- This was a fun Monday to Monday project swapping the Cam on a 2006 GTO. The car only had about 20,000 miles on it so it was like working on a new car. Used Brian Tooley Racing Stage 3 cam, Yank 3600 stall, American Racing LT headers and swapped the driveshaft for a 1 piece.
nothing sounds better than a badass V8!!!!!!!

If I were you, I would replace all the gaskets even the pan gasket. You already have the engine out it doesn’t cause that much more for the gaskets, the rear main seal on the front but that’s just me.

Maybe I didnt catch it, but did you degree the cam? Or just line up the dots?
There’s a pin on the cam and a hole in the cam sprocket so it can only go on one way. Then you just line the dots up on the cam and crank sprocket and you’re gold.
@@guitargod66 Roger that, I thought so from when I had the cam for my GTO but trying to get into a father/son hobby I sold it before I got it in. But revisiting the build idea again. Turns out, dirt bikes weren't his thing lol
@@kennymilton7457 It definitely isn’t for everyone. Hobbies can be tricky. Sometimes you have to dive in to find out that you don’t like something. Hope you can make some headway on the car now!
Everything pushrods lifters rockers was stock and took the cam or what did u need to upgrade?
They were all replaced but stock specs. Valve springs got upgraded for the cam though
