hi first of all I want to thank you for the video, it is very well explained. On the other hand, I had a crash and I have AFS in my car, but I got a non-AFS that is aesthetically the same, can I make it work? If you can explain to me how to make the form, I will do it. I am from Argentina and it is difficult for me to receive an adapter from another country.
Hi XenonLand. I have a freshly refurbished headlights on my B7 for 1 year now. In the Audi dealer they had to remove the front bumper. Ever since they reinstalled the bumper I have moister issue on my headlights. One of the headlights was cracked and now I ordered a new one, but last night I saw a little moister on the other headlight. Do you think it's possible to have moister coming from the ballast, maybe the rubber seal needs adjustment? The moister is coming from the inner bottom edge of the headlight.
If the rubber seal is not deformed/damaged it is very unlikely to be the source of the condensation. There is always some kind of a damage on the headlight case or the lens itself. Just needs to be inspect carefully. Even a small crack around the mounting points is enough to prevent the headlight from "breathing" properly.
Most of the time (almost 99%) it does not have anything to do with the lens! If there is a crack at the lens you can easily see it. Most of the time damage/source of the condensation is on the headlight casing. Watch this video (part-2 will be uploaded in 1-2 hours): ua-cam.com/video/BM9doXUsgKw/v-deo.html
Wow, thanks for the video is really educating me. Can I swap my normal halogen lights to the projector xenon lights and what are advantages and disadvantages? Thanks
This was a very useful video. You likely saved me some costly mistakes. Will you make a video on troubleshooting dipped light errors? My son has. 2006 Audi a4 b7 with a dipped headlight error. He has adaptive headlights. We can see the driver side headlight do a start up test when car starts but not the right side(it does nothing). Also his headlights are very dim
Hello, do you have a pinout for the AFS headlight ballasts? I have a problem that my xenons flicker and wanted to bypass the ballast. Already disabled the dash warning, cornering light and up/down adjustment is still working fine. Only thing I need to know now is where I can get a signal if the xenon lamps are on.
Also, I understand that you can’t swap ballasts between adaptive and non adaptive headlights, but can you replace the entire adaptive headlamp assembly with a non adaptive assembly?
Yes you can't swap ballasts from non-afs to afs headlights, they are different physically. Yes you can put non-adaptive ones but you might need adapter cables and resistors in order not to have an error at your dashboard.
@@sergiuracolta just check independent autoparts companies and ask them to order from their network/dealerships. If I am not mistaken you have to purchase the whole set of 3 tabs.
I have problem with my headlights, usually the work as they should. But sometimes when i turn on the car right headlight flickers and sometimes turns of completly for a second or two, very rarely both of headlights turns of too. This happens mostly when i turn on the engine, acceleration and hit curves. Ive read that it could be ballast, bad battery or just dying xenon bulbs. Anyone who had similar issue and figured it out?

Yes you can, but you will need at least adapter cables. It is NOT a direct swap. You have to be ready for additional work and a bit headache.

@@xenonlandcan i swap a ballast afs to a none? I change the headlight
Hi! I have a question. The top fixing mount of the headlight is broken. Can I change it?
Yes, tab repair sets are sold for this purpose
@@xenonland They are pretty hard to find. I found somewhere but they are sold out ...
