OMG, i was just thinking the same thing, when you said "a nice little false set" totally made me think of Bob Ross 0:50 , not to mention you make it look sooo easy! keep it up
The first pin is a D external pin. A while ago they came out with a split version of the D for (as you called it) bump protection. We don't get them anymore for some reason. Probably because they don't work right when gummed up. People never take care of their locks as they should. Using the wrong oil when even remembering to oil it in the first place. The split pins stick as one.
Awesome Video LPL. Very Cool Too See. I'm currently picking a Mul-T-Lock Interactive Plus Padlock 🔐and it's giving me lots of feed back compared to my Mul-T-Lock NE12H With MT5 Core that has almost nothing to feel even tho I've picked it before. Fun times with Locksport😃🇬🇧. I must get around to doing some more videos for my channels sometime. Keep up the great work. Nick.
Thanks. As I learn more about the pinning, I am beginning to realize that there are some great pin combinations that I miss out on because they are put in the newer locks that are generally out of my price range... but a guess a few of them slip through every now and then.
Thanks... my understanding is that these pins are for post 2008 interactives which is probably why I don't see them that often. Most of my interactives are older ebay locks. Buying new ones is a bit too pricy.
Thanks -- I've been breaking down euros since the very beginning. If you look at the old videos, you can see how inept I was in the beginning. It's actually pretty humorous.
Really impressive machine works on those pins. Why is the interactive always set high? and are there exceptions to this rule? Thanks to your comprehensive videos I finally have had the confidence to try a multi-lock dimple and I placed an order for one earlier this week, its a Jr. kik mortice. Thank you!
If the interactive pin was not set high, then the key control aspect would be completely lost. The whole point of the interactive is to make copying keys difficult by adding a moving element that sets pins above the top of the keyway -- in a place that would be impossible for a key without a moving element to reach. The Jr. is a great starter MTL. Good luck with it. I have some locks set aside for you, but have not sent them out yet. I included an Angel MTL clone... they are well made copies, and will give you a little more trouble than the Jr. with its serrated outer pins.
Another good video you got there. I'm so impressed by the pinnings of mul t lock. No wonder I couldn't afford one. Nice job LockPickingLawyer. Have you tried any Abloys?
+LockPickingLawyer I was inspired by your 'how I practice picking' vid and received a box of 30 Euro cylinders today. hope none are as tough as that one 😁
Thanks -- good luck with them. I think the method really helped me with reading feedback from locks. I'll be posting another video soon about another practice technique that I use to help develop more precise picking technique.
If I bought a euro profile, could I remove the core and put it into other lock bodies/deadbolts/knobs? Also, if you buy a double cylinder do both cylinders have two identical cores you can utilize? For example if I wanted to make 2 challenge locks, would it be more economical to buy a double cylinder than a single?
Do you have even any recommended locks to use? Looking for some change in Euro Profile lock into my doors, but when I see your videos all the Euro lock opened in a matter of seconds, feels like there is no good choice.
I always watch your videos and saw this and i had two questions one is where do you get your dimple picks from? Two is you had said in a video you did a while back that you sometimes sell your locks on ebay and was wondering what your seller name is so i can check out some locks if you dont mind
The dimple picks I use are either modified GOSO picks or, in the case of this video, Spooxe picks. My ebay name is Harrythe4, but I have not listed anything in a few months.
+LockPickingLawyer yea I've been looking for some mul t locks online but I'm not sure what's to hard or not hard enough yet. But thanks for the info I'll be looking for any locks you might put up for sale I appreciate it.
Really want to start having some fun with dimple locks but I don't have any picks. Would you suggest the southord set I'm thinking that is what I'm going to go with. I just bid on a very cheap Mul-T-lock classic was gonna use my half dimond till I make up my mind on a pick set. Can't believe Sparrows or Peterson doesn't have any.
Go to lockpickcanada dot com. Sparrows and LPC are run by the same people, but the Sparrows site is dedicated to Sparrows products. LPC has the full Sparrows catalog as well as other makers LAB, Souber, Southord and others. They sell Souber dimple picks which are pricey but well made. The chinese sites (Alibaba and DHgate) have some not bad sets if you just want to dip your toes. BUT, you have to shop smart there. You're swimming with legitimate sellers, scammers, bad translations, photos that are copied and pasted from other products and so on. A good set (relatively speaking) will cost you about 20 bucks, but if you buy multiple units and sell them here you can get cheaper pricing
Personally, I think the best option for dimple picks right now is to buy some cheap Chinese picks and modify them... round out the shafts and smooth over the corners, etc. SpooXe does this for you, but at a high price. I've tried Souber's picks, but can't say that I was impressed with them. They are a bit flimsy and the flat shafts tend to lift pins that I don't intend to pick, or block pick rotation. I know that others (like Bosnian Bill) like them, so they can't be all bad. But they are flimsy enough to be unusable when applying heavy tension, which makes them uniquely unsuitable for my particular picking style. The Southord set isn't bad if you get them with plans to modify them (rounding out the shafts is a MUST), but no better than the similar set from Goso... in fact, I liked the Goso set better because the Southord handle that I got had very sharp edges (I literally cut my fingers) and didn't hold the tip very firmly. I don't know if that is normal for the product, but that was my experience. As for the lack of a good product from Peterson or Sparrows, it is surprising, but less so when you consider the relative unpopularity of dimple locks in what I presume to be their largest market -- North America.
I found a few vendors on DHgate that I trust, and I've been lucky. All picks, even Peterson's need some finishing work, but the Chinese can vary from "I think Southord is using the same factory" to "I think Ginsu is using the same factory". Because the stuff is so much cheaper, for the price of the Souber set, you could get the dimple picks, some disc detainers, a few tubular picks and still have money left over
I forgot about souber I was thinking southord would definitely be workable like you said clean them up/modify. I was wondering about goso where I'm not a big fan of thier reg picks if thier dimples are any better. I thought Klom had a set but I'm not finding it right now. I'm thinking I might get the Goso and look into the Chinese sets. I like to have back ups of different brands. It'll have to wait till later mailman just dropped off my new 6-pin titalium
Hello LPL, similar as int. padlocks You've got a interactive plus key, but i can't see if it is int. plus cylinder or just int. please look on other side of plug if int.plus pin its protrudes from plug and check shape of int. pin activatot in plug (circular peak - int., oval peak or offset peak - int. plus) if it is int.PLUS can You make video wit details please? i cannot find any other video or pics with it.. (and just have no time/opportunity to visite distributor to check it out) thanks PS
This one is definitely an interactive plus cylinder -- it has the little pin coming out of the bottom with the oval top inside -- and it has all the interactive plus pinning. As it turns out, I have another one of these Israeli locks on its way to me. I'd be happy to show the difference if/when I make a video of that lock.
The pins are great for bump protection and pick resistance, and the lock has drill protection as well. LPL is an extremely talented lock picker which is why he was able to get in so quickly, but if you look at some of his newer videos, he doesn't even give bad locks the respect of picking them, he will just bypass them, or rake them.
Hi! I'm on the market for two new cylinders and was wondering if you could share your opinion. Ideally, both cylinders will use the same key. I'd like to be somewhat secure, against picking *and* drilling snapping. I was thinking Mul-T-Lock but its breaking resistance doesn't look that good (compared to a Bricard with its steel plates at the bottom: www.leroymerlin.fr/v3/p/produits/cylindre-de-serrure-debrayable-l-30-30-mm-bricard-trial-s-e13513#) What would be your advice. Ideally sub 150€ per cylinder (they're probably much more expensive in Europe than in the US)
The sound of your voice is so soothing, you're really the Bob Ross of lock picking.
Also, impressive picking, for such difficult pins.
LOL. Thanks.
OMG, i was just thinking the same thing, when you said "a nice little false set" totally made me think of Bob Ross 0:50 , not to mention you make it look sooo easy! keep it up
Jay O Come back when I start I start talking about setting happy little pins.
I have learned so much about locks just by watching your videos - thank you. And I love the surgical precision of your picking and gutting. Inspiring!

Cool lock. Thanks for sharing it with us. Always learning from your channel and just want you to know its appreciated brother!
Great picking as always! There is a little something that should be showing up at your place tomorrow.
Thanks. I got the package. Great work foiling BB! Thanks for giving me a chance.

Wow, just checked out this nice old video and how far you've come!
Great picking as always and very interesting pinning. Thanks.

Wow, impressive-looking pins. Picking is impressive too of course. :)
Thank you.
Excellent pinning!! That’s a cool lock!!
Perfect. I have a few MTL with pins like them. Anyways lovely work. Keep the MTL coming. Got my attention good style. Thanks.
Thanks... my understanding is that these pins are for post 2008 interactives which is probably why I don't see them that often. Most of my interactives are older ebay locks. Buying new ones is a bit too pricy.
great job picking and breaking down the lock, your so international.

nice picking, them pin in pins look so difficult and that one looked nasty with spools ect!
Thanks -- the inner driver pin spooling/outer key pin under cut is definitely nasty.
Another good video you got there. I'm so impressed by the pinnings of mul t lock. No wonder I couldn't afford one. Nice job LockPickingLawyer. Have you tried any Abloys?
Thanks, and no, I have not tried abloys (or dedicated much time at all to disc detainer locks).
So this was your first video, cool
What a nasty Euro, great picking
It was, and thank you.
great work as always!
Would like to know what kind of tension your using during picking these types of locks. Very impressive, so fast!!!
Hmmm. That's very difficult to answer in a comment. Best to direct you to video #188. The concepts discussed there apply to this lock.
Impressive lock! (And picking 😜
Thanks.

Medeco Maxum M3 vs Mul-T-Lock Interactive plus, for better pick/bump resistance?
wow - really nasty pins :-)
Thanks, and yes they were. I was a bit surprised that it opened so quickly.

can you explain why this lock is a good lock? everybody say it is yet still you broke it :(.
The pins are great for bump protection and pick resistance, and the lock has drill protection as well.
