    To be fair, many native English speakers find it difficult to pronounce some of these words. But Japan sure leads the world in very strange TV

    I do agree that speaking English for the first time is difficult. However, when she said '10 and 20 sound the same.' I went Nope! Cause in Japanese you have Cho and Chi. Cho means Butterfly and Chi means blood. So one vowel changed two words. Where if you pronounce 10 and 20 there are some pronunciation differences.

    In Thailand people will ask you your age. In the West this is considered rude, but Thais are simply trying to establish this because culturally the way you talk & interact with someone is very dependent on age/seniority. But they also have no problem telling you that you have become fat, or ask you questions like where have you been?, what did you buy?, how much do you earn?, etc.
