Agree with the buying/selling tips you have, especially about wishing sellers were more communicative to questions. I will say that there has been times on Facebook Buy/Sell groups where I’ve commented when someone is selling something 3x’s or greater the value of something. Especially if they don’t appear to be in the hobby and are selling a collection.
The hole was from the original post war 3444 cars. They had a switch where you could turn the action on and off. Take a look at the 3444 animated gondola post war car. You can see the switch lever there. Some of the later operating cars had used an O-ring type drive to drive the animation, such as the 3540 Radar Flat car.
