Note: I covered an early build of Sauna 2000 a couple of years ago but this latest Autumn Night Prologue demo is much improved and you have a buddy this time too! It's hidden away on the Haunted PS1: Spectral Mall disc. To unlock it you need to turn on the TV in the Janitor's office.
Any hints on where to find the remote for the TV?
Have no idea, I've been searching for now 2 hours or so and still not find it, lmao
@@xenon756 walk up or down the looping stairs for a while, at some point you should hear a radio, continue walking until you find the remote on the ground near the wall
How do i get to the stairs?
Does Moya Horror know this?
The most relaxing horror game I've ever seen. Until halfway in
Average day in Finland
When your sauna is so relaxing even Perkele himself joins and sips your beer
I think it was also a refence to "viinapiru" (the devil of liquor). It is quite common to see devils, gremlins and that kind of stuff, when you are suffering from Delirium tremens.

I remember this game. Looks like it received an update!
And I absolutely love this new intro
There's lots of cool stuff about this game, but I'm especially impressed by the "datamoshing" effect that maps onto the 3d geometry you're moving through, I have no idea how that would be done.
My guess: an overlay applied to the camera, showing low memory VFX based on objects mipmaping - so always changing depending on the camera's distance.
I believe that this is meant to mimic sonys cost cutting mesures from back in the day
@@rgracing4109maybe it was, but the ps1 didn't really do that... and as person who's first "real" introduction to video games was the ps1, i can see _sooo_ many things that tells me that this is not a ps1 game. Its extremely hard to look past those obvious inauthentic things this game does when the ps1 is engrained into your soul.
@@jackelewish1568 fair.
10:43 don't you hate it when you're doing all the work heating the sauna and Satan just shows up after he avoided doing any of the work to drink your beer?
it’s so annoying!
I gues that's not satan, that's something like bannik. Slavic folklore has bannik as a spirit/imp living in sauna. I guess Finns have similar creature.
@@shadyone6620 Does Bannik also kill you when you steal its beer?
@@AntipaladinPedigri Yeah, why not? It can kill for less than that.
@@shadyone6620 I guess you can say you have been Bannikshed from its beer cellar
That style of music (by the way) is called Iskelmä (Iskelma) and is traditional finnish melancholic pop, usually an old people thing but listened out of tradition and irony by some modern finnish people. And many of them are actual bops and aged well. It's similar to japanese karaoke pop
You may have also heard it in My Summer Car
I kinda want to find the Ievan Polkka parody they played, sounds something like Jope Ruonansuu would have done.
Some of it sounded a lot like enka to me!
I do appreciate how the game lets you murder your buddy with your axe. That's quite appropriate for a horror game, according to my calculations.
They deserve after barging in, doing no work, and drinking my beer
He only thinks he's our buddy.
If you drink another mans beer and takes advantage of his sauna and hospitality without lifting a finger to help, said man is allowed to axe you in the head.
-Geneva convention
good, time to commit *NOT* war crimes
ah, nice to see you revisiting this game...love it! ...but the older one had a more warm feeling...like home or smth...
Very cool how the lighting and simple textures make something so simple seem even more realistic.
I loved the environment in the last ending! The thoughtfulness really shows, and it reminds me of how packed-together many of these alley/narrow street businesses feel
Seeing that red car parked like that was the scariest thing in the game!
I've seen so many horror movies that I came to develop OCD with my car every time I go somewhere remote, a cabin, chalet, camping, whatever. I park my car as close to the lodge as possible, the front of the car facing the road so if I have to escape in a rush I just have to floor it.
Key #1 in the cup holder (if we're just among friends or family), Key #2 in my pocket, with the remote lock/unlock. Gatorade for electrolytes and sugar in case of blood loss. In a small case I always have CBD pills as painkillers and for slowing the heartbeat rate, Ibuprofene, gauze and medical tape.
No f*cking way I get killed like a stupid comic relief because I dropped my keys in the dark!
Jaska went there with no intention of coming back... :)
You sound just like me. In case of cardiac problems many doctors advice carrying a loading dose also. Please Google that. That just might be a valuable addition
It's a saab for goodness sakes (sorry for being an asshole when it comes to Finnish things it's a necessity to correct people it's just finnishism showing off)
also this game has gotten more goofy and fun with Errki, and the wood mini game... can't wait to see the other half
25:11 - 25:12 ... that translates to:
You didn't want to sawk me awff, so you paid the ultimate price.
Ayo? That some wicked intro, ABG!
And I think I remember this before. Didn't know that it had been updated. Nice!
I remember when you uploaded the first video of this game, at that time I had problems with drugs and your videos served me as a refuge, today after all that time I have seen your videos again but this time totally clean, you do a very good job and You have generated a very pleasant entertainment and nostalgia for me =)
It's hard to get over that, but being able to live relatively healthy and safe is a more than good enough payoff. Keep up champ!
@@kimutone2970 Thanks for your words, brother. The feeling of living as naturally and healthily as possible is unmatched :)
I just read this comment but I hope you're still doing well! Drugs are an extremely hard thing to kick, you should be ultra proud of yourself :)
Finally more Sauna 2000!
I love how we went from Finland to Japan through some shenanigans involving Saunas.
1:56 he is taking huge slow steps as if he was Elmer Fudd sneaking up while hunting wabbits
finnish really is one of the most made-up sounding languages
Yoooo, I was just thinking about the first one you covered. Mainly the crazy Sims gibberish they’re speaking

Less bentzos for you Buddy.

But much more
So from what I understand axe murder prevents world war 3 and firing off a nuke.
Totally worth it.
I remember this game, it taught me word "perkele"
Just by reading the title, I knew the game took place in Finland. lol
Yes! I loved this unsettling strange game when I saw it last, I’m glad it’s got an new facelift and is still as bizarre and uncomfortable as ever!
5:59 Ah yes, the Leekspin theme.
The new intro/outro is really charming. This game, on the other hand.. It's quite something, alright.
I love this version too but I liked the previous version a little better it was way more eerie being all alone in the woods by yourself, this is taking the piss a bit too much for my taste
2:27 alright, that was enough beers for you for today
The original game was one of my favorites on this channel that you played.
Last sauna.
is it really a horror game if satan also joins you in enjoying the sauna? I would call that an achievement
It is. This is a horror because the reality is that satan only likes you for your sauna.
the things satan said were disturbing to say the least
You can get a secret ending where you are chased by a japanese murderer
The most horrifying thing about this game is the nostalgic whiplash I got when Ievan Polka started playing in the background Lmao
Oh hey, they added new content to the sauna game? Lit!
Yes
Rebuilt from ground up

Love the New opening you provide bro 👌
Art-direction perfection
Thank you
Did you just steal that demon's beer and drink it? Guess it serves him right for crashing your sauna!
I didn’t know it was possible, but I’ve been proven wrong :D
And if you drop the bottle then it levitates too! Truly demonic beer! :)
@@AlphaBetaGamer haha! Cos he kept smashing it! I got to change the tag on that bottle :D
I'm glad they retained that ackward line at 9:16
That death scene with the bear was amusing, heheheh.
15:30 murder: always the better choice when faced with having to undress yourself in the presence of another guy
I knew I was doing something right
Wow this game is so awesome, wishlisted.
Thank you!
This games is WTF and funny! XD
It has funny moments and also gloomy, strange, extravagant, etc... and it also has moments of "liminal spaces" or spaces that seem like dreams, such as that place that looks like a sauna but more modern, inside a more " closed" than the humble cabin at the beginning.
lol, I like the new player avatar, before game play starts. So hilariously choppy.
Love the new intro btw.
I hate when I'm in the sauna relaxing with my homie and all of a sudden a finnish demon shows up and drinks my beer
Erkki is actually a finnish comedian Pertti Pasanen mostly known for his show Speden Spelit
Это как настоящий фильм. Очень мощно!
I love it when my country is featured in horror games.
You should feel proud. 👍

@@Antlaax Torille!!
Can you explain what the hell is going on in it for a non-Finn? What's with the druid viking thing and the massive ball of fog?
This game has really developed since it first came out.
I need a little explanation.
I know about the belief that you shouldn't shower/sauna at night (that horned guy will come and drink your beer). But what happens next? What is this person in the end?
It's an alternate playthrough. He did not sauna for the third time, he probably just got in hell after killing the guy or something
@@seriouslyWeird Аh, I thought it was a game about Finnish mythology or something. Thanks.
@@meliahl4183 It's just interpret of Juhannus, the Midsummer holiday celebrated in Finland, which is associated with beer drinking and sauna in Summer Night.
@@MrPhantaze thanks!
@@meliahl4183 For more context; Midsummer Holiday carries a weird juxtaposition. For most, it's a celebration in lakeside cottages, sauna and beer but also every year people die. Most drown but murders happen too in these idyllic settings. There's a weird melancholy that goes with the whole thing.
Love the new intro animations!
Weird how Finnish is totally non-Indo-European, but still sounds 'Scandinavian' in this game. To my ears, anyway. I think it's the rhythm of speech. Scandies always talk clearly and slowly, with long pauses. (Someone will probably say the Danish speak like they have a potato in their mouth!).
Oh, and a Finnish guy told me once that they had banned the sauna challenges, because too many died in the attempt to win. I think he said it was non-Finnish people trying it that caused the deaths. I don't think many died though - just one or two.
ALpha, please please please respond I love the sauna game I am trying so hard to find it in the spectral mall. How did you play this game!?????????
Hi! No worries, you need to turn on the TV in the Janitor's office. The remote control for it is in on the floor in the endless stairwell. Also, make sure you have the latest version of Spectral Mall installed as the early versions didn't have the Sauna 2000 on it.
@@AlphaBetaGamer where is the janitor? Sorry to bother you ;-; and thanks for the response!
I adore the artistic style of this game.
I love the vibes of this one
i think im the only still hoping the full game comes out. ive been wait for almost 3 years :(
This is the second game in Finland were ppl have crates of beer. Is that a thing over there?
Was a thing in the days of yore. Sadly super rare these days. Aluminum cans took over
@@MOYAHORROR thx
this game reminds me of My Summer Car
like 2011 i played a game on the pc it started off in first person view and he was living in a rv with his wife and she sent him off with a list in the beginning i remember milk being an item. he did things like walk around the town into houses he could be locked up he went into stores idk what game it is tho i can’t seem to think of it
Is this game connected to Walk, another demo on the Haunted PS1 Demo Disc? In the secret ending of Walk, you get to see a Finnish music video and I’m pretty sure Moya Horror (the developer of Sauna 2000) is credited at the end. You also end up in a Japanese sauna room in one of the endings of Sauna 2000 (as shown in this video) and Walk is a Japanese game, so are they somehow connected? Interesting!
Nice thatyou come back to this game
Most normal day in Finland
this reminds me of lakeview cabin! just first person perspective
The fucking nod after you just straight up axe murder the guy
Wow, what a long way this game has been going to.
First sauna.
Cara..esse gráfico é bizarramente interessante. Curti muito seus vídeos. Sucesso!!!
I enjoyed the sauna part much more than the horror parts.
Where can I get the full game - I have the demo, but I want the full version
Not out
Yeah, I remember this game.
seems like a average day in finland
So, for some reason i have always been intrigued of what the devil is saying in his monologue in sauna. I now translated it as direct as possible. Here goes:
"Huh, its hellishly hot in here. Well well, here we are having sauna like theres no tomorrow. Look at that, Erkki too! What... What kind of a brain fart the size of perkele is this? Are we chewing on the same shit (note: a finnish saying, means are we still talking about it), tell me that?? (burbs) It was a truuuly hard job getting that sauna going. Yet you couldnt run away from your own mind. Did you stop stressing already? Yeees yeees, what difference does it make as clearly this, too, isnt real. Because devil is sitting in the sauna with a bottle of spirits in his hand again. This is actually water, otherwise i would lose my life (note: finnish word of "henki" means life, but also means "spirit". So it could be a reference to holy spirit or something?), hahhahhahhahhh... Well, well, looking through Window it seems like The beginning is coming. (note: i cant make out what he says, i will edit it here when i realise what he says). Yeah, true, it does seem quite thin, still. The whole initial structure. Almost like full of emptiness. As thousands of atoms. All the atoms fucking smashed. How the fuck is this shit still intact? Did you do something? I told you to keep your fingers off from those chores. Its better to just relax and sweat all the shit away. Its going to be alright. And if not, then its not."
Haha! Thank you very much for the translation! That Devil's unhinged! :)
@@AlphaBetaGamer yeah, his monologue doesnt Make much sense in Finnish either, but i think as a Finn thats quite realistic. Saunas are Usually places where Finnish people somehow let their imagination run Wild. So conversation in sauna Usually is almost like that, jumping from a subject to another. And, after all, what he says is quite positive And very Finnish in nature haha

POV: you died in killer7
El personaje se mueve mas lento en comparación con la anterior demo del Haunted PS1 Demo Disc del 2020.
Cuando llegas tarde al club de J-Horror.
can any finnish viewers translate what the devil is saying?
Here's what the demon is saying @ 10:32, my rough translation:
Ugh!
It's hell of a hot here again.
Well well, here we're enjoying the sauna like the last day.
Oh, Erkki is here too. What's up?
What? What kind of a brainfart is this?
Do we just keep on jabbering the same nonsense?
Tell me!
It was QUITE the task heating up of the sauna.
...But you couldn't escape your own headspace.
Did you already stop the stressing?
Yeah yeah, what does it matter?
When clearly even THIS is not real.
Because the devil is once again sitting here, with the bottle of spirit at hand.
...It's water actually, otherwise it would be fatal. Hahahah!
Well well, looking through the window it looks like the end is coming.
The beginning, or the ending?
Vaikko ("or") is the name of swamp too.
Yeah, it's still looking quite faint.
The beginning, almost all just nothingness.
Thousands of atoms, thousand splinters the whole atoms.
How the hell is this heap of crap (the sauna) still standing?
Did you say something?
Say; keep your hands off from these matters!
It's better to just take it easy, and sweat the shit away.
It will all work out.
If not, then not...
The last one went to another japanese game?
Looked like a preview for Chilla's Art's "The Bathhouse"
Muistuttaa vähän my summer caria
I guess that they are speaking Finnish, since the Fin flag is flying on the flagpole.
Wait a sec...I see that the title of this video already says that it is Finnish. Shame on me for not noticing that. Shame, shame, shame.
I can't wait until Joel plays this.
5:44 How did you stack the wood so fast?
Beautiful
Who is the artist behind this version of Ievan Polka?
What, no vihta?
Does somebody know what is the demom talking about when he's chilling in the sauna?
Hi! The developer says the demon's speech is supposed to be deliberately ambiguous, so I don't think it's a real language.
@@AlphaBetaGamer Ahhh I see, I always thought that he was just speaking Finnish, but thanks for clearing that out for me!
It's Finnish. General small talk about his presence and sauna etc.
@@AlphaBetaGamer The demon's just speaking finnish with a heavy accent. Finnish can sound too ambiguous to be a real language to others sometimes😂 They could have translated the demon's talk too, the guy's funny
Ah cool! I guess it's only ambiguous if you don't speak Finnish then! Good to know. Thanks! :)
No perkelettäkö se auton akkuna piti särkiä. Spedeki vielä!
