    Every time I see a video from you I learn something new. Doing a setup for a music video is hard but also making the behind the scene also, it's on another level. Thank you for doing this for us! I always wonder if I'll ever be able to reach 10% of what you are doing.

      Thanks George! and of course you will! We just planned out a shoot schedule, had some reference frames to work to and planned out in my head how to shoot everything before walking on set.
      It's taken me about a year to get setup to be able to shoot BTS stuff on professional jobs - but it's so good to be able to bring people behind the scenes. The studio day was absolutely ferocious in terms of schedule I think 9am-7pm without stopping. The insta360 also came in "clutch" for wearing this on my hat for POV stuff.

    Awesome video- must be a very chill studio for them to let you soak it like that 😂
    I’m shooting a music video next weekend and ordering a new light for it, so excited to apply some of this knowledge 👌

      Yeah I probably didn't make it clear but it's an actual rain studio! So we used the handheld pump for the lying down shots then let the overhead sprinklers rip for the rest of it!
      Good luck on your project!

    Hey Ed, thanks so much for making this BTS video! I've learned so much from this especially with using colors and creative filters. I think many times I play too safe but you really showed how in the right scenarios these tools really can bring our filmmaking to another level.
    Just curious, is there a reason why you chose to shoot on sticks for the studio shots and not shooting handheld all the way? Thanks again and keep up the awesome work!

    • @EdProsser
      @EdProsser  8 місяців тому

      We had a really tight schedule on the studio day and minimal crew so we figured it'd be easy to set camera on sticks and setup shots and lights around that. I think the illusion of some of the shots may have been broken by handheld, but perhaps we should have played it less safe with some of the rain stuff and got a few takes hand held.
      The main issues are pulling / keeping focus on more dynamic shots... if we'd had more powerful lights we could have stopped down a bit more on the lens which would have helped for handheld work.
