It's an issue that started with Clinton and continues today. The organization that was formed as a military response to the USSR & Eastern Bloc should have never been used for that purpose. It was completely foolish. The EU or EEC could have been used to give these nations access to the European market and bolster them economically.

You may not be aware, but the western MIC have been ramping up for quite a while now and the results are showing. Just on the 155mm shells, by the end of the year 2024 they will be at 2.4 mio shells per year (not accounting for the 152mm of course), which is less than Russia, but way more than two years ago and 6'500 shells per day.
The western powers clearly didn't prepare nor planned for this war (showing they clearly didn't want it), but it's no surprise that a block of 900 million people accounting for half the wealth of the entire world, among them the US that alone procudes more oil that Russia can outproduce a country of 140 million people accounting for a tiny fraction of the world's wealth and already forced to refurbish old T-62 and beg North Korea for shells of dubious quality.

NATO expansion's a threat? Finland joined and Russia's moved the soldiers on the border to Ukraine. Not exactly the behavior if you feared invasion. Also, nukes means Russia will never be invaded.
US interference in Ukraine? Go back to the 2003 Tuzla Island incident where Russia tries to build a dam on Ukraine's territory (where Kerch Straight Bridge now sits) and then poisons Ukraine's President 1 year later.

Trump's peace ultimatum is an example of Americans loving to talk and hear their own voices. The US has no influence on the outcome of this conflict or any conflict and it would be the same if they deployed their own troops. They really need to back off because the outcome of this one won't just be them withdrawing, like Afghanistan.
There is no way EU seriously wants the economic and geopolitical burden of Ukraine. This is simply a political tactic. They want investors 2 be positive about Ukrainias future. There is no way Ukraine is even close 2 meeting EU standards.

Sorry, but where do you get the News regarding the EU? The TALKS for the membersship have just started. Nothing more! Those talks may take years and it is not even sure If they are a success for the Ukraine. For example the Turkey didn't manage to become a full member. There are Standards which have to be met otherwise other countries like Bosnia who also isn't a member jet would protest.
As for me this whole EU-Membership-thing is not even a real threat towards Russian. It's more like: They talked about it and now Zelensky wants to show something to his people.
