Apparently the prices I got when opening the commuterline app (and therefore the price list in the video) for the airport train is not permanent as currently KAI is giving out discounts to celebrate it's 16th birthday so once that's over, prices will be way higher.
appreciate the effort to put Indonesian subtitle, but wouldn't it be better if it's put into Closed Captions instead of hardcoded in the video? kinda confusing seeing 2 subtitles in one space.
Its time for the tangerang line to get the love it deserves by fixing schedules and renovating stations as well as access to said stations.. it would be great if the line was extended further west
As a tangerang krl user, i do agree with shindo ride. I really hate the 30 min gap especially in duri, if the train just goes without waiting, you're there for another 30 minutes
@@AprezaRenaldy i think KAI have to build "jalur dwiganda" Like in jatinegara to bekasi, just for airport train from duri to soekarno hatta, so the airport train and commuter line frequency can better than now
there is no need to do #2, a good timetable adherence can solve potential conflicts by designating overtake spots. if you can fit 4 trains per hour on the physical track itself, that's still mostly 15 minute headway, with one single 30 minute interval every hour. Also for #3 could totally just build a connection from Tangerang to Serpong, but of course the developers there wouldn't want a noisy old rickety train to pass their "elite" neighborhood right? (even tho i would pay more for a house within walking distance to a station)
@@kevinINA2000maybe even extend that to angke, to split the northbound and southbound commuter transit. Same with tanah abang, except rather than all the way to duri, maybe make a new transit station under tomang flyover which also integrates with the bus stop there
Appreciate the new bilingual captions. Agree that CC ing it is better but it's well designed so I don't really mind it. Love the dry deadpan humour as usual, S tier vid!
The missing bus stop on Rawa Buaya station also confuses me where should I wait to get to JAK50, but luckily I see a person that get off from the JAK50, so I know where it is. I love how all of your video explain details about the public transportation, I dont know how do you learn it, and there are so many information that I just got learn from you, thank you, keep it up bro!!!
I remember that one time when I have my field practice place on Grogol (Yes the RSJ) and I have to wait 30 minutes just to go into just 1 station after Duri. Not to mention that Duri is too small for a transit terminus station. Hence I'd rather take the TJ going home
Funfact: many people use airport train for work from batuceper or rawabuaya to bni city, my parents use airport train to for work from rawabuaya to batuceper, anyway, the price from batu ceper to bni city is Rp.35,000 for normal price (so in 6:59 it's "promo" Price for KAI COMMUTER birthday, for nrmal price from bni city to airport is Rp.70,000 and from batuceper to airport is Rp.35,000) , yes is very very more expensive than regular commuter line (only Rp. 6,000), but in rush hour is very very worth it, because if you transit in duri everyday on rush hour, i think you gonna be crazy 😅, and in rush hour, amolts airport train passager (i think until 70℅ or more) only go to rawabuaya or batuceper, so the train will be empty after batuceper😅
Alright, as a regular user of Tangerang Line due to my working place being nearby, so I could say that I have a lot to say about this line's sins I think the Basoetta Line may have a parasitic relation of Tangerang Line in term of how they stole the wasted schedule Tangerang Line potentially had Duri Station is perhaps the most isolated transit station in this entire KRL network in terms of integration due to being surrounded by massively dense populated residences that got caught in fire every once a month. And the fact that only ONE platform that serves the Tangerang Line with the addition of non-functional elevator ever since Duri Stations is completely renovated makes it straight up criminal, not to mention the T-shaped path that connects platform 5 with the a pair of escalators placed there!!! This is the opposite to Tangerang Station that have five usable lines, YET only ONE line is being used for the train, what are the purpose of other lines??? Just for train depot???? I onced talked to my friend about what do they think of Tangerang Line, and their thought is that it's not even a fully functioning line, just a mere feeder line connecting Tangerang to downtown Jakarta. Like seriously tho, which line deserves a more frequent schedule, a hicktown in the middle of nowhere (no offense to Tigaraksa, Parung Panjang, and Lebak residents), or one of the Jakarta's satellite city and urban sprawl???????? I would say the one way Tangerang Line could absolve itself from it's sins is by making a Double Double Track from Duri to Batu Ceper, with KAI would have to clash with hundreds of thousands with nimbys in the process Or, if KAI wanted to clashes with less nimbys, ressurect the lost line connecting Grogol to Tanah Abang, and build a brand new station in Tomang, connecting Tangerang all the way to Manggarai by stopping at line 5 and 6 currently unused due to Cikarang Line switchover, making it effectively a feeder from folks from Tanah Abang to Sudirman. That's all I could say, thanks a lot for this video.
@@shindoride Yep indeed, and it could fill the disturbing gap between Tanah Abang and Duri, as my latter proposal also means ending Duri status as a transit station (if you exclude Basoetta Line). Because let's be clear, Duri Station is unsustainable for a long run.
Thanks for finally doing a video on the madness that is the Tangerang Line! Quick tip from me, a local user: Getting off at Rawa Buaya, there is another JAK50 stop if you take the smaller exit, walk down the narrow road, and out of the gate (gapura). This stop is closer to the JAK80 terminus at Rawa Buaya and avoids the congestion that is the three-way intersection over at the other stop. Another note: the thing about the 3H is that it doesn't actually serve Pesing Station, but turns around under the flyover. In fact, it doesn't serve Damai bus stop either.
As others mentioned, the first thing to do is to eliminate every street-level crossing. It's a slow and complicated operation, but it's a key to reducing general congestion. The best way to do it would be to move spirally from the outskirts to the center, closing a few streets at a time and diverting the traffic to major roads, and building under/overpasses. In addition, a second rail with switches and dedicated platforms for the airport line would allow a more frequent running of both lines without interfering with each other.
Yeah i'm pretty surprised as well when using this line. I once helped a friend departing overseas and returning back from Soetta at around 9PM, i was going to stay at Grogol for the night and was kinda surprised that the ticket from Soetta to Rawabuaya is no longer available on the last Basoetta Train for the day yet THE TRAIN IS SO EMPTY AND IT STOPPED AT RAWABUAYA in which eventually made me bought a ticket to Duri (should've just bought to Batuceper instead) and literally waited a long time for transfering back to the Commuterline to Grogol
Won't lie- first time I went to Pesing station, I immediately did a smell check. Also, idk what it says about the station, but when I stayed in Kebon Jeruk/behind Binus, GoTransit directed me to stop at Pesing and take the last-mile GoJek ride from there instead of Palmerah which is a lot closer. Well, okay, maybe that says more about Palmerah/Binus area which is congested as hell, but it is interesting that they'd recommend Pesing over Tanah Abang. Edit: almost forgot- 5:42 as a casual Girls und Panzer enjoyer, that When Johnny Comes Marching Home bgm caught me off guard but I do enjoy it. Marching Songs are weirdly fun to listen to.
Like a transit train station tier list video (Ex: Duri, Manggarai) or just a general transit area tier list? (Ex: Monas, no train station but meeting point of multiple BRT lines)
Cikarang Line, Tanjung Priok Line, Nambo Branch line. The 1st one only has the 30 minute problem in some parts, while the other 2 are really short lines.
Since I used to live in Tangerang, I can say that this line is worse than Rangkasbitung, which I can't fathom. A straight line, close to the population center. But somehow worse than Rangkasbitung dawg.

1.Disappearing level crossings
2.Make 3 rails so there is no conflict with the airport rails.
3. Extend the line to serang
