line ever written.
No it isn't
@@sillysausage4549
Yes it is.
Very darkly beautiful indeed
Amazing
The only better line in the history of rock belongs to Paul Weller of The Jam's song "That's Entertainment. "
- "two lovers missing the tranquillity of solitude."
"My kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder " wrecks me every time 😪
The lead singer of Muse Matt Bellamy bought Jeff Buckley's Guitar recently. Jeff was a big inspiration for him and many big artists like Thom Yorke and Steven Wilson.
"Grace" is one of the most beautiful records ever written and will remain one of my favorites for all time.
Which makes the tragedy of his death even sadder.
Agreed. When I think of best albums of all time, this album comes to mind. Joshua Tree by U2 is another.
my favorite buckley song. dude just hangs it all out there
yep. and with unapologetic beauty
Great choice. This guy had a huge impact on the music scene in a very short space of time, having released only one record (Grace) before drowning by accident in the Memphis river.
Jimmy Page and Robert Plant caught him perform at a small venue and would go on to rave about him. David Bowie said Grace was one of his desert island albums and Chris Cornell also sang his praises, dedicating a song to Jeff on one of his solo records. Bob Dylan said Jeff was one of the best songwriters of his generation, and Matt Bellamy also credits Jeff Buckley as an influence. Bizarrely Jeff even has fans in the likes of Brad Pitt.
Jeff was part way through recording his next record before drowning, and it would have been called “My Sweetheart the Drunk”. He never recorded it to a standard he was happy with, but his family later released it posthumously and it was essentially demos, yet they still sound absolutely brilliant.
Love Jeff, and would love to see more reactions! Hallelujah live usually has a big impact on people.
Great post
@The Misanthrope Man Plant and Page actually saw Jeff perform, at least, twice. Once at the Gurtenfestival in Switzerland, and another time in Australia. They also performed at Glastonbury ‘95, but Page and Plant only heard Jeff’s set from another stage.
Probably the best “Love” song that I ever heard in my entire life
If you loved this then you will like "Forget Her" too!
Forget her is beautiful
My two favorite songs
Also "Mojo Pin."
Also every single song from Grace
When I first heard Jeff Buckley’s music I instantly loved it and was devastated to learn he was no longer with us to continue the amazing path he was on. I can only compare his loss to one I was along for the ride with, Chris Cornell. I still can’t believe he is gone. Such beautiful talented men gone too soon.
Hollywood already made a movie about Jeff, starring Penn Badgley as Jeff, specifically about that time he participated in a tribute show to his dad, before his own career took off. But yeah, I’m sure there will be more in the future, as Jeff’s legacy only seems to grow with time passing.
Jeff's voice is hauntingly beautiful!
A local music writer here once said in a tribute to him that his voice in this song was like a lighted candle ascending a darkened staircase. That tribute meant so much to me that I wrote to the writer to thank him. When Jeff died, he was virtually unknown here in the states. Barely a mention, other than the tragic way in which he died. It hit me so hard. Still does. Thank you for reacting to his music. It is timeless.
You could released the album Grace tomorrow and most people wouldn't know its 27 years old. Jeff's music is timeless.
One of the best songs ever written. What a rendition. Man, if that doesnt hit you, you ain't hittable.
Ma man, took the words right out of my mouth.. I've been saying it for years, James Franco is Jeff Buckley look alike 🎉🎉🎉
Damm, I Freaken love this song. I get chills just listening to him 🎵
One thing that people forget is this a 3/4 waltz timing song.. probably the sexist waltz ever composed
6/8 🙂

@@gatedreverb1 good buddy
you guys looking at lyrics. it's a must! great choice!
I disagree. It’s distracting. In fact, for that reason, Jeff chose not to include lyrics in the Grace liner notes, as he wanted people to just experience the music, rather than focusing on reading the lyrics, and which detracts from one’s ability to focus on the music.
@@MojoPin1983 not sure that was the reason jeff "chose" not to include lyrics, but the truth is it's nice to have the option.
No joke I'm so glad I'm not alone about the James Franco connection!!!
Alex, you're right, Forget Her is brilliant
Live version is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please do it. My husband loves it. We love you guys.
One of my favorites off the same Jeff Buckley album is Dream Brother. To me it has a bit of a Zeppelinesque quality (plus more amazing vocals and musicianship).
Starts off like a sea shanty... then gets real ❤❤❤
Not wrong about the movie idea haha, also thanks for reacting to one of the biggest musical legends throughout time.
Last Goodbye was always a favorite of mine. And, of course, his version of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah.
Hey, you guys are great. Loving the Jeff Buckley trip you’re on.
Love your genuine, emotional and real reaction to a truly mind-blowingly talented and urgent artist.
Awesome. It’s like I’m rediscovering Jeff Buckley through your reactions. I’ve hardly ever broken down and cried to a song before, but Jeff Buckley gets me there all the time. Thank you. I’ll be back :)
0'50" It happens . 2'19" Listen to this rythms. Now i think we have the use of spatole in italiano on the snare that i mentioned or yesterday or two days ago . Or maybe the classic stics only the border of the snare . Anyway this kind of groove is perfect for Jazz spatole . 4'29" Begin of rolls/fill with many ghostnotes ! Highly technical and ""simple"" at the same time ! Great rythm section like in the other song ! Guys the sound of the kick is gorgeous
I swear for god I watch the non existent music video of this song on my mind.
There have been several attempts at a film. Franco was intakes for one years ago, then with singer/actor Reeve Carney.
One of my favorite songs of all time. He plays the keys, all the guitars and songs all the lead and backing vocals. There is one background note he hits that sends a shiver down my spine every time.
reeve carney also looks like jeff buckley
He will be playing Jeff Buckley in the upcoming biopic.
@@cremetangerine82 cant wait
One of my favorite songs period. Would highly recommend Grace next.
They already reacted to the studio version, but they should check out the BBC Late Show performance.
Wheeeeeere are you tonight, child you know how much i need it. Muchos Gracias Jeff.
Well thank you to the algorithm gods for popping this randomly in my feed! Nothing better than seeing fresh converts to the magic that is Jeff, his poetic performances and his phenomenal mastery of his instrument.
MORE JEFF PLEASE!!!
Great video, keep it up 😁
Jeff was special
RIP Jeff. So sad you went so young. x
James Franco? Never thought of that. That's a brilliant idea...and Jeff needs a movie. Dub him if he can't sing!
Awesome reaction 🤘🔥🤘 there's a movie in the making staring the most talented Reeve carney who share quite a few similarities!!
Jeff was amazing. Natalie Maines version of that song is breath taking.
I would strongly recommend listening to some Nothing But Thieves! They're a band from here in the UK and the vocalist Conor is massively inspired by Jeff
Their cover of lover you should of come over is beautiful!!
Yes! Please!
I went down a massive NBT rabbit hole because of your comment and absolutely love them! They are so so good! Thank you for this comment!!!
I'm so glad you like them Mille!
I am a huge JB fan but thought I'd give your recommendation a go and I am so glad. I have not listened to anything else for the past week and decided I have to go and see them live in October! 🤣🤣🤪🤪
Genial !!!! Sería bueno que pusieran subtitulos en español por favor .
Suzie q i❤u. 😋. Bloody great reaction guys.
A biopic of Jeff Buckley is set to start filming in the fall, the role went to Reeve Carney, similar look and he sings too, similar falsetto voice. I'm super excited because I'm sucj a huge Buckley fan!!!! Btw please do Vancouver or Thousand Fold by Jeff Buckley reaction!!!! please!
I have often thought James Franco looked like Jeff Buckley. I don't know if I'd take James seriously enough to play Jeff, though, unfortunately. This song is really a mood all on its own. The lyrics paint such a vivid picture, yet they're just open-ended enough that listeners can relate in their own way. 'I feel like i'm having memories of this song' is so freaking real! And Jeff's ability to emote through his vocal performance is unparalleled (although John Farnham, who I know you've reacted to before, comes very close). Long before I understood how technically gifted he was, I was captivated by the emotion in his voice.
YES James Franco as Jeff Buckley would be perfect 🔥
There is a movie to be made with a guy named Reeves Carney as the lead. At one point like 10 years ago or more there was this idea of a movie starring Franco as Jeff and he was very interested and even said he would probably have to mimic to Jeff's voice as nobody could sing like him if the project was to be done but that never went forward . I also think he was the best choice ever to play him cause they were awfully alike back then, too bad now its too late cause the guy is more than 40 and doesnt look like Jeff that much anymore.
Just once I want to say something and have a woman look back at me the way literally every woman looks at Jeff when he sings… he’s made many women cry …and me
I love your reactions..I am assuming that u are a couple.. well your female is feeling the lyrics my bro.. because this song is full of the best lyrics I have heard.."it's never over..she's the tear that hangs inside my soul forever"...c.mon,..wow
maybe a top 5er song of all time. i was getting caught up in jeff buckley when you two were playing doctor.
Better suited to this lane than the last, thanks.
james franco could easily play jeff buckley.
We are Rammstein??
great reaction, beautiful song!! a jeff buckley movie would be fire but james franco is a gross creepy guy (they do look similar though)
massively influenced by sufi music, especially nusrat fateh ali khan...legend
Jeff Buckley mojo Pin 🙏❤️
You really are those Americans that Jim jefferies describes where u think everything is amazing. Don’t get me wrong this is amazing. But I can see ur like “oh look, yeah that’s a great chair, wow, you got the arm chair huh, amazing. I love it.
finally someone said it lol
