I've been dealing with an energy vampire for years, but it's actually been super beneficial to my growth because I've had to learn how to navigate a friendly relationship with someone who makes enemies everywhere. I've learned that you can feed them positive energy and it does have an effect, but they still crave the negativity. Our paths are diverging however and I'm grateful for the experience, but am relieved as well.
One of the best ways to deal with an energy vampire or a psychic vampire is to visualise a ball of light surrounding you. Some energy vampires can do this in order to prevent manipulation by others. In my case, people who sit nearby are recently being asked to visualise themselves covered by white light fields to prevent drainage. Recently it has been suggested that narcissists may be terrified of mind vampirism which might explain their dislike for high quality horror literature and horror movies. I have observed that subjects who have tried this have not experienced any drainage. This is a coherent, sensible advise to regulate mind vampirism.
There are spiritual gurus who siphon energy from the adoration and attachment of their followers. They feed off their worship. I have seen cult leaders do the same.
The worst vamp for me is the severely emotionally needy that are desperate for contact and attention. I find they will ask needless questions just to engage me in conversation. I feel them coming a mile away. I literally cannot force myself to stay in their proximity.

There is polarity for a reason. One comment on an old YT video that was 30 seconds in my thought stream is not “focusing” on these qualities and attracting it. I realised ~4/5 years ago that was exactly me. Energy vampire. Completely unconscious of my actions and their reprocussions. Thank you for this information. It explains what I was struggling to make sense of. My Ex is a conscious and advanced “spiritual” being. She is also a Cruel Narcissist. Nobody would believe it. She literally has masses of people fooled. I drove myself crazy trying to figure out how someone so self aware and spiritually advanced (who has thousands of admirers) that love & adore her and see her projection of a loving goddess could be a cruel narcissist. I feel your pain, my friend. I lived through a very similar situation, an ex that was diagnosed as either Borderline or Bipolar 2, by different doctors... Someone very focused on cultivating an immaculate image that didn't live up to reality behind closed doors. Who knew some magick, enough to do questionable things. I like to think that I also played a role in their development and for them to start a path to redemption, but that's not up to me anyway, I've focused on my own healing and growth since learning from that harsh lesson. I had to slowly separate/ghost from a clique during COVID, because I noticed they talked shit about each other when one person was gone. But when everyone was together, they did all the fake smiles/fake love and pretended it was all good. Behind the scenes, I knew how certain people really felt, so I learned to mind my business and just wish the best for everyone. The problem with that is that they see you as a threat, because you don't co-sign their BS, or you have your own life outside of the clique. You can still be supportive to them and their work, without being directly involved in the spiderweb of toxicity, jealousy, narcissism, back-stabbing and envy. It's best to keep a respectful distance once you peep the BS. Because even though they'll now see you as the enemy, you have your peace and freedom from the silly shenanigans they play with each other.

I’ll be moving out soon but my parents are energy vampires. I recently called my mother out on how her behavior severely negatively impacts me. This has helped me come to terms and learn to cope with my PTSD that they trigger daily. It’s incredibly difficult being here. Since I’ve said something, it’s been better and worse. I feel empowered but I know that the tower is crumbling fast and that feels intimidating. Not sure if you read comments, especially on older videos like this, but I could teach you a LOT about energy vampires beyond what you have said here. People that use the tactics you describe do "suck energy" to an extent, but there are those who literally suck life force out of people, that hang out in places like malls (well they used to when there were a lot of people at malls) and take energy hits from people. If you have ever been in a crowded place and had a brief feeling of nausea or weakness that quickly passed, you have likely been a victim of a life force vampire. Again, LOTS I could tell you about that, and you have been helpful to me in other topics, I would be glad to share with you.

Yes if you mistake the common buzzword "Narcissism" for actual clinically diagnosable NPD - Narcissistic Personality Disorder, you will miss all the other archetypes you mention as most people associate Narcissism with grandiosity and very obvious and visible traits of narcissism. However, there are different types of NPD. A 'Covert Narcissist' otherwise known as a 'Vulnerable Narcissist' is the Damsel in Distress and can employ the selfless and supportive tactic as part of their 'Love Bombing' phase. I've been doing "spiritual" work for over 15 years and the information and instruction within it is so fluffy using so much flowery metaphoric language. Nothing has helped me spot and effectively deal with energy vampires more than studying clinical NPD and seeing these people through that framework, and especially listening to other people stories and experiences through this framework. Its solid, real-world mundane language and the concepts are really easy to grasp and you don't have to rely on fluffy otherworldly 'energy' concepts. This information is particularly helpful for those of us who really struggle to listen to and trust their intuition - which is usually those of us who haven't processed unresolved trauma and fully connected with our bodies and nervous systems yet. People with NPD are really obvious if you know what you're looking for. Their behaviour is all ultimately the same, they all do the same thing, have the same patterns playing out all the time depending on which subtype they have. When you have a solid understanding of the psychology of NPD, you have a list of red flags to look out for and an intellectual framework to back up your intuition. NPD is no joke. Studies have shown that narcissistic abuse over an prolonged period of time causes real physical brain damage, CPTSD, IBS, Fibromyalgia and Autoimmune Conditions. Narc abuse is physical abuse. And it's usually those of us that get too caught up in spiritual concepts of being "loving" and compassionate and understanding of someones struggles that get taken for a ride by people who bleed us dry and move onto the next victim when they've taken all they can. Parasite is not an underestimation or a metaphorical word to describe someone, these people ARE parasites. They're empty. They are something else in human form but they do not have a human soul or heart. They may display tons of cognitive empathy but they are incapable of real emotional empathy. This means they intellectually understand what emotions are and how they are supposed to feel in certain situations, but they do not feel them. This is the biggest shock to empathic people. We find it so hard to believe that someone cannot feel empathy that we gaslight ourselves when they do something cruel or unempathetic, then we do some mental gymnastics to make excuses for them and explain away their behaviours. If you can fully accept that some people do not feel things the way we do, they cannot feel true empathy, remorse or guilt, and most importantly; that people with NPD NEVER change no matter how much you love them, you will have fully landed on Planet Earth. Welcome to the real world.

Here's your clarity for "energy vampires". Simple: "psychic vampirism" is a "medieval" term (a time period that never actually existed) for the dark trinity of narcissism, sociopathy, and psychopathy. So just apply the concepts of those disorders from teachers/healers that are least connected to big pHarma and/or conflicts of interest, and apply to pranic manipulation: sucking, over heating, over cooling, imbalance, disharmonic/distorted energy, ...or switching around and pulling... and apply that to the archetypes of the chakra system. If you want to take this further, do extensive research to find the least fucked with version of the Kabalah because it's the original "Human Genome Project Blueprint" in energetic archetypical form. You can take this a step further by learning about linguistics and finding out the intentions behind the unscrupulous magis' multileveled psychopathy (body, speech, mind, prana/spirit manipulation). These shit heads will always attack your root and throat chakras first because they want to unground you so they can get at your throat chakra - which contains the energetic blueprint of your whole energy body, much like how the soles of your feet contain this for your physical body - and keep you stuck in between these 5 paradigms because the big headed demi gods of planet Heart--->Earth (5 levels, 5 chakras) want to keep you stuck ungrounded and fluctuating in these 5 and in survival. They are extremely hostile and jealous and want you out of your intuition and not connected to your godhead because they can't get there themselves by their modus operandi, because Buddha and his Sangha turned all the selfish gods living in the higher realms against the demi god insanoes and so all they have to work with is Archons/macrobes, and hell beings and dumbass nephilim/raphaim offspring, and people that are barely even human anymore.

I know energy vampires who absolutely know consciously they are an energy vampire and have to go seek out ppl in the moment bc they need energy they make phone calls they go outside to see if anyone’s around if no one is around and no one is answering the phone they will go to the store and start up conversations with people it’s like a shark feeding frenzy but they have a routine of who they suck and how much they suck and have back ups on who to suck. And if “regular conversation” doesn’t work then they go for the triggering comments and create drama bc they are desperate for the attention/energy

It postulates 3 roles for mind games: the Rescuer, the Persecutor and the Victim. I feel your pain, my friend. I lived through a very similar situation, an ex that was diagnosed as either Borderline or Bipolar 2, by different doctors...
Someone very focused on cultivating an immaculate image that didn't live up to reality behind closed doors. Who knew some magick, enough to do questionable things.
I like to think that I also played a role in their development and for them to start a path to redemption, but that's not up to me anyway, I've focused on my own healing and growth since learning from that harsh lesson.

I'm starting to understand where the saying comes from, "if you search for enlightenment, go to the desert."
I had to slowly separate/ghost from a clique during COVID, because I noticed they talked shit about each other when one person was gone. But when everyone was together, they did all the fake smiles/fake love and pretended it was all good.
Behind the scenes, I knew how certain people really felt, so I learned to mind my business and just wish the best for everyone. The problem with that is that they see you as a threat, because you don't co-sign their BS, or you have your own life outside of the clique. You can still be supportive to them and their work, without being directly involved in the spiderweb of toxicity, jealousy, narcissism, back-stabbing and envy.
It's best to keep a respectful distance once you peep the BS. Because even though they'll now see you as the enemy, you have your peace and freedom from the silly shenanigans they play with each other.

I’ll be moving out soon but my parents are energy vampires. I recently called my mother out on how her behavior severely negatively impacts me. This has helped me come to terms and learn to cope with my PTSD that they trigger daily. It’s incredibly difficult being here. Since I’ve said something, it’s been better and worse. I feel empowered but I know that the tower is crumbling fast and that feels intimidating. Dear Sarah, you incorporate a non human sense of “humour” I enjoy this.
Not sure if you read comments, especially on older videos like this, but I could teach you a LOT about energy vampires beyond what you have said here. People that use the tactics you describe do "suck energy" to an extent, but there are those who literally suck life force out of people, that hang out in places like malls (well they used to when there were a lot of people at malls) and take energy hits from people. If you have ever been in a crowded place and had a brief feeling of nausea or weakness that quickly passed, you have likely been a victim of a life force vampire. Again, LOTS I could tell you about that, and you have been helpful to me in other topics, I would be glad to share with you.
You are right but these life-force energy vampires operate remotely too. They've gone tech and their numbers have grown and continues to grow with frightening speed. They call it "nutting" or "drip drip" in the streets, and you'll be shocked to know the communities and groups behind this. It's like the purer or cleaner, the bigger the target. Yes if you mistake the common buzzword "Narcissism" for actual clinically diagnosable NPD - Narcissistic Personality Disorder, you will miss all the other archetypes you mention as most people associate Narcissism with grandiosity and very obvious and visible traits of narcissism. However, there are different types of NPD. A 'Covert Narcissist' otherwise known as a 'Vulnerable Narcissist' is the Damsel in Distress and can employ the selfless and supportive tactic as part of their 'Love Bombing' phase. I've been doing "spiritual" work for over 15 years and the information and instruction within it is so fluffy using so much flowery metaphoric language. Nothing has helped me spot and effectively deal with energy vampires more than studying clinical NPD and seeing these people through that framework, and especially listening to other people stories and experiences through this framework. Its solid, real-world mundane language and the concepts are really easy to grasp and you don't have to rely on fluffy otherworldly 'energy' concepts. This information is particularly helpful for those of us who really struggle to listen to and trust their intuition - which is usually those of us who haven't processed unresolved trauma and fully connected with our bodies and nervous systems yet. People with NPD are really obvious if you know what you're looking for. Their behaviour is all ultimately the same, they all do the same thing, have the same patterns playing out all the time depending on which subtype they have. When you have a solid understanding of the psychology of NPD, you have a list of red flags to look out for and an intellectual framework to back up your intuition. NPD is no joke. Studies have shown that narcissistic abuse over an prolonged period of time causes real physical brain damage, CPTSD, IBS, Fibromyalgia and Autoimmune Conditions. Narc abuse is physical abuse. And it's usually those of us that get too caught up in spiritual concepts of being "loving" and compassionate and understanding of someones struggles that get taken for a ride by people who bleed us dry and move onto the next victim when they've taken all they can. Parasite is not an underestimation or a metaphorical word to describe someone, these people ARE parasites. They're empty. They are something else in human form but they do not have a human soul or heart. They may display tons of cognitive empathy but they are incapable of real emotional empathy. This means they intellectually understand what emotions are and how they are supposed to feel in certain situations, but they do not feel them. This is the biggest shock to empathic people. We find it so hard to believe that someone cannot feel empathy that we gaslight ourselves when they do something cruel or unempathetic, then we do some mental gymnastics to make excuses for them and explain away their behaviours. If you can fully accept that some people do not feel things the way we do, they cannot feel true empathy, remorse or guilt, and most importantly; that people with NPD NEVER change no matter how much you love them, you will have fully landed on Planet Earth. Welcome to the real world.

Here's your clarity for "energy vampires". Simple: "psychic vampirism" is a "medieval" term (a time period that never actually existed) for the dark trinity of narcissism, sociopathy, and psychopathy. So just apply the concepts of those disorders from teachers/healers that are least connected to big pHarma and/or conflicts of interest, and apply to pranic manipulation: sucking, over heating, over cooling, imbalance, disharmonic/distorted energy, ...or switching around and pulling... and apply that to the archetypes of the chakra system. If you want to take this further, do extensive research to find the least fucked with version of the Kabalah because it's the original "Human Genome Project Blueprint" in energetic archetypical form. You can take this a step further by learning about linguistics and finding out the intentions behind the unscrupulous magis' multileveled psychopathy (body, speech, mind, prana/spirit manipulation). These shit heads will always attack your root and throat chakras first because they want to unground you so they can get at your throat chakra - which contains the energetic blueprint of your whole energy body, much like how the soles of your feet contain this for your physical body - and keep you stuck in between these 5 paradigms because the big headed demi gods of planet Heart--->Earth (5 levels, 5 chakras) want to keep you stuck ungrounded and fluctuating in these 5 and in survival. They are extremely hostile and jealous and want you out of your intuition and not connected to your godhead because they can't get there themselves by their modus operandi, because Buddha and his Sangha turned all the selfish gods living in the higher realms against the demi god insanoes and so all they have to work with is Archons/macrobes, and hell beings and dumbass nephilim/raphaim offspring, and people that are barely even human anymore.

I know energy vampires who absolutely know consciously they are an energy vampire and have to go seek out ppl in the moment bc they need energy they make phone calls they go outside to see if anyone’s around if no one is around and no one is answering the phone they will go to the store and start up conversations with people it’s like a shark feeding frenzy but they have a routine of who they suck and how much they suck and have back ups on who to suck. And if “regular conversation” doesn’t work then they go for the triggering comments and create drama bc they are desperate for the attention/energy
So very on point. Just got out of a situation after calling them both out on their behavior. Gosh they get really upset. I am grateful for the lessons I've learned through this experience. Trying not to retaliate is hard so I don't. I'm increasingly cultivating discernment oh yahhhhhhhhhh.

It postulates 3 roles for mind games: the Rescuer, the Persecutor and the Victim.
