    I've watched all of your Mul T Lock vid's and you make it look so easy. So I decided to get a Dimple lock pin in pin Mul t lock and I'm having a hell of a time getting an open. I got it once but that was all luck because I haven't got an open since haha great picking have a wonderful day

      Thanks. I recommend the MTL Jr. as a beginner pin-in-pin lock. Good luck! All it takes is practice. :-)

    Nice one. You can't beat the buzz of opening MTL. Another great one.

      Thanks -- and I hate to say it, but the MTL buzz has worn off... except for the MT5+. I have a couple insolated opens on them. THAT gets my blood pumping!

    Very nicely made video sir. I like MTL, and I respect the brand. Maybe the reason behind why MTL is contracting Chinese to make their products is to make their products more competitive in regards to price point, and more competitive in volume of sales, not sacrificing the quality. China provides cheap labor, and the Quality Control dept. will check if the product is up to their standards, and rejects when it is not. Just my two cents. Thumbs up.

      Thanks. As far as MTL outsourcing to China, I don't have any complaints about the build quality of the NE Series of locks. Not sure how they pull it off, but they are as nice as any Chinese lock I've ever seen.

    It seems that you favor the Z style turning tool when picking dimple locks. Does it give advantage over say a standard turning tool or say a prybar style tool? Happy Picking!

      You are the first person to ever ask me that. The tension wrench style makes a HUGE difference. I use the long tension tool to provide a guide all the way down the keyway for my pick. This allows me to position the pick under the pins with a much higher degree of precision.

    Nice quick pick. No luck with mine yet, think I'm oversetting something. I have been able to get my 7-pin Chinese(think there is only 6 have to open 1 to confirm) and a Dom 5-pin. I had an Abus 30mm marine padlock but I can't find it(too small lol).

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  8 років тому +2

      Thanks... you will get there. on the 7 pin Chinese, try raking it. Most Chinese dimples I've come across rake very quickly.

      Thanks... it's really not that bad once you get a feel for these pins. That just takes some time.

  • @WilliamWHaywood

    So, all of their pins, even standard pins, are pin in pin? And this is true for key and driver pins? Do they change the springs up from stack to stack ever?

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  8 років тому +1

      Yes, all of them are pin in pin... the exception is in some master keyed MTL's. no spring variation.

    I can't believe MTL went to Chinese made. :( is this for all their new locks, or just NE / NG.

    • @lockmanmd8738
      @lockmanmd8738 8 років тому +3

      Just because it's Chinese made, doesn't mean they're poor quality :D Many Chinese made locks are very good quality and high security. Also, whether or not you get a Mul-t-lock product that is Chinese-made depends on where purchase your Mul-t-lock product. In Hong Kong, all Mul-t-lock products are direct from Israel. However, if you buy from Taiwan, China, and some other parts of the world (not sure if the Americas are included), the products you receive will be produced by a company in 廣州, China that was licensed by Mul-t-lock. The equipment used to cut the keys in the factory and the lock plugs however are direct from Israel.

      The quality of the NE series is very good. I have no complaints at all about that. As far as I know, the NE Series are the only MTL's made in china.
