My brother died from this cancer last June, he finally passed away on my birthday after a long and horrible battle. Ty for putting up info on youtube.. it's hard to read on this but I am thankful.
Did he find out about his cancer very late? I heard the survival rates are rly high Made me kinda scared hearing this since i got diagnosed with burkitts lymphoma 2 months ago but so far everything went well
My brother was diagnosed 10 months ago, and there are high chances that he is going to die bc chemo and radio did not respond well, probably with car-t he has one last chance. It's hard.
I'm a Berkitts survivor. Being an aggressive cancer is to your advantage, because it contains fast growing cancer cells , its is achilles heel . Chemo homes in on fast growing cancer cells. I had 3 months of daily chemo treatments , radiation, and spinal injections ( that was the worst) , they not only gave me chemo treatments through the IV but they also injected chemo into the base of my spine , really painful, apparently this type of Lymphoma has a tendency to travel up the spine and into your brain. . my treatment called for to have my bone marrow extracted, had to sit for 6 or 8 hours cant remember exactly how long but it was either or, they put a steel needle in my arm and had to keep my stationary for that length of time( was not allowed to move my arm ). One of the things that really bothered me was the food , the chemo changes the way you taste things ( everything tastes bad ). I highly recommend bring your own food , this is huge . I got to the point where even if i smelled the hospital food coming it would make me heave. Had to pee into a large jar that had measurements on it to record the amount of urine I was putting out . After a while even that was starting to make me ill , its gross after awhile. I was told that there was a 50/50 chance of survival. This was in 2007 so I have no idea of the advancements since then .
I am inspired by your journey and am undergoing a similar treatment protocol. I hope to live. I have Burkitt's Light--- not sure what that means but I just spent a week in the hospital and go back in three weeks for another 5-day stay, then home to recoup, and so on...
Undergoing treatment right now. My spinal cord injection wasn't bad at all. Also, Im having no problem with hospital food. At this point hospital food seems the smallest of my problems.
I really really appreciate this your lecture when the doctor said my child has Burkett lymphoma I was what is this, but now leave everything for God we have started the chemo for 6wks now, my trust is in God.
amazing👌👌👌 keep up my dude but I have a question at 2:19 u said there is low ca due to high uric acid but also there is hypercalcemia below it I am confused now 🤦♀️ is there low or high ca?
Hey, why hypercalcemia yet you said there's a high phosphate level after cell destruction and the phosphate reacts with the calcium leading to hypocalcemia?
"pathologists are romantic people: )".i have a family member with a type of cancer,i know about cancer as a unwelcome common friend,"genesis in gene",you teach well i love language so your explination of terms is very good .your videos explains well what doctors are doing next and why.and what happening in the body.if it can be fixed or not,and treatments.
2:18 I have a question...you are saying that since phosphate is binding calcium, it will be low. And also you have written hypercalcemia. So I am very confused. Maybe I am missing something. Please help!!
He meant in a case of tumor lysis syndrome; the electrolyte imbalance would occur but mainly the hypocalcemia noted in tumor lysis syndrome is as a result of the phosphate binding to calcium leading to a reduction in free Ca++
you wrote hypercalcemia in the slide, but said there would be high phosphate from the cell turn over that binds with calcium in the plasma. I'm confused.
I watched all these lymphoma lukemia videos,i understood them pretty well...now im confused and scared on how to just memorize all these on my fingertips and forever...someone plz suggest me...😭😭😭

My brother died in 2001 after 10 months of treatments. In France. He was 18. So sudden, so violent. Awful.

but I have a question at 2:19 u said there is low ca due to high uric acid but also there is hypercalcemia below it

is there low or high ca?
Great question...I think it could be either one...Hypercalcemia due to the malignancy, and hypocalcemia due to the tumor lysis syndrome.
Perfectionalis it is clear now. thx for your answer😀
My pleasure!
I want the Mnemonic now! Lol
I never quite 100% understood why its stary sky but now I will remember the pac-man looking macrophages eatting :D
Haha! That’s so funny! I am so happy you liked the macrophage :)

Maybe this results into hypocalcium after that
He meant in a case of tumor lysis syndrome; the electrolyte imbalance would occur but mainly the hypocalcemia noted in tumor lysis syndrome is as a result of the phosphate binding to calcium leading to a reduction in free Ca++
you wrote hypercalcemia in the slide, but said there would be high phosphate from the cell turn over that binds with calcium in the plasma. I'm confused.
Either situation is possible!

What CAUSES this Cancer? Did it exist 300 years ago? What can be done to spit it in the future?
300 years ago, we didn’t know that microorganisms existed.
you are awesome
hey doctor you write , abnormal labs in NHL hypercalcemia why ??
it is wrong must be hypocalcemia

Can anyone say that is lymphoblasticlymphoma a cancer
Yes, it is!

Welcome!
Doesn’t this cancer double in size every 16-24 hours
If that were true, the cancer size would be bigger than the patient in less than a month.
This is not true.
