Can you just swap a known good bulb into a non-functional unit to determine if it's the bulb or ballast that's failed? If the bulb has failed can you see that w/ the bulb in your hand?

Appreciate your detailing this process. It's crazy how there's a tutorial on YT for almost anything. I have oem valeo xenons in my 2004 A4 Quattro and the passenger side died shortly before I stopped driving the car a few years ago (whole 'nother story). It would be satisfying to bring that unit back to life (if/when I can get the car itself running again). Wish I'd taken better care of my Audi 😞

Thank you for the video. I replaced both Xenon lights on my 05 E320 Wagon in place. It was tight and had to remove pressure tank on drivers (right hand side). Simple enough. I tried bulbs first. One worked fine. The second one i ordered a new aftermarket ignitor and still did not work. Ended up having to pay someone to remove bumper and replace ballast. Had the other ballast replaced at the same time for preventive mtce. Cheers, GC

I have a dipped beam fault when I turn the ignition I hear a sound from the headlight I just installed it today after running two hours and now the low beam is not working

I have problem with my headlights, usually the work as they should. But sometimes when i turn on the car right headlight flickers and sometimes turns of completly for a second or two, very rarely both of headlights turns of too. This happens mostly when i turn on the engine, acceleration and hit curves. Ive read that it could be ballast, bad battery or just dying xenon bulbs. Anyone who had similar issue and figured it out?

Thanks for a great video! I get the ASF inoperative error in my 2006 Passat. When checking I see that the error code is 02629 Left swivel module position sensor. However when I start the lights the left one does the up down side to side etc and the right one seems stuck (It goes a bit up and down. So the error code is on the working one. Do I need to change both? Or maybe only the motor in the right one...?

The Very very best video on headlight on W211👍 I'm new to W211 and have a few questions to the expert. Headlight in this video is adaptive bixenon and have halogen H7 high beams and xenon D2S dipped beams or low beams. Non adaptive bixenon headlight versions have same bulbs?. And the 3rd version have halogen lights on both high and low beams? There are only these 3 versions original headlights? Regarding low beam dipped beam nr1 check bulb xenon light ds2 nr2 check igniter nr3 check ballast. But if all these works fine and low beam are still poor or short in length can't the levelling automatic motor and the vertical adjustment motor affect the dipped beam? How to check these parts? And also on my w211 there are 2 levelling xenon sensors mounted on car. One on left side of rear axle and the other on right side front wheel chassis and connected to top of the upper spring plate. If one or both of these are broken or malfunction this can also affect the dipped beam or result beam are short inn length or? I thought that these sensors also could affects how the light adjusts automatically regarding weight inside car and on towing weight so the light don't blinds oncoming traffic. Do you know if these automatic adjustment only take place on the low beam dipped beam? Can't see any levelling motors on high beam h7 halogen light? And I noticed that there are 3 plastic hexagonnuts on the upper side of mine headlight and yours too are these nuts for manually adjustment of lights? Hello, I see that the part of the headlight that is supossed to be screwed to the chasis is broken, just like mine, is it dangerous for the headlight to be screwed on every other except that one, cuz when i open the hood, it wiggle a bit.

One is 00907 intervention load manager 000--- and second is 02088 lights for auxiliary high beams 014 defective. The second is even on the dash. What to do? I started my Mercedes W204 2014 facelift and I’ve got a few error messages: * Intelligent lighting inoperative * Left Dipped beam bulb not working Left indicator not working (it does work though) I checked the bulb and it had blown. So I replaced it, and the error messages are still there and the replacement bulb still doesn’t work. There is a led rectangular light in the bottom left, and this still works though. Any ideas, or shall I just run a diagnostic? Thank you.

Hello, do you have a pinout for the AFS headlight ballasts? I have a problem that my xenons flicker and wanted to bypass the ballast. Already disabled the dash warning, cornering light and up/down adjustment is still working fine. Only thing I need to know now is where I can get a signal if the xenon lamps are on.

Hi great video. I have bought a spare set of headlights from a 07 passat. These have gen 1 afs. I would like to upgrade the projectors and then swap the headlights into my 2009 r36 passat. Is this possible because because 2007 Passat has gen1 AFS, where 2009 passat has GEN2 AFS. do you know the differencec between gen1 and gen2 afs?
