I have a question about the listing because I’ve been wanting to get some of these, when you pay the 28 dollars for the stickers do they send a sticker for every cartridge or is it 28 dollars each, because if it’s for every cartridge that’s a great deal!
San Francisco Rush was my jam back in the day, I remember throwing a cd into my kenwood portable cd player and just racing for hours on end in my bedroom.
Me and my friends too! We always did a circuit with one explosion deaths on. And then take turns when either winning or blowing up. This game had the most awesome physics
Wave Race 64 is still to this day one of my all time favorite racing games period. Nostalgia plays a big part but I have yet to find anything else that matches it's style, challenge and fun factor. Happy to see it on the list!
Hydro Thunder and Wave Race are still to this day my go to racing games on N64, so much fun! The water in the menus blew me away back in the day! Sadly the Wave Rave Sequel never came close to the original, just never felt quite the same to me..
Yep, should have been above some others on the list, but these are personal opinions so you can't really criticize them so much. Still I spent many hours playing this game with my bro.
They ruined driving games with this gen, as most are sims and I dislike sims. You can play these arcade or partly arcade driving games on new gen though: Sonic racers, On Rush, Beach Buggy, Riptide GP2, Baja, Burnout, Moto Racer 4, Gravel, Daytona USA & Hydro Thunder all on the Xbox One.
I miss them as well, if you want good racing games in current generations of console games, look at indie games. That's where all the good racing games are. Horizon Chase Turbo is a great one.
@Darth Wheezius GX too was just stunning. It probably is the better game, compared to X at least, but we just spent far too many hours on X and not nearly enough time on GX. Guess it's time to bust out the Gamecube again!
its actually not that small. There are 150+ good games, and to beat or to master them all, you 'll need about 2-3 years of your life - its about half of ps4 lifetime
Runplays in HD while not as small as the Saturns it was small compared to its competitor the PlayStation had like 1.3k games to play and even with the short life span of the Dreamcast it still managed to get 600+ games

Runplays in HD Exactly, most people only really think of their marios, zeldas, smash, fps games, yet no one ever sees other games like mischief makers, chameleon twist, harvest moon or the Goemon games.
Racing games were amazing for the n64 because they only needed one stick and it was nice to have shoulder triggers. The extra 3d power was important for making the tracks both diverse and large enough to pair enough other racers on the track without getting too crowded.
No mention of Destruction Derby 64 :( also random fact Beetle Adventure Racing got a complete reskin in Australia called HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) Aventure Racing.
There's an official reskin of Beetle Adventure Racing also for the N64 released exclusively in Australia titled HSV Adventure Racing which simply swapped out the Volkswagen Beetles with Holden Special Vehicles / GM sports cars. A sequel for Beetle was also in development but ultimately cancelled.
The N64 is my favorite Nintendo console and I still regularly play it. It has some of my favorite racing games such as Diddy Kong Racing and F-Zero X. The only game you showed in your video I have not played is Stunt Racer. Other racing games on the N64 you did not mention are Micro Machines 64 Turbo and Cruis'n Exotica.
F-Zero X is still my favourite F-Zero game! The series has a great soundtrack but the X-interpretations are the best! Cruisn USA I am really nostalgic for.
Man, racing games on 64 is what actually sold me back then. Cruis'n USA and Waverace were the two. Like you said, especially Waverace. I would play Bush Sixteen Stone and go through whole circuits. It felt like the music went with it. So classic!
Honourable additions: 1080 Snowboarding. Still the ‘WaveRace’ of snowboarding games.ExciteBike64. The same but with bikes. Ridge Racer64. NST developed and smooth, clear, superb game.
+SkyHighGam3r The EU-PAL Version does have Beetles aswell. HSV was exclusive to australia.. kinda expensive because of it. Much like snowboard kids 2 which only had PAL release in australia but was never released in europe.
Not many people talk about it, but Penny Racers was always a favorite with me, and my friends back in the day, and my 2 nephews still ask to play it from time to time when they come over.
SkyHighGam3r I’ve played both, but I’ve preferred the n64 version because of the ability to jump off cars and the battle mechanics were better. But I like jailbreak for the graphics :)

I was gonna mention how Extreme-G wasn't on the list 'til I saw it on the honorable mentions. The N64 was indeed a great console for racing titles. I'd add Vigilante 8 to the list, although it isn't much of a "racing" game per se. Great list, mate! keep up the good work.
@@MetalJesusRocks If you mention Pod Racing in the future, it's worth mentioning the PS2 game is a sequel, and not an enhanced version. A lot of people don't know that so they never bother playing it. That misconception hits way too many games (Castlevania - Legacy of Darkness, for example) In fact, I think a whole video about dispelling that for a handful of games would be amazing.
N64 was an amazing system. I still own my. Glad I could play almost this entire list. Thanks for this man, brought some really nice family and friends memory.

I have a retro arch with all the games I own licenses to. I loved being able to dig through my carts, custom labels and some in blockbuster cases. Some even have the nostalgic "property of" blue tamper proof stickers! Alas.. my physical media has all been packed away for safe keeping. I wish I had a collection like yours, but through the years it was hard to hang on to anything.. especially in the days of wheeling and dealing stuff like Pokemon cards for high value items. A Charizard for 007 GoldenEye seemed like a great idea at the time. Lol. Thanks for sharing this and all your other nostalgic throwbacks with us. Stay well, my friend.
San Francisco Rush 2049, good honorable mention. I hope you review it a bit more in the next video. That game is loaded with shortcuts, collectibles, battle/stunt modes, ghost racing, and tons of unlockable parts/cars/tracks.
probably because Wipeout was a staple for the PS1 and thus people don't tend to associate it with Nintendo even though Wipeout64 was definitely amazing
Alot of great games mentioned here. Some I will definitely have to check out. Two games I always found myself playing were Destruction Derby and Penny Racers
Good list. Mickeys Speedway is an underrated game. The graphics are well put together and don't loko as clashy as most early 3D games do. Have you ever driven a real RC car?
The most popular 64 game, in my friend group, is Micro Machines 64. It's single screen and top down, and it's incredibly fast and you die when you fall too far behind on the screen, or leave the track for too long. When there's only one car remaining, everybody either loses or gains points and then they respawn. The bite-size rounds remind me of games like Towerfall.
Cruisin USA was one of my favorite games for the 64, it was also one of the first games i owned for it, played it to absolute death with my brothers, unlocked everything. Such a great game. Another amazing video, ty for all the content you put out and everything you do.
Loved the Extreme G titles on N64, and Wipeout 64 was pretty solid, too (really great soundtrack on that one). My best friend and I played the hell out of Episode 1 Racer on the N64, such a fun game. Ridge Racer 64 was my racing game of choice on the system, though, by far. Huge number of cars, fantastic tracks, and great visuals and audio. It was basically a port of Rage Racer on the PS1, but with a lot more polish and flare to the tracks and cars.
I have a bit of a personal relationship with F-Zero X and Extreme G. Those games actually helped me conquer a childhood fear of roller coasters with inversions. Now, thanks to playing those games, I can ride anything.

i gotta say cruisin usa is my favorite racer period..im pretty sure its nostalgia controlling that but...i remember getting all the upgraded diffrent color cars...then learning you could get diffrent vehicles (cop cars...a bus and more) by holding a button combination in the menu..and then i just played the game even more
"they were all about fun" What a novel concept these days, especially with racing games. I got Need for Speed PS4 in a bulk sale (a sale that scored me Mario Galaxy New in Box no less) and I tried to play it and I spent an hour driving from one place to another just to watch 10 minute cut scenes every time. I gave up on it.
Yeah, it's kinda sad that I consider World Driver Championship as one of the best and most fun semi-realistic racing games I ever played despite playing it for the first time last year. These days it really feels like it's either a Sim (which I do like), a Arcade / Retro tribute like Horizon Chase and Forza Horizon being left as the only real option for "Have some stupid fun with cars"
@@Soonjai I REALLY want someone to make a Motorstorm game with modern graphics and physics. Apocalypse was a such a fun and spectacular game. Tracks with giant set pieces that crumble and explode around you as you race through the chaos? Shut up and take my money!
It was sure a fun gamble move back then. It would either put you way ahead or way behind. 😄 I was more of player that caused havoc. Who else diarrhea'd bananas on the Zip pad that jumped the gap in Wario Stadium to pretty much screw the NPCs or sometimes other players? 🤣
Yeah, removing the ability to jump from high sections of rainbow road down to lower sections in the sequel games really took away from the charm of the franchise, I think. Ruining the Wario Stadium Jump was always the best, sucks that no entries since then had an equivalent section
Star Wars Pod Racer was my absolute favorite. I've never been a huge fan of the Star Wars franchise, but the music, the sense of speed and the levels just came together perfectly. I'm really excited for the re-release!

We only had about ten N64 games growing up but two of them were racing games, Lego Racer 64 and Rush 2. I spent so many hours playing both of those games. This video makes me see how many other games I was missing out on. Too bad I wasn't in charge when I was a kid.
It was so hard to convince my friends back in the day how amazing Beetle Adventure Racing was. "I know it's just the same car with different paint, but seriously guys, this game is amazing!" Part of the problem was also that other kids my age just weren't into straight up racing games. It was either stuff like Mario Kart or nothing. I thank my dad for getting me into racing games at such a young age. Nowadays I can spend just as many hours playing Forza Horizon as I could just about anything else.
Fun tip for Metal Jesus! If you let off the accelerator while going over boosts or using blue balloons in Diddy Kong Racing, you boost even faster (the flames will be green instead of purple)! This is really key for unlocking TT in the time trials section. Love the video!
Need some Micro Machines 64 Turbo in this list! Probably my most played racing game on N64 and I had the vast majority of the other racing games in this video. Micro Machines was a great update to the originals on NES and Genesis and Codemasters really nailed it with this one. This game actually had 8 player support where two people would share each controller. We need more Micro Machines love!

I can not wait to get another N64 console. I love silly arcade racing games. Looking forward to playing the Diddy Kong, Mario Kart, and Mickey Mouse racing games with my daughter. I'm introducing her to the older games and we slowly working our way to the newer and refined HD games we have today. Rush 2049 was by far the best racing game on n64. i still play it with my son. The stunt levels are amazing, and the regular racing is a lot of fun. i love being able to play the courses mirrored or backwards, because they feel like completely different stages, and finding the secret shortcuts is always a good time
Ridge Racer 64 is probably my favorite racer on the console! It's always overshadowed by its PS1 counterparts like Ridge Racer Type 4. But, it adds enough gameplay tweeks and vehicles to keep you coming back for more! I definitely wanna see you cover it next time!
Wave Race was a game that I would consistently throw into my system ever week. It is easily one of the best racing games ever created, I have Blue Storm as well on GameCube, but the first one is just incredible, it blew me away with the stunts and the free-styling you can do on your jet-ski, the different styles of the racers, and the maps how they change every lap just made the game sooo re-playable and fun as hell to play. One of the best games still to this day. I would love to see a new version of it on the Switch with online gameplay, would be an insane title.
Hey Metal Jesus, I really like your channel. From my point of view, one excellent racing game that I had on my N64 was produced and developed by Namco : Ridge Racer! A very good game with excellent graphics. I played futurist racing games as Extreme G (that I really liked), F-Zero and Wipeout.
Growing up I never owned Mario Kart for the N64 but I loved Cruise'n World. I played that game non stop and have a lot of good memories with my family. But as an adult I do think about collecting for N64 and picking up some games. It's awesome seeing videos like this one! Hopefully I can pick up some of these one day!
Cruise'n usa was fun..san fransisco rush was extremely a blast and starwars podracer was excellent and i pretty much played it every day for like two months and im really excited to hear its coming to the switch soon looking forward for it again! Thanks metal jesus great video

Boi Re-Volt is amazing! just the fact it gets updated and there are recent mods (cars, tracks etc) (for the PC mind you) keeps me coming back

Road Rash 64 is the most underrated racing game ever made
I played the PC version and it was the junk! Playstation has several installments of Road Rash.

I have a retro arch with all the games I own licenses to. I loved being able to dig through my carts, custom labels and some in blockbuster cases. Some even have the nostalgic "property of" blue tamper proof stickers! Alas.. my physical media has all been packed away for safe keeping. I wish I had a collection like yours, but through the years it was hard to hang on to anything.. especially in the days of wheeling and dealing stuff like Pokemon cards for high value items. A Charizard for 007 GoldenEye seemed like a great idea at the time. Lol.

These are some great games. I actually found Top Gear Rally to be my favorite N64 racer alongside F-Zero X. There's just so much nostalgia in both.
Same! Top gear rally is one of the few rally games I ever got into, and I played it a lot. Was a bit sad when he said it isn't that good.
Used to play a lot of Destruction Derby. Loved it!
Re-volt I rediscovered few days ago on the pc and the community is super alive! Love it!
Hot wheels turbo racing and LEGO racing :) both were fun! I liked the tricks you could do in hot wheels better than stunt racer

Hot Wheels was amazing, I still have a PS1 copy of that one. We used to play it a lot on the N64 back in the day.
Hot Wheels Turbo Racing is definitely the superior stunt racer on the system, IMO. Played so smoothly too.
San Francisco Rush 2049, good honorable mention. I hope you review it a bit more in the next video. That game is loaded with shortcuts, collectibles, battle/stunt modes, ghost racing, and tons of unlockable parts/cars/tracks.
for me one of my favourite racing games on the N64 was Wipeout64. Somehow I never see it mentioned anywhere in those lists...
probably because Wipeout was a staple for the PS1 and thus people don't tend to associate it with Nintendo even though Wipeout64 was definitely amazing
@@bojinglebells Wipeout 64 is not popular. Very cheap game. The ps1 version [and sequels] is way better. Mainly due to the music.
Alot of great games mentioned here. Some I will definitely have to check out. Two games I always found myself playing were Destruction Derby and Penny Racers

Diddy Kong Racing, Xtreme-G, Wave Race 64 and F-Zero X are always reasons to come back to my N64, but what I really love is Ridge Racer 64.
Good list. Mickeys Speedway is an underrated game. The graphics are well put together and don't loko as clashy as most early 3D games do.

The most popular 64 game, in my friend group, is Micro Machines 64. It's single screen and top down, and it's incredibly fast and you die when you fall too far behind on the screen, or leave the track for too long. When there's only one car remaining, everybody either loses or gains points and then they respawn. The bite-size rounds remind me of games like Towerfall.
Cruisn World is one of my faves.

Cruisin USA was one of my favorite games for the 64, it was also one of the first games i owned for it, played it to absolute death with my brothers, unlocked everything. Such a great game. Another amazing video, ty for all the content you put out and everything you do.

Loved the Extreme G titles on N64, and Wipeout 64 was pretty solid, too (really great soundtrack on that one). My best friend and I played the hell out of Episode 1 Racer on the N64, such a fun game. Ridge Racer 64 was my racing game of choice on the system, though, by far. Huge number of cars, fantastic tracks, and great visuals and audio. It was basically a port of Rage Racer on the PS1, but with a lot more polish and flare to the tracks and cars.

I have a bit of a personal relationship with F-Zero X and Extreme G. Those games actually helped me conquer a childhood fear of roller coasters with inversions. Now, thanks to playing those games, I can ride anything.

i gotta say cruisin usa is my favorite racer period..im pretty sure its nostalgia controlling that but...i remember getting all the upgraded diffrent color cars...then learning you could get diffrent vehicles (cop cars...a bus and more) by holding a button combination in the menu..and then i just played the game even more

What a novel concept these days, especially with racing games. I got Need for Speed PS4 in a bulk sale (a sale that scored me Mario Galaxy New in Box no less) and I tried to play it and I spent an hour driving from one place to another just to watch 10 minute cut scenes every time. I gave up on it.
Yeah, it's kinda sad that I consider World Driver Championship as one of the best and most fun semi-realistic racing games I ever played despite playing it for the first time last year. These days it really feels like it's either a Sim (which I do like), a Arcade / Retro tribute like Horizon Chase and Forza Horizon being left as the only real option for "Have some stupid fun with cars"
@@Soonjai I REALLY want someone to make a Motorstorm game with modern graphics and physics. Apocalypse was a such a fun and spectacular game. Tracks with giant set pieces that crumble and explode around you as you race through the chaos? Shut up and take my money!
Waverace 64 is the perfect example. I can launch that game anytime and have genuine *fun*
Even the original Xbox NFS games are better and still look good graphically.

Rush 2049 is extremely demanding, you need an i9 to emulate it at those speeds in MAME.

Yeah, removing the ability to jump from high sections of rainbow road down to lower sections in the sequel games really took away from the charm of the franchise, I think. Ruining the Wario Stadium Jump was always the best, sucks that no entries since then had an equivalent section

Star Wars Pod Racer was my absolute favorite. I've never been a huge fan of the Star Wars franchise, but the music, the sense of speed and the levels just came together perfectly. I'm really excited for the re-release!

We only had about ten N64 games growing up but two of them were racing games, Lego Racer 64 and Rush 2. I spent so many hours playing both of those games. This video makes me see how many other games I was missing out on. Too bad I wasn't in charge when I was a kid.
It was so hard to convince my friends back in the day how amazing Beetle Adventure Racing was. "I know it's just the same car with different paint, but seriously guys, this game is amazing!"
Part of the problem was also that other kids my age just weren't into straight up racing games. It was either stuff like Mario Kart or nothing. I thank my dad for getting me into racing games at such a young age. Nowadays I can spend just as many hours playing Forza Horizon as I could just about anything else.
Loved beetle adventure racing. Fully unlocked all easter eggs of that game.

Fun tip for Metal Jesus! If you let off the accelerator while going over boosts or using blue balloons in Diddy Kong Racing, you boost even faster (the flames will be green instead of purple)! This is really key for unlocking TT in the time trials section. Love the video!
Need some Micro Machines 64 Turbo in this list! Probably my most played racing game on N64 and I had the vast majority of the other racing games in this video. Micro Machines was a great update to the originals on NES and Genesis and Codemasters really nailed it with this one. This game actually had 8 player support where two people would share each controller. We need more Micro Machines love!
Hands down San Francisco RUSH and RUSH 2 were some of the best racing games on N64, me and my friend must have played hundreds of hours.

I can not wait to get another N64 console. I love silly arcade racing games. Looking forward to playing the Diddy Kong, Mario Kart, and Mickey Mouse racing games with my daughter. I'm introducing her to the older games and we slowly working our way to the newer and refined HD games we have today. Rush 2049 was by far the best racing game on n64. i still play it with my son. The stunt levels are amazing, and the regular racing is a lot of fun. i love being able to play the courses mirrored or backwards, because they feel like completely different stages, and finding the secret shortcuts is always a good time

Ridge Racer 64 is probably my favorite racer on the console!
It's always overshadowed by its PS1 counterparts like Ridge Racer Type 4.
But, it adds enough gameplay tweeks and vehicles to keep you coming back for more!

The N64 is still my favorite console for arcade racers. I just finished Off Road Challenge. A short but fun arcade racer.
Wave Race was a game that I would consistently throw into my system ever week. It is easily one of the best racing games ever created, I have Blue Storm as well on GameCube, but the first one is just incredible, it blew me away with the stunts and the free-styling you can do on your jet-ski, the different styles of the racers, and the maps how they change every lap just made the game sooo re-playable and fun as hell to play. One of the best games still to this day. I would love to see a new version of it on the Switch with online gameplay, would be an insane title.
I'm glad San Francisco Rush 2049 got a shout out near the end, I have so many memories with that game. Its probably my number one racer on the system.

I really like your channel. From my point of view, one excellent racing game that I had on my N64 was produced and developed by Namco : Ridge Racer! A very good game with excellent graphics.
I played futurist racing games as Extreme G (that I really liked), F-Zero and Wipeout.
Wave Race 64 and F-Zero X are masterpieces that are still worth playing today.
diddy kong racing is such a classic. the first time i ran over that frog with the rooster crest, and unlocked drumstick was awesome haha.
Growing up I never owned Mario Kart for the N64 but I loved Cruise'n World. I played that game non stop and have a lot of good memories with my family. But as an adult I do think about collecting for N64 and picking up some games. It's awesome seeing videos like this one! Hopefully I can pick up some of these one day!
Cruise'n usa was fun..san fransisco rush was extremely a blast and starwars podracer was excellent and i pretty much played it every day for like two months and im really excited to hear its coming to the switch soon looking forward for it again! Thanks metal jesus great video
