How to clean your bike properly in 6 easy steps

In this video I’m going to give you what I feel is the best way on how to clean your bike properly. Because my channel covers bike restorations, the cleaning process is especially suited for older bicycles.
Nonetheless I feel that my cleaning process has a number of unique elements so you definitely want to sit this one out till the end.

I am also a fan of dry cleaning. Once you have brushed off all mud and sand, you simply use a wet cloth to wipe of the remaining dust.
For cleaning the chain I use methanol. Maybe not as effective as mineral spirit when it comes to degreasing, but for me it is good enough. You don’t have to worry about spilling the methanol and you can filter it with a simple paper filter.

Wear some nitrile gloves, not only keeps hand clean but you will not absorb chemicals through skin

How do you remove mud? Do you also use the brush?

If I can, yes. Maybe mud can be so caked on that a brush simply will not suffice.
