Hi im korean user and i watch a lot of your channel :)
When i was elementary school boy
I spend a lot of time for cruising usa at acade center
Wonderful game and kind little cheesy but its fun if you want play this you need handle controller!
Love it!
Hope you guys are cheer up
Corona will end up soon!!
Great alliance forever between two great nation go together!
And Thankyou for remind me a happy moment!! Of my childhood :)
Loved all these games. Def made me want to reconnect my N64 right now
I have a question about the listing because I’ve been wanting to get some of these, when you pay the 28 dollars for the stickers do they send a sticker for every cartridge or is it 28 dollars each, because if it’s for every cartridge that’s a great deal!
South Park Rally N64 is Dope as heck !
San Francisco Rush was my jam back in the day, I remember throwing a cd into my kenwood portable cd player and just racing for hours on end in my bedroom.
Me and my friends too! We always did a circuit with one explosion deaths on. And then take turns when either winning or blowing up. This game had the most awesome physics
I would spend hours in the free roam stunt track on rush 2 messing with cheat codes
Spent countless hours on rush. Awesome game.
My first N64 game so it remains a go to for me!
@@twelvelookslike Oh ya, Pappy land on steroids is what I call Rush 2.
Wave Race 64 is still to this day one of my all time favorite racing games period. Nostalgia plays a big part but I have yet to find anything else that matches it's style, challenge and fun factor. Happy to see it on the list!
Amazing game ! I still play it for long sessions 5 or 6 times a year and never get tired of it.
Yeah the water and fog effects created such a beautiful environment
Awesome physics for the time.
No problems with the graphics! Back when u actually used your imagination. There’s a charm to it all
Needs a remaster on the Switch and Blue Storm as well.
One game instantly comes to mind, a great overlooked racer: World Driver Championship
And WDC is very good to play. I love this game!
heck ya, I've been playing it for a couple weeks now on the original hardware.
I agree with your choices, especially BAR and WaveRace, but World Driver Championship was crazy great!
came here to post that! such an underrated racing game.
Never played that but i'll have to check it out when I pull me N64 out of storage and start hunting for games online.
Man, I miss all of these solid arcade style racers. Almost everything after the PS2 focused more on realism which imo isn't nearly as fun.
They ruined driving games with this gen, as most are sims and I dislike sims. You can play these arcade or partly arcade driving games on new gen though: Sonic racers, On Rush, Beach Buggy, Riptide GP2, Baja, Burnout, Moto Racer 4, Gravel, Daytona USA & Hydro Thunder all on the Xbox One.
Look up Horizon Chase Turbo
I miss them as well, if you want good racing games in current generations of console games, look at indie games. That's where all the good racing games are. Horizon Chase Turbo is a great one.
Agreed! Realism is so totally overrated in racing games, and gaming generally.
Ridge Racer for the original PSP was sweet
Extreme-G is one of my favorites on the N64.
I feel like Extreme-g was really underrated. One of my favorites on the 64
ikr, the nice heavy beats made it easy to get into the groove quickly in this fast paced racing gem.
Got this from the parents back in the day as a random Xmas present and ended up being one of my favorites on the system
Agree, excellent game
Yep, should have been above some others on the list, but these are personal opinions so you can't really criticize them so much. Still I spent many hours playing this game with my bro.
The N64 had a small,but a impressive library,and had soild racing games.
its actually not that small. There are 150+ good games, and to beat or to master them all, you 'll need about 2-3 years of your life - its about half of ps4 lifetime
Runplays in HD while not as small as the Saturns it was small compared to its competitor the PlayStation had like 1.3k games to play and even with the short life span of the Dreamcast it still managed to get 600+ games
@@plutosmash6068 but that doesnt matter how many games N64 has, you'll need at least 3 years to beat them all. So much time to beat a small bunch of games, hein? :)
I love the Nascar n64 games and of course Crusin' USA the game with the most optimistic game over ever! "GAME OVER YEAH!!!!!" XD
Runplays in HD
Exactly, most people only really think of their marios, zeldas, smash, fps games, yet no one ever sees other games like mischief makers, chameleon twist, harvest moon or the Goemon games.
Hydro Thunder and Wave Race are still to this day my go to racing games on N64, so much fun! The water in the menus blew me away back in the day! Sadly the Wave Rave Sequel never came close to the original, just never felt quite the same to me..
There's an official reskin of Beetle Adventure Racing also for the N64 released exclusively in Australia titled HSV Adventure Racing which simply swapped out the Volkswagen Beetles with Holden Special Vehicles / GM sports cars. A sequel for Beetle was also in development but ultimately cancelled.
Was wondering if anyone else had seen this version, I loved that game as a kid, got to race my favourite HSVs and Holden V8 Supercars!
F-Zero X, to this day, remains a timeless classic for us and perhaps our favourite racer ever made!
Thank you MJR, for another truly awesome video!
F-Zero X is the best!
@Darth Wheezius GX too was just stunning. It probably is the better game, compared to X at least, but we just spent far too many hours on X and not nearly enough time on GX. Guess it's time to bust out the Gamecube again!
@referral madness Thank you for the heads up, pal. We'll absolutely be sure to check that out!
X is better than GX, aside from graphics only. Fight me!
No question. Still one of the best racing games today. And that soundtrack! Hell yes!
No mention of Destruction Derby 64 :( also random fact Beetle Adventure Racing got a complete reskin in Australia called HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) Aventure Racing.
He's not going to name every single racing.
@@MrJZ27 He's not? :O
@@PANZERFAUST90 Haha
i know but it's just such a great game.
I love Destruction Derby 64!
Racing games were amazing for the n64 because they only needed one stick and it was nice to have shoulder triggers. The extra 3d power was important for making the tracks both diverse and large enough to pair enough other racers on the track without getting too crowded.
I'm surprised at how many of these genes I didn't even know about. Thanks for another great vid MJ 👍
Michael Jackson?
@@SoleilPhoenix Michael Jordan
F-Zero X is still my favourite F-Zero game! The series has a great soundtrack but the X-interpretations are the best!
Cruisn USA I am really nostalgic for.
Never heard of Stunt Racer 64....and now I know why. So many good racers on N64.
Yea I never heard of it either and it looks great!!
Bought an n64 for the first time ever last week as I never had one as a child and I loooooove it !!!
Me too 😭😭😭
Rush series was amazing. Too bad they werent on here. I played so much of rush series.
Me too
Honorable mention at the end. 😍
Description.
@@MetalJesusRocks
Rush 2 was better.
MetalJesusRocks deserves more attention 😜
Road Rash 64 is the most underrated racing game ever made
I played the PC version and it was the junk! Playstation has several installments of Road Rash.
shazmosushi agreed! It’s the best version of road rash! Totally out shined the PlayStation version in terms of game play
@@RodneyFisk Road Rash 64 wasn't on PC. PC had a port of the 3DO version of Road Rash though.
@@richardalldredge9129 Which one? PlayStation had a port of the 3DO game, it also had Road Rash 3D, and it had Road Rash Jailbreak.
SkyHighGam3r I’ve played both, but I’ve preferred the n64 version because of the ability to jump off cars and the battle mechanics were better. But I like jailbreak for the graphics :)
Diddy Kong Racing is my favorite racing game of all time, this game is just awesome !! If it will be release on the switch I will buy it again.
Yes
I have it on my original Xbox emulator along with the N64 library. Love it.
With all the cart racers they have they need too
Man, racing games on 64 is what actually sold me back then. Cruis'n USA and Waverace were the two. Like you said, especially Waverace. I would play Bush Sixteen Stone and go through whole circuits. It felt like the music went with it. So classic!
Thank you for keeping us entertained during these chaotic times MJR!!!
Boi Re-Volt is amazing! just the fact it gets updated and there are recent mods (cars, tracks etc) (for the PC mind you) keeps me coming back
Omg metal Jesus I’ve been a proud supporter of your channel for some years now! Bro I’m glad to see someone who loves these games as much as I do!!
God love you're reliability on the uploads , I get to escape and think retro for a few during quarantine. Bless the metal Jesus
The N64 is my favorite Nintendo console and I still regularly play it. It has some of my favorite racing games such as Diddy Kong Racing and F-Zero X. The only game you showed in your video I have not played is Stunt Racer. Other racing games on the N64 you did not mention are Micro Machines 64 Turbo and Cruis'n Exotica.
Poor framerate.
Oh man I loved N64! So many hundreds of hours of couch multiplayer!!!
I have a retro arch with all the games I own licenses to. I loved being able to dig through my carts, custom labels and some in blockbuster cases. Some even have the nostalgic "property of" blue tamper proof stickers! Alas.. my physical media has all been packed away for safe keeping. I wish I had a collection like yours, but through the years it was hard to hang on to anything.. especially in the days of wheeling and dealing stuff like Pokemon cards for high value items. A Charizard for 007 GoldenEye seemed like a great idea at the time. Lol.
Thanks for sharing this and all your other nostalgic throwbacks with us. Stay well, my friend.
Love your channel Metal Jesus.I have been watching your channel for many years now it has helped me in many ways especially my mental health, thank you for the videos you are truly a legend mate
Thanks to you, I love Beetle Adventure Racing!
Glad to hear it!
Try out the PAL Version! It's called "HSV Adventure Racing" Same amazing game, but no stupid Beetles lol
+SkyHighGam3r The EU-PAL Version does have Beetles aswell. HSV was exclusive to australia.. kinda expensive because of it. Much like snowboard kids 2 which only had PAL release in australia but was never released in europe.
@@retropulse03 Had no idea about this version of the game, thanks! And yea, like @Big Lebowski said, it seems likes it was only released in AUS!
I was gonna mention how Extreme-G wasn't on the list 'til I saw it on the honorable mentions. The N64 was indeed a great console for racing titles.
I'd add Vigilante 8 to the list, although it isn't much of a "racing" game per se.
Great list, mate! keep up the good work.
Rush USA was a standard in my circle. Loved that it was the beginning of open worlds with the shortcuts.
Great list! I also enjoyed playing Extreme G. Many great memories with that game
Honourable additions:
1080 Snowboarding. Still the ‘WaveRace’ of snowboarding games.ExciteBike64. The same but with bikes. Ridge Racer64. NST developed and smooth, clear, superb game.
Can't believe how good Top Gear: Overdrive still looks!
diddy kong racing is such a classic. the first time i ran over that frog with the rooster crest, and unlocked drumstick was awesome haha.
Awesome review, thanks, you just made me want to get back into these games.
Missing one game. California Speed. That game is amazingly wild. Driving inside a giant mall or inside a computer was just insane.
He's not going to name every single racing.
@@MrJZ27 What? He's not? :O
@@MrJZ27 but California Speed is a must have racing game for any N64 owner. It shows what Atari could do when given time to develope a racing game on a 64-bit console.
@@nicholascortez728 Nicholas Cortez don't get me wrong I love California speed. Played it alot in the arcades. San Francisco Rush is a great one. Spent alot of hours finding shortcuts and keys to unlock hidden cars I m just busting Louden chips that's all.
California Speed was great, much better than the Cruis'n games.
RUSH 2 is still a favorite of mine. Love trying to get all the M. Dew cans and the Stunt course level is a lot of fun.
Heck yes. I'm still trying to find all those keys lol.
Enjoying the videos during lockdown! Thanks for reintroducing the regular Tuesday video again. 👍😁
Another fantastic video. I always get excited about an N64 or PS1 video. The late '90s and early 2000's were always jam packed with awesome games!
The Pod Racer game is coming to the Switch soon.
I heard that! Insta-buy on Switch 😎
@@MetalJesusRocks Hell yeah!
PS4, as well
@@MetalJesusRocks If you mention Pod Racing in the future, it's worth mentioning the PS2 game is a sequel, and not an enhanced version. A lot of people don't know that so they never bother playing it.
That misconception hits way too many games (Castlevania - Legacy of Darkness, for example) In fact, I think a whole video about dispelling that for a handful of games would be amazing.
Definitely. I was good at that game.
My favorites from your video are :
1) mariokart (obviously!)
2) Hydro thunder (I have the dream cast version in my collection)
3) Cruis'n USA (reminds me of the out run arcade game)
See I love the fact that you're posting your list not bitching like other people are doing just because he left a game out of his list. and 9 out of 10 times its a unpopular game
Joe Zayas exactly, I don’t understand why people would bitch about content on a channel that they have an interest in.
Debate but don’t bitch 🤷🏻♂️
Bad Ass Megadeth shirt dude!!! Great video. Loved CruisN USA and CruisN World.
Sat down and finished Diddy Kong Racing over the Easter weekend. Opened up the mirror tracks. It's been over ten years since I played it last.
Used to play a lot of Destruction Derby. Loved it!
Beetle Adventure Racing is a masterpiece way ahead of its time.
Loved beetle adventure racing. Fully unlocked all easter eggs of that game.
Re-volt I rediscovered few days ago on the pc and the community is super alive! Love it!
Jason, you should check out Roadster, one of my favorite N64 racers!
Good list. Mickeys Speedway is an underrated game. The graphics are well put together and don't loko as clashy as most early 3D games do.
Have you ever driven a real RC car?
I want part 2!!!
Awesome video Metal Jesus
🤘
N64 was an amazing system. I still own my. Glad I could play almost this entire list. Thanks for this man, brought some really nice family and friends memory.
Hot wheels turbo racing and LEGO racing :) both were fun! I liked the tricks you could do in hot wheels better than stunt racer
Thank you 🤗
Hot Wheels was amazing, I still have a PS1 copy of that one. We used to play it a lot on the N64 back in the day.
Hot Wheels Turbo Racing is definitely the superior stunt racer on the system, IMO. Played so smoothly too.
Cruisin' USA was one of my favorite N64 games I had. I was heartbroken when my cartridge came up missing.
You can play it on an emulator on your PC, phone or tablet. www.romulation.org/
Wave Race is no joke man! You’re on point on all these games! Your channel literally is my favorite man! Just wanted to let you know you truly inspire me.
I SO love your videos! Thank you for sharing lots of information!
I recently bought an old New 3Ds XL ;) and a Wii U and started thinking about how to store all of my consoles so they are ready to play..... so I stumbled upon one of your old Wii videos and learned about the HDMI adapter :O
I also love how you rate games based on how you feel when you play them! Great approach!
Thanks for everything!
Cruisn World is one of my faves.
I'd like a Cruisn collection on Switch.
"they were all about fun"
What a novel concept these days, especially with racing games. I got Need for Speed PS4 in a bulk sale (a sale that scored me Mario Galaxy New in Box no less) and I tried to play it and I spent an hour driving from one place to another just to watch 10 minute cut scenes every time. I gave up on it.
Yeah, it's kinda sad that I consider World Driver Championship as one of the best and most fun semi-realistic racing games I ever played despite playing it for the first time last year. These days it really feels like it's either a Sim (which I do like), a Arcade / Retro tribute like Horizon Chase and Forza Horizon being left as the only real option for "Have some stupid fun with cars"
@@Soonjai I REALLY want someone to make a Motorstorm game with modern graphics and physics. Apocalypse was a such a fun and spectacular game. Tracks with giant set pieces that crumble and explode around you as you race through the chaos? Shut up and take my money!
Waverace 64 is the perfect example. I can launch that game anytime and have genuine *fun*
Even the original Xbox NFS games are better and still look good graphically.
@@bmx7596 because the 6th gen was amazing
Metal Jesus never stop uploading such amazing videos that both reminds us lots of amazing games of the past or hidden gems and inspire us to be the ''total game collector''!! Eternal respect from a gamer to a real gamer!!!!:)
Wave Race will forever be in my top 10 64 games! Great showcase.
San Fransisco rush was one of my favourites
for me one of my favourite racing games on the N64 was Wipeout64. Somehow I never see it mentioned anywhere in those lists...
probably because Wipeout was a staple for the PS1 and thus people don't tend to associate it with Nintendo even though Wipeout64 was definitely amazing
@@bojinglebells Wipeout 64 is not popular. Very cheap game. The ps1 version [and sequels] is way better. Mainly due to the music.
@metaljesusrocks my favorite video! Can't wait for part 2
Great video, i loved the racing games on the N64 they are probably the best still.
N64 was the first ever console i ever touched. AHHH those times when i was kid
Same! I remember loosing my self entirely into Super Mario 64...
Love you too 😭😭😭
I must watch this video while listening to: Eazy-E - Cruisin' In My 64
Boyz in the hood are always hard start talkin that trash we’ll pull your card. Knowin nothin in life but to be legit don’t quote me boy cus I ain’t said shittttt
Listen to the dynamite hack version lol
The quality of your videos is truly unmatched. Thank you for your content. Never fails
Glad you enjoy it!
It was so hard to convince my friends back in the day how amazing Beetle Adventure Racing was. "I know it's just the same car with different paint, but seriously guys, this game is amazing!"
Part of the problem was also that other kids my age just weren't into straight up racing games. It was either stuff like Mario Kart or nothing. I thank my dad for getting me into racing games at such a young age. Nowadays I can spend just as many hours playing Forza Horizon as I could just about anything else.
Who's got love for the hero's that died attempting the rainbow road leap of faith haha ❤️
More of a speedrun strategy, not too tough. :)
Good times haha
It was sure a fun gamble move back then. It would either put you way ahead or way behind. 😄
I was more of player that caused havoc. Who else diarrhea'd bananas on the Zip pad that jumped the gap in Wario Stadium to pretty much screw the NPCs or sometimes other players? 🤣
I love you
Yeah, removing the ability to jump from high sections of rainbow road down to lower sections in the sequel games really took away from the charm of the franchise, I think. Ruining the Wario Stadium Jump was always the best, sucks that no entries since then had an equivalent section
No Road Rash 64??? That's one of my favorites
Jumpin Jim Rivers!!! Great list! Reminds me of the ones I'm still missing from my collection and want to play again. Would have to add Excitebike 64, 1080 and Destruction Derby. Sooo glad you had Beetle Adventure Racing because that game was just awesome for some reason.
BROOO YOU HAVE PLOK FOR SNES IN YOUR INTRO??? 😂😂😂WHAT A KING
Last time I was this early to a video the world wasn't falling apart.
I tried AeroGauge once and I liked it, nobody talks about that one though
Such a great game. Amazing soundtrack and great controls.
Is that the one where you can unlock an N64 controller as a vehicle?
I remember renting that in the summer of 99, great game!
@@adamphillip5305 yep. Such a cool easter egg.
Wish more people did. Solid and fun game.
Great game footage and very informative video!
Fun tip for Metal Jesus! If you let off the accelerator while going over boosts or using blue balloons in Diddy Kong Racing, you boost even faster (the flames will be green instead of purple)! This is really key for unlocking TT in the time trials section. Love the video!
rush 2049 only honorable mention?!?!?1 check it out on mame PC with a 60fps hack and a logitech wheel/pedals if u can... it's AMAZING
Source for a setup guide in a forum post or anything please?
That sounds amazing. Thanks!
Rush 2049 is extremely demanding, you need an i9 to emulate it at those speeds in MAME.
Here, take a look at the setup mentioned above:
ua-cam.com/video/WiSz71lerKQ/v-deo.html
No Wipeout 64? Instant fail. After Mario Kart 64 and Beetle Racing, its the best.
Love you 😘❤️
the water physics in Wave Race 64 look awesome, the way they get the choppiness of it.. impressed
Another great video
I can watch your content all day brother
Stay safe
Rally Challenge 2000 anyone? Had a black colored cartridge
It's time games came on vinyl records. Game discs are just too small.
I hear you. I'm always losing game discs or i break em cos they're just too brittle. The bigger the better. And thus bigger and better games.
there were some on laserdisc
We only had about ten N64 games growing up but two of them were racing games, Lego Racer 64 and Rush 2. I spent so many hours playing both of those games. This video makes me see how many other games I was missing out on. Too bad I wasn't in charge when I was a kid.
I got most of them!!!! Which means we have similar taste. Awesome video 👍.
..i own Waverace 64 & F-Zero X and i must say, they are still "playable" today..one game that i don't have that i really want to play is Beetle Adventure Racing
Ep 1 Racer is coming to Switch soon. Shoulda mentioned it.
I saw that...and completely FORGOT LOL
Cruisin USA was one of my favorite games for the 64, it was also one of the first games i owned for it, played it to absolute death with my brothers, unlocked everything. Such a great game. Another amazing video, ty for all the content you put out and everything you do.
The most popular 64 game, in my friend group, is Micro Machines 64. It's single screen and top down, and it's incredibly fast and you die when you fall too far behind on the screen, or leave the track for too long. When there's only one car remaining, everybody either loses or gains points and then they respawn. The bite-size rounds remind me of games like Towerfall.
Awesome video man keep pushing
I'm glad San Francisco Rush 2049 got a shout out near the end, I have so many memories with that game. Its probably my number one racer on the system.
I always enjoy that you show love to the racing genre and how expansive it can be, the 64 is stacked with timeless racing games.
Cruise'n usa was fun..san fransisco rush was extremely a blast and starwars podracer was excellent and i pretty much played it every day for like two months and im really excited to hear its coming to the switch soon looking forward for it again! Thanks metal jesus great video
You never reuse an intro. I've watched for a while and as far as I can tell their each unique. It's those extra little deets that keep 'em coming back.
Glad you like them!
I loved beetle racing back in the day. Nobody ever knew what it was lol. Great game. Lots of fun
San Francisco Rush 2049, good honorable mention. I hope you review it a bit more in the next video. That game is loaded with shortcuts, collectibles, battle/stunt modes, ghost racing, and tons of unlockable parts/cars/tracks.
I love N64 games, specially Beetle Adventure Racing. Greetings from Italy ;)
I have a bit of a personal relationship with F-Zero X and Extreme G. Those games actually helped me conquer a childhood fear of roller coasters with inversions. Now, thanks to playing those games, I can ride anything.
Beetle Adventure Racing!! Dude this game brings back so much memories!
Watching videos about Nintendo 64 is equivalent to the serenity of meditating in a peaceful forest ~ With Splinter
Alot of great games mentioned here. Some I will definitely have to check out. Two games I always found myself playing were Destruction Derby and Penny Racers
