I know i'm an outlier from most players but I love the """inane""" granularity of this. I love the crunchy date listing, I love the conjecture into where these monsters came from (the "va-na-dii-el???" and "ass-et re-use???" got me, a+ joke), i love noting the architecture, this shit is my JAM. and i love these longer videos; not to say your shorter vids aren't high quality, they are! these videos just mean an extremely high dose of that high quality, and i love really digging into a topic. looking forward to the next two SS videos. (Also, *nice* choice use of Twin Faces of Fate)
I didn't take Geryon's title "the Steer" as meaning a guide or anything, but more in terms of cattle (specifically, a castrated male bovine). Going by some of the epithets in our own history (Ivar the Boneless, Wilfred the Hairy, William the Bastard, etc.), it's entirely possible IMO that he's a talented warrior or leader of his people with his epithet referring to castration or male impotence of some kind.
This does make me wonder, how did Nanamo's parents get through this so often safely. Even with trusted fighters like Papashawn. I got thinking while watching..... We know some of Sil'dih's upper class and maybe even monarchy survived and eventually joined the common people, passing down tales of Sil'dih over generations. Was Nanamo's mother a descendant of the Sil'dih thrown? Would explain how she could find the Gardens even with the Sultans help. And her ability to create Silkie. Would also be a reason they were killed beyond having similar goals to Nanamo. If true, that would make Nanamo the true heir to Belah'dia. And add a very lovely parallel between us and her. Two people suddenly thrust legacies we never asked for but must act upon and follow regardless....
I really enjoyed the video and the run down of the possible lore! Though one minor thing is it is pronounced mal-uh-kite for the gemstone malachite. Though how English uses ch can vary, it is understandable.
The ammonites also appear in copperbell mines so I figure these are actually literal living fossils that come back to life in underground excavation sites.
I LOVE MOSSLINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE ROUND FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THE HAMSTER FRIEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Criterion Dungeons are my favourite content in Final Fantasy 14!!!!!
Considering dialogue in the unlock quest stating this entire section of ruins was discovered behind a wall that collapsed during the escape in 2.55, it's safe to say it was not accessible to anyone else, except the royal family for some reason, for a very long time, presumably since the end of the traders spurn. Also it's pronounced malakite, and foci is plural, the singular form is focus.
While it's true that Eorzea's past is captivating, I would love to see ancient relics from other continents, like Othard and Ilsabard. While we'll get something in 6.3 when we go to old garlean reaper village (which got me really excited), I want to know more about Othard since we haven't got much deep lore about it despite being there for so long
I looooove videos like this!! It's all so interesting to me, being able to explore a world when you really can't afford to explore the real world that you live on lol. Kinda inspires me to make my own, but I'm not sure I could ever create anything as well stringed together as your content, ha :')
Cool video :) made me wanna go back to ASS :P I would like to see some Gelmorran Ruins and have a possibility to fight Toto-Rak, need to know how it looks like xD Also something more Nymian would be cool. We do not have enough Tonberries in FF XIV But for real - I would like to go to .... Minion's Factory! There must be something like this, right? Right? :D

"Vana'diel"
*Taru giggle*
Absolutely amazing, even if it's cut down from the original, it's still great. Can't wait for more.

I loved this. The quality of your vids are top notch!
Truly thank you for your kind words, really was a boost to the day
Great video! Love the work and effort put into it and really easy to follow along. Looking forward to more lore!
21:15 that's some interesting taxonomy there XD
This was so interesting! I finished the paths but didn't catch everything. Can't wait for the other path videos!

After zealous playtime with Tactics Ogre Reborn, a Pirate Graveyard in Limsa would be nuts.
And Gridania would have to be Gelmorra, no?
Leshy... three enemies who are pretty good cardgame players? AM i smelling an inscryption reference here?
Correct!
Are we actually getting part 2
Those plants looked like pokeweed which is an extremely toxic plant irl
