I was diagnosed with Hairy Cell leukemia November 21st 2022. I have the low blood cells and platelet but I have none of the symptoms. I'm glad I do my checkups annually. No inflammation of the spleen liver gallbladder normal and I feel no discomfort. I still need to do the Chemotherapy the end of this December 2022. I am from Brooklyn NY so no farming or gardening (Lucky me).

My husband has hairy cell and was never exposed to round up but we found articles that linked not only round up but dirty diesel. My husband worked in the engine room of a large navy ship and "played" in the diesel a lot.
I would like someone to answer why I have lost a great grandmother, grandmother, two uncles and now a first cousin who have or had this! How can leukemia run in my family
Are you sure its because of heredity and not environment? Were they all exposed to the same chemicals or radiation? Hairy Cell is actually rare, so its extremely unusual for it to be so many in one family with it.
If the spleen were normal, there wouldn’t be any of these abnormal cells in the blood because the spleen removes them all and bites the Heinz body into a bite cell, but only if the spleen is non-functional that these cells can be seen.
