      @@kevinfinnerty8414 Ridiculous. Reeves won at several different places. He had success in Denver, Atlanta, and New York. Who else can you say that about? Parcells, sure...Schottenheimer...It's a short list...Most coaches make their name on one team, if they're lucky enough to coach a talented club...Lombardi, Noll, Landry, Gibbs, Walsh...all those Hall of Fame coaches led unbelievably talented rosters...Reeves won consistently, even getting to the Super Bowl 4 times....with, what, ONE true, no-brainer Hall of Fame player in Elway? During this time in Denver, who else did he have? Simon Fletcher, Dennis Smith, Steve Atwater...they were all outstanding, but two of them were SAFETIES...when you biggest names are at the safety position, that rarely leads to dominant defense...Reeves was great at getting average teams to overachieve. I'd have loved to have seen him with one truly talented roster, like the Cowboys of the early 90's...

      N M Damn straight. High tide for Brownstown. I get goosebumps watching these Municipal stadium home playoff games from the Kosar years. The energy of that crowd is almost unreal.
      As great as that Drive was, Elway really had to fight for every yard. So hard hitting - seriously I ache for those fans and the Browns players, they wanted it so bad, had it right on their grasp.
      As painful as this is to watch, it’s also a reminder of what it really means to be a Browns fan. Yes there is pain - but that pain makes the good stuff feel triumphant.

    • @Hotspur77
      @Hotspur77 3 роки тому +5

      @@hd-xc2lz It wasn’t INTs that plagued Kosar in his last years - it was sacks. Caused by Belichick’s horrible scheme, lack of supporting talent, and Kosar’s own immobility due to a series of major injuries esp the knee injury in Miami late in 1988, and a shattered ankle (also against Miami) in 1992. But Bernie never lost his accuracy, despite the most notorious of his injuries, the ruined elbow he suffered when blind-sided by Lloyd Burress of KC in the ‘88 opener.
      But in his prime - roughly 85-89 - Kosar was elite, a top-5 player. In 86-87 especially, he was matched only by Montana, Marino, and Elway.
      And Bernie was the youngest starting QB in the NFL from 85-88. Was only 22 years old in this game…his poise and leadership, amazing. Best big play QB in the league with a specialty for dropping blitz-beating bombs.

There was a time when commercials were watchable, but almost all these days are UBER annoying and stupid. If too much T.V. makes you stupid, then muting and minimizing commercials, for me, helps me to salvage a little bit more intelligence that I would otherwise lose if I didn't.

    This game had it all: the mud, the playoff atmosphere, the drama, the thrill of victory, and the agony of defeat. I was in agony because I wanted Cleveland to win badly and I could't stand John Elway because of how he ditched the Colts. But I'm glad I lived in an era with so many classic games and where football was played with better fundamentals. It just doesn't seem quite the same anymore...uniforms are now always clean and pretty, can't spell half the names, many players struggle to block or tackle consistently, penalty flags are thrown every 3rd play it seems, too many guys showing off after making routine plays, and many new uniforms are sissified or just plain ugly. I still watch NFL football but it is lacking in many respects. Perhaps I am just hoping for a revival that will never be?

      the game isn't the same. it's not they've changed the rules. John elway playing in the league today which smash every passing record known to man. elway Montana Marino they made incredible passes out of their ear holes sometimes. those of us that got to watch the game in the 1980s we will never get the same joy out of it for one the talent level at the quarterback position was through the roof. and the game was a game of brute force and wills. today it is a game with few exceptions of finess and speed almost like basketball and cleats.... the money is too big they are suffering the same fate Major League baseball did free agency salary caps it's just a different game. brain trauma.... they took the big old set of horse nuts that was the NFL and they cut them off. and yes the game it's still entertaining. but the 1970s and 1980s early '90s that is the Golden age of NFL football that's when it was at its best. and people can be in denial or they want to like Major League baseball's golden age of the 60s and 50s it is now in decline. it will lose popularity through the years. as they neuter it more and more as players become more and more high paid tickets go through the roof out of reach for the average person they will have the same fate as baseball. like baseball it will be a slow death but there's no doubt it's in decline

      I can't stand today's football players in many respects. It's no longer enough to celebrate a touchdown; now almost all teams celebrate a stupid petty 'interception' the same way they would a touchdown. That's so pathetic that it's indescribable. Players had more confident and class years ago; it wasn't such a 'big deal' for them to intercept the ball that they would feel the need to celebrate for 30 seconds. Today's players have no 'uncommon sense' nor do any coaches -as all NFL coaches tolerate this stupid crap from their players....
