Thanks for the great advice! I'm with you, losing the weight isn't the issue, but keeping it off is HARD. I lost 83 pounds in 2018 but gained it all back. I like how you say, "keep it simple". Meat, veg, butter. I'm restarting again but I'm determined to make it my lifestyle choice.

I keep watching you because you are beautiful people. I started keto in March '20. Found you soon after. You were so real and so supportive and fun. Very encouraging! I dropped 50 pounds over 2 years. Also dropped my A1C by a whole point. Went from pre-diabetic to the low end of normal. I've been maintaining ever since. Thank you for what you do!

Important point: You will be on maintenance a lot longer than you will be losing weight. That made me realize why we all enjoy your test kitchen KETO adventures so much. Maintenance is harder to "endure" if there is no variety after the weight loss success. That is what your videos address.... keeping maintenance interesting. I hope I summed it up correctly. Thanks for all you do! Happy New Year!

I fluctuate between 5-10 lbs. and I’m very ok with that. I’ve lost a total of 100 lbs in a year and your “technically keto” works best for me now.

Outstanding content! You’ve helped me stay on track for almost 2 yrs now.
    I’m down 97 lbs.
It’s truly a lifestyle rather than a diet.
Like you, my body requires less food/calories than when I was 242lbs.
So at this point, it’s about our mindset rather than focusing on losing weight.
The fact that we know we have to eat like this from now on is very empowering.
I’m learning a workable maintenance phase. It’s a different journey now so I will watch for more of your content on maintenance.
    Thanks ladies! 💕👏👍

45 lbs this year without hardly thinking about it. Obsessing about food-diet is an addiction. Keto lifestyle, keeping it simple, cures the addiction.

I believe that the way you do it by being relaxed about it and not obsessing about weight is the best way to keep it off. I will have to get one of your tee shirts. 😊. I lost 30 pounds quickly at the beginning of my journey. But then it became a struggle to lose the last 10. Now I focus on my health and how I feel. So like you I’m clean keto sometimes and dirty keto other times. I don’t feel deprived at all which makes it a sustainable lifestyle for me. Love your recipes also and your reviews of them. You are getting closer to your 175k subscriber goal. 😁. Great advice!

Very informative video and helpful! Thank you Ladies! I have been counting calories lower carb. I have lost 33 pounds, but I haven't lost any more weight for a few months now. I am 68. I think I will try keeping it simple. Right now I weigh 214, just losing the weight I have I feel so much better than I did. I just want to feel better and to be able to move around better. I really enjoyed this video and all the other ones. You both are very inspiring ! ❤️

I have lost 140 pounds on keto. For me weighing myself daily has been my success at keeping my weight off. By weighing daily I can see if the scale is going up five pounds and I can put a stop to the regain and get that weight back off. Your subscribers should give it a try and keep the weight written down on a calendar.

Wise words, as always, ladies! The one thing I would add is, the older you are, the longer the weight loss portion of the journey takes (for me it was about a year and a half, I started in January 2020, at age 59)… but the principle remains the same, the weight loss part is the “short” part, maintenance is for the rest of your life… but maybe it’s actually a benefit if the weight loss part takes longer, because the longer it takes, the more likely you are to have gone through the mental shift needed to come to grips with the need to watch the carbs forever! Anyways, Happy Boxing Day today, and I look forward to more fun content in 2024!

OMG I really needed this today. I'm 22 months on keto, or as I think it, low net carb. It's xmas, so it is so hard not to eat the high carb xmas food, especially when a friend makes the best xmas cake and rocky road for you as a gift. A friend who knows I don't eat that anymore..... So, I had a little and today I've gone back to simple and gave most of the "gift" to others who are not keto. Thanks, perfect timing, before the scales blow out.

I absolutely love to bake. I do make keto friendly foods but I also make the super delicious high carb desserts. My trick is to have a “tiny” bit and then I take the rest to work. They don’t mind, 😂 (much). Setting healthy boundaries is important.

I started keto years ago for the same reason to loose weight. I stayed on it for a good 3 years. I felt great and looked great but then I started throwing carbs back in the mix and eventually just started eating trash again. Now I'm pregnant and I have gestational diabetes and I have something so much more important to do this for then how I look. I dont even want to think about sugar right now I just want to be healthy and I want my baby healthy and that is my motivation now.

This was just what I needed to hear today. I've wondered how you have kept off your weight making these recipes. I've maintained my weight loss since 2019. It is a challenge. I don't stray much from the simple as for me it triggers me to overeat. Hearing from you both how I feel about food really helped! Thanks for the video!!!!

  • @tinamoni6792

Bravo! Key word... BALANCE! That way a person doesn't over or under eat or become to restrictive and deprive themselves of "desert" so to speak. Real Life isn't restrictive it's a give and take of having fun vs being serious and has to be BALANCED! 👍🏽👍🏽

  • @ChrisS-vt8bw
    @ChrisS-vt8bw 10 місяців тому +1

I started Keto back in February of this year. I haven't really found it restrictive, I kind of find it liberating. I had researched Keto and intermittent fasting (which I thought I couldn't do) and then I decided to quit carbs cold turkey. I don't obsess over my macros and test my sugar. I just figure out what I will eat, try to make sure it's clean, and keep my eating window small. I lost about 40 pounds and still counting. I do miss certain things on Keto, but thanks to your videos I know about more options. The Keto community is innovative and it's great that everyone is sharing these recipes. If I do want something I used to eat before, I know there's a way to make it Keto. The only downside I've seen about Keto is when I tell people I'm now low carb and the first reaction is: I couldn't live without carbs.

I watch your channel because I enjoy your banter and new recipes for low carb eating. I only needed to lose 15 pounds and did so on keto without much pain. After 3 years, I’m so used to it it’s just habit. I can have one bite of bread, pasta, or dessert and be satisfied. I lost 5 bonus pounds when I started jogging in the morning. I’m more fit and thin than I was pre children, and I feel more energetic at 61 than I did in my 40’s thanks to keto! Keep up the great work and I really appreciate your content 🤗

I find it less stressful to shop and eat clean and simply… minimal seasonings and substitutes, short list of grocery items. The creative stuff look like eye candy but I can only do it occasionally 😊 At the end… simple ends up nourishing, satiating. Very very true… balance… and know what it takes to stay on track. Research says we put on average 1-2 lbs a year as we age. So it takes work to keep it in check.

Great video! My Roman Empire is my health! Began keto 1/1/2023, down -60, and your channel helped. It helped open my eyes to other ways to eat certain foods. The My Carb Manager app helped me with calorie control also. The older we are, 65+ we need less calories and our bodies don’t burn fat as efficiently. Clean Keto helped get me started. The macros helped me, because was NOT eating enough fat! It was a huge learning curve to relearn how to eat in order to get into Ketosis. As I approach my goal, I am eating “more dirty food” and have added in some different carbs. But I do use the app, the macros and weigh weekly. Thank you for this!

Great points, ladies! I have been (mostly) keto for over 6 years now. I agree, you have to keep the food interesting to stick with the program. I lost over 50 pounds over 5 years ago and I keep it off by varying my menu and small amounts of keto treats from time to time. By the way, this has been, by far, the easiest lifestyle to maintain....I am 67 years old and was on the "diet yo-yo" for many years. You two are so much fun to watch. Folks, they know what works so listen up!

lost 30 pounds before covid then gained about 2/3 back, started again in June, lost some (don't know how much but clothes are looser) My first goal was to get A1c, cholesterol and triglicerides into normal range. after just a couple months that was accomplished, went from 6.9 to 6.5 A1c prediabetic to high end of normal. That was encouragement enough to keep going. you are correct when you say that to lose and as a normal lifestyle , keep it simple. Everyone has thair favorite set meals i am sure. I have a couple standards I use. Change it up very rarely but that works for me. I miss fruit but I eat raspberries/strawberries ..keep up the contect, your honest reviews and honest discussion around the psychology of this lifestyle really helps!

This video - to me - is the video for me. It would be great - because you are honest about what your journey has been - to have a weekly support group. That is for a lack of better terminology....but an open group that can talk about their journey and the two of you provide guidance. This is a lifestyle for me and I am still on my weight loss journey. However, I KNOW that eating simply is the best results - you are right. Stress is a contributor or inhibitor to weight loss, but eating simply is straight up correct and when I always see the most success. Thank you for this deeply honest video ladies!

I don't call mine a dirty keto diet. I call it a lifestyle. I have kept 40 pounds off for two and a half years. I don't feel denied either. I do fasting as well. I try to avoid sugar at all costs. When I've had too much I feel sick. I have hated the smell of donuts for the last three years. Haven't had one for about that long too. I don't crave them or sugar.

How do you ladies balance your low carb/keto lifestyle? Do you eat carbs in small portions? Do you exercise?

I am not at goal yet but on occasion I eat ur way..special occasions..I have lost 70lbs but stuck now for 1 yr..I think I need to go back to basics

@loribrick519 I am in the same boat. I lost 40 lbs and am in my healthy weight range, but would love to lose 10 more lbs to just feel a little better. Even though I am still eating under 20 net carbs a day, the weight has stalled. Back to basics should help with this hopefully.

I want to eat healthy. That’s it. Low carb, low sugar. I am thin and don’t want to lose weight. My problem is trying to eat low carb and NOT lose weight.

That is what I’ve been doing. Can’t have this or that. People try to get me to partake in desserts/etc. Then I know one bite this time two bites next time and three and so on so I’m better off just not eating it.

Would you consider doing a new what you eat and drink in a day? And, the cost? Steak and chicken is great, but also pricey. Also, what do you do when you’re craving something fattening?
