And if you think about it, jin is the closest stand in to alvis in Rex's universe. His core crystal was _blue,_ but due to situations, it was turned _red._ blue is the standard color of the core crystals. There is an instance or two however that he does get definitive feeling of certainty to future events. Sometimes a very strong conviction a specific event is going to happen is part of foresight or premonition. That perhaps Alvis is split too, and the only thing he has is being a seer, and logic. I don't think the inclusion of item orbs necessarily means that collection points won't be in the game. They could just be less common, and placed in out-of-the-way locations, to sort of encourage exploration.
Im glad the collection orbs are back. Having to stop and wait for yourself to dig up collectibles and also the blade skill little cutscene got very old very fast for me. I wonder if every collectible will have a separate render in the collectopedia as they did in X
I'm surprised you didn't mention the Show Gem Effects toggle. That was a bugbear in the original to have to remove gems to see if equipment was worth it.
35:02 it looks like the Makna Eks was barely extra susceptible to the Slit Edge and Air Slash in the first few frames based on its position. It was more straight on to Shulk than him flanking Makna's side. Then it's position may have changed by a very small amount and Shulk lost the position advantage. I think you're right at the end and those indicators represent position advantages for certain attacks.
25:30 I actually have a lot to talk about. First, “Xenoblade 1 to the T”? HA! There are so many changes from the original. The most obvious difference being that the party screen appears in the menu, which was a submenu originally. Party has also been separated into ‘Party’ (which most likely just moves the cursor right so you can swap party members around) and ‘Change Equipment’ (which was originally done by pushing ‘a’ on a part member on the ‘Party’ screen. Also, there only appears to be one standard option that opens its own submenu (collectables, as indicated by the arrow), compared to the original, which only had 2 which DIDN’T (Party and Area Maps). In order to fully explain this, the changes made there must be stated: ‘Arts and Skills” has been separated into ‘Arts’ and ‘Skill Trees’, ‘Journal’ has potentially had ‘Heart-to-Hearts’ and ‘Achievements’ gutted (kind of miffed for the former, completely ambivalent for the latter), but ‘Quest Log’ and ‘Affinity Chart’ are still there, ‘Other’ may also have had ‘Tutorials’ gutted (more annoyed about that one because of how much I liked some of the tutorials in XC1) but obviously still has ‘Change Time’ (because it’d be real dumb if you didn’t have that option in the menus. After all, the original had it, so why get rid of this huge time-saver?) and ‘System’ has been given its own button. Two, ‘System’ was given its own button. The important part about this little factoid is that it is accessed with the + button, suggesting that the menu, unlike X and 2, is accessed by pushing X, as it would also end up serving as a close menu button. While your mileage may vary on this, I personally prefer this as it makes the menu more easily accessed. Another detail about the system menu is worth addressing: what will be in it? Obviously it will have save and settings available, however, like Torna, it may also contain tutorials and, more importantly, we have to consider the possibility of ‘load’ also being an option (in other words, will there be multiple save slots?). Third, the party section itself (sorry I didn’t have as smooth of a transition as last time). This is the closest Luxin got to “Xenoblade 1 to a T”, because it’s obnoxiously similar: 3 active party members having 3D models, having large amounts of screen real-estate dedicated to them, with 2D renders of backup party members stacked in a column, underneath the money and play time, the numbering of the party members, levels, HP stat, character name and it stating what skill trees each member is on (although only for the active party members originally). There are few other minor changes: no EXP bar (SP bar for that matter), no current HP values (although they probably only differed like 3 times, ever) and no ‘Guests’ section (although it may appear when they’re actually with the group; also, Guests showed up in the top-right originally, with money & play time). Finally, One of the biggest changes is that the main menu also acts as a pause screen, unlike the original where movement was still possible. I find this to just be a change, neither good nor bad as while I did like the convenience of picking up a last couple item orbs before accessing other portions of the menu, I also did find it just a wee bit annoying that it wasn’t a pause function. Seriously, Luxin, you had *this* much material and did nothing with it. Why? Because you have greater external knowledge on XC1 as opposed to internal? Probably
Shulk's replica Monado has the same gear thingy that are on Mechon joints. The small yellow circle in the place where the Monado arts would appear, that circle. It's on Metal Face's kneecaps, for example. It's also on the top of some of the scout mechon units. Thought I'd mention it.
More examples: (Spoiler story mechons) Jade Face's shoulder cannons Yaldaboath's shoulder and on his sword in Mechonis form. Xord's back shell thing Some of Seven's drones have it as well, like the Sedna drones and Ishtar drones.
@@kevinr.9733 So, if you're asking for a realistic timeframe, it's probably right around a month. What with the recovery from the battle of Prison Island, the trek down Valak Mountain, through Sword Valley, and arriving at the Fallen Arm, climbing the Mechonis all the way to Agniritha, evacuating and re-grouping at Junks, & finally destroying the Apocrypha Generator before reaching Mechonis Core.
I like that the orbs are back, being able to pick up items while running around and exploring just felt so much better to me than having to stop dead in my tracks at certain collection spots and repeatedly pick up items. They can still tweak the RNG, further increasing the probability of picking up certain items from item orbs at certain spots.
Going out of my way to collect item orbs is so much more enjoyable than having to stop and hear FLORA HEALS AN ACHING SOUL over and over. Just my opinion, but I'm also glad that the orbs are back!

34:30 Actually Metal Face is facing away from Shulk. Metal Face's attacks typically have him twist and turn so it only looks like you aren't behind him but you can see that he is Targeting Ryen. Indicating that yes he is facing his back away from Shulk
Just how many copies of the collector's edition/set have been given out for pre order by now? Anyone know something? I got my collector's edition and when I saw it being sold out 6 hours after release of the trailer, i just wondered
In the original the battle between the titans was not pre-rendered, you can tell because in the 3DS version you can adjust the 3D effect. All pre-rendered cutscenes have no 3D effect. Also, so much for "no spoilers" in the first part, could not be less subtle.
5:23 he talks about the thing around alvis’ neck, and mentions the updated version looks like a core crystal; yet doesn’t mention that it bears the EXACT shape of the Conduit
If we didn’t see an art get fully charged after being empty during the footage the exclamation marks on the arts could be when it gets fully charged as an indicator. It could also be effective damage that was just messed up on the metal face back slash one.
The only thing about the pic though still is how its not completely a cross that crest that Alvis has so it could just be a reference to XC2 still. I am keeping an open mind and taking no sides yet after looking at the pic again. Another thing is his crest is smaller than that of Malos and Mythra's Aegis cores. I don't think its fair to act like a fan theory is correct just yet. I am still iffy on it now because i looked at the pic again and some things don't add up to confirm Alvis is Ontos.
(spoilers) The thing I'm kinda bummed about is the Shoulder expansion takes place after the main game. Meaning Mechonis has been destroyed and Bionis has largely fallen into the ocean at that point. So we won't get that awesome view down from the shoulder, seeing the head next to us and mechonis off in the distance.
Johbz Lucass the only problem being is that Xenoblade 1 is by far a better game than X. There are a lot of people who love 1 and preordered the definitive edition yet would have no interest in playing X. The game might be cool, but compared to 1, X just isn’t that great of a game
Well, we do hear a line of dialogue from the original game that is clearly still her, so it would be kind of weird for her to have 2 different voices for new & old dialogue, but the narrator did specifically speak over Melia’s new dialogue, so it legitimately could go either way
In Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition some of Yuri's (the protagonist's) new lines were also voiced by another person who just had a similar voice. But I still hope they got the original voice actor for Melia.
Assuming there will be multiple rifts, what if one of the telethia goes through a rift and that rift goes into Noctilum, explaining why a telethia is in XCX

K.J. Daniels They are reusing the same lines from the original. It’s when it comes to the dlc that we don’t know if Jenna Coleman will be back to voice Melia. It is possible for them to just have a similar voice actor take her role for future connection if Jenna doesn’t do it.

... I just went to go edit my super long comment and accidentally deleted it. Good job me. Anyway, all of my lost theories and discussion aside: 46:43 speaking of Wormholes, didn't the Samar from XCX come from a different dimension? just throwing that out there. It's probably related to XC2 and the new world thing honestly but we won't know until the game comes out. Now if you excuse me I'm going to go bang my head against a wall for a bit.
The backgrounds are STUNNING... but that oversaturation on the character models... It makes them look like they both lack volume and strength. Dunban went from being an imposing badass warrior to generic dating simulator father.
On the other hand, I really like the Mechon models and some of what I've seen of the monsters. Alvis looks like a villain of the week from some girly teeny-bopper anime from the 80s. The UI looks great, though. It doesn't look like all of the art was updated though as some of the monsters and outfits look like they had minimal edits to nothing done at all.

I don't think the inclusion of item orbs necessarily means that collection points won't be in the game. They could just be less common, and placed in out-of-the-way locations, to sort of encourage exploration.
I'd forgotten about the birth of a universe. Now I'm SUPER HYPED to see what they've done to it. I NEED THIS NOW
I'm gonna need a replica of the new Shulk jacket, absolutely drippin
Im glad the collection orbs are back. Having to stop and wait for yourself to dig up collectibles and also the blade skill little cutscene got very old very fast for me. I wonder if every collectible will have a separate render in the collectopedia as they did in X
are you going to do an LP of Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition Luxin?
23:34 In the Japanese scene of this battle footage, the characters are evenly leveled
YES!!!
Xenoblade 2's resolution in handheld mode was somewhere around 480p? Having this game at 720p would look great on the small screen.
Xenoblade X is actually xenoblade 10. That's the future. Goodnight
@Weston Meyer the roman numeral
Probably
Shulk obviously does a LOT of sit-ups and cardio.
Shulk's replica Monado has the same gear thingy that are on Mechon joints. The small yellow circle in the place where the Monado arts would appear, that circle. It's on Metal Face's kneecaps, for example. It's also on the top of some of the scout mechon units. Thought I'd mention it.
More examples:
(Spoiler story mechons)
Jade Face's shoulder cannons
Yaldaboath's shoulder and on his sword in Mechonis form.
Xord's back shell thing
Some of Seven's drones have it as well, like the Sedna drones and Ishtar drones.
I think the reason his replica Monado looks like the Monado 1 is because it's the one he has all his notes on
True, he was researching 1 for several years, but only had 2 for... however long it takes you to get from Prison Island to Mechonis Core.
@@rileymartin8284 That's about what I would've guessed.
Pretty sure the scene at 14:25 was the balcony the opposite side of the stairway towards the audience chamber, altough i'm not 100% sure.
"This is what we've been waiting for!"
Thanks Luxin, love it!
I love your informative and analytical Xenoblade videos.
Future Connect will finally show us Jujonis.
Would love a feature to turn off some of the hud
I like that the orbs are back, being able to pick up items while running around and exploring just felt so much better to me than having to stop dead in my tracks at certain collection spots and repeatedly pick up items. They can still tweak the RNG, further increasing the probability of picking up certain items from item orbs at certain spots.
Going out of my way to collect item orbs is so much more enjoyable than having to stop and hear FLORA HEALS AN ACHING SOUL over and over. Just my opinion, but I'm also glad that the orbs are back!
No I really wanted them to change it, but I am too happy to care right now
Still trying to get that UK collectors set...
I am from the netherlands and you can get it on bol.com .
They ship to the us
@@timkerkemeiker9791 I'll check it out, thanks!
@@Dr.Farewell no problem, jrpgs are not well received in the netherlands so thats why it is still available. I really dont get it but only games like fifa and call of duty are normal to play here. All other games are weird or bad in most peoples opinion. It's really sad but it is the truth
I'm from uk and I've pre ordered it
@@Dr.Farewell That site is most likely a scam, be carefull!
Hopefully heart to heart are voiced
Monado III will most likely not be red, since it was modeled with the Bionis' Monado in mind.
"That's because Shulk only has one weapon."
Potential spoilers
Yes, but there's only one point in the whole game when Shulk can change weapons
The amount of work you put into this video and the qualtiy is outstanding, you got my subscription. Keep up the good work
I've been waiting for this analysis since the direct came out!
He did. He said it was shaped like the Zohar, which is the original name for the conduit in Xenogears and Xenosaga.
If we didn’t see an art get fully charged after being empty during the footage the exclamation marks on the arts could be when it gets fully charged as an indicator. It could also be effective damage that was just messed up on the metal face back slash one.
yeah well idk about the giant mechonis's sword, it looks EXTREMELY low-res in some shots...
The original wii version was not pre-rendered, because if you emulate it you can move the camera around, and stuff
Can we get links to all those screenshot and artworks? I'm having trouble finding pretty much any of it.
I hope Shulk made Sharla a Monado gun
It's a new art
*"MONADO GUN"*
(spoilers) The thing I'm kinda bummed about is the Shoulder expansion takes place after the main game. Meaning Mechonis has been destroyed and Bionis has largely fallen into the ocean at that point. So we won't get that awesome view down from the shoulder, seeing the head next to us and mechonis off in the distance.
Praise the architect for fashion gear being back
I just woke up. This is my breakfast
Good morning!!
One more step to x on the switch
I would only want that if the the next nintendo console has backwards compatibility
At this point an X port is inevitable. Just wait until this one sells well. Give it a year or so and then they will probably announce it.
Johbz Lucass the only problem being is that Xenoblade 1 is by far a better game than X. There are a lot of people who love 1 and preordered the definitive edition yet would have no interest in playing X. The game might be cool, but compared to 1, X just isn’t that great of a game
The original intro was real time.
14:33 Looks like a red Tokilos boss. See the big long wings?!
bgm03 doesn't work for me, they probably removed it :/
Do you think that the portals could connect to Xenoblade X or is it too far fetched?
Could explain how a Telethia got into Mira.
Part of me is wondering if this might be possible.
I personally don't care about owning OST's to games, I'm more of a book/art person so the Work Set Edition is fine with me.
I think Melia's been redubbed. I can't see Jenna Coleman coming back to voice this.
Wait why not. Does she hate money or something?
Ben Coleman Less Jenna Coleman’s desire to come back, more Monolithsoft’s ability to cast her again while remaining in the budget
Assuming there will be multiple rifts, what if one of the telethia goes through a rift and that rift goes into Noctilum, explaining why a telethia is in XCX
20:00 Eh, the loss of the 3DS version's model viewer isn't a big deal, and while I would say the same thing about the loss of the sound test...
...it just reminds me of how we in America are NOT getting that AMAZING vinyl record in Europe's collector's edition.
Don't worry, we can sell a kidney to import it, we only need one anyways :P
RIP, got mine pre-ordered
I like how Melia's new weapon looks like a blade weapon
I hope Shulk gets more regular arts instead of just Monado arts
Where were the extra footage trailers? Unlisted links in the description of a vid? Anyone have the links? Can’t seem to find them
Another long Luxin video. What a blessing. Thank you.
I want Dickson to be a permanent party member in new game plus. I also want his chain attack phrase to be COME GET SOME DICKSON!!!
I need my DUNBAN!!
The reason the jukebox and modelviewer etc arent in the DE is because the switch doesnt have play coins, which was used to collect all the stuff there
What about the Lambert model? Anyone think he's gonna be repurposed for Future Connected?
31:10 We hear Melia shout "Father" in the trailer on "that" island, so I believe it's the same VA as original XC1.
K.J. Daniels They are reusing the same lines from the original. It’s when it comes to the dlc that we don’t know if Jenna Coleman will be back to voice Melia. It is possible for them to just have a similar voice actor take her role for future connection if Jenna doesn’t do it.
@@Potato-pf2qs Oh, my bad. That makes sense. I hope she does return, but at least we know her voice is in main game.
Alvis is ontos CONFIRMED
I think that the rifts may be the rifts that the telethia come out of in xenoblade x. There's clearly gonna be telethia in future connected so it makes sense that this is how they will get to mira
at the end of future connected, shulk and melia reach the rift. a figure emerges from inside and falls to the ground.
fei fong wong himself is seen on the ground holding an invitation... to SMASH
but seriously, god what if alvis appears in future connected at some point and the battle system for shulk makes a complete 180 and it plays like xenoblade 2
pretty sure NOTHING was pre-rendered in the original xenoblade (means it's all IN-GAME)... check out bountary break video on xenoblade, they could move the camera around the "giants", so, no, it wasn't pre-rendered
Btw the original final fight scene was rendered in engine I assume this new one is too
I really love the glow that the red has on the mechons
SPOILERS
So you like watch blood course through a mech? Interesting tastes.
Kevin Notanactualname well I’ve quite enjoyed bloodborne so far, so this is almost a worrying pattern
Improved graphics are nice but i'm really hoping they improved the QOL in the game like maps or quest markers.
Xenoblade Chronicles: The Answer
The backgrounds are STUNNING... but that oversaturation on the character models... It makes them look like they both lack volume and strength. Dunban went from being an imposing badass warrior to generic dating simulator father.
On the other hand, I really like the Mechon models and some of what I've seen of the monsters.
Alvis looks like a villain of the week from some girly teeny-bopper anime from the 80s.
The UI looks great, though.
It doesn't look like all of the art was updated though as some of the monsters and outfits look like they had minimal edits to nothing done at all.
On the bright side with the character models, at least it looks like they might not have giant hands, but it's hard to say.
Clearly the rift is actually connected to Dark Falz from Phantasy Star :d
You can see high tension on Japanese eshop photos
