@@catalystz It should be if they are doing a 100%. It should be all bosses + anything that changes the world + all quests. But the route looks strange for all quests. They don't even talk with Seigmore. This boils down to an RTSR and dragon tooth exploit run, all bosses, all bonfires, kindled.

I'm so glad I found catalystz because all his runs are fire; but I have to know what run is going on in the background after hour 3 that everyone is laughing about.
3:25 I spent 3 hours in the other two areas before realizing you could go the intended route from firelink shrine up that path. I not only got the firebombs, but I nearly killed the necromancer before ever killing an enemy other than the skeletons and tutorial island enemies/'boss'. Suffice to say, I was very confused how I was meant to play that perfectly and survive when you couldn't kill the underground skeletons, but I wasn thoroughyl enjoying every second of it. But once I found the 'correct' way I was severely dissapointed with how easy the game was supposed to be out the get go. 3 days playing it so far.
TUME 1 Witcher 3 100% (no paid dlc) record is ~20h. Witcher and Witcher 2 would be weird to do 100% because of the branching paths, but I guess it could be max% instead. Neither of those runs would be as long as TW3 100%, TW2 has actual useful glitches and TW1 doesn’t have the same amount of content and massive glitch potential
The flag for completion might be set after you help him on lost izalith. So the catagory might not require it. I think you get a titanite slab so I would think you need it, but its not in a chest so no flag? I'm not really sure tbh.
Technically couldn’t you also complete the quest line by letting him die in izalith or just killing all the chaos eaters before he jumps down? AFAIK there are just 3 possible endings, ash lake being one of them
Saying "RTSR" instead of "Red Tearstone Ring" is a symptom of being chronically online. It's the same number of syllables, saves no time and can only decrease potential understanding. It's only a useful acronym when typed.
You have to also account for the fact that they're writing RTSR in notes or discussions often so since it's faster there and the same amount of syllables while speaking, RTSR becomes the preferred one
They spend so much time slow walking and rolling through the swamp, the water, etc when there's a ring that allows you to sprint through those things. I'd think a trip back to the asylum right after lordvessel would be the faster option.
Bit late to reply, but her questline ends with her leaving, so the agreed rules are just that she has to be gone from Blightown at the end of the run. If you ignore her completely and kill BoC, that's the result, but if you upgraded the pyro flame to spawn her, you would need to buy everything and upgrade the flame to make her leave which takes longer.
@Lumiel Might be that you have to kill Kirk all three times. I remember them picking up the stuff for the summon you can get for Butterfly and Four Kings. Or do you mean Quelana?
You guys forgot to kill titanite demon after saving solaire :/ and i was wondering, you get the weapon that's hidden in the tail of the immortal dragon covenant, but you never get any other weapon hide in others dragon's tail? like the gaping dragon, the red dragon, seath and the boss at the end of painted world of ariamis?
DS1 levelling system works in a way where when you reach a certain number, the stat increase starts to plateau. For example (and the numbers are just for illustration's sake, they are not accurate), if you level up Vitality from 11 to 12, you're gonna get +50 total HP. The same goes if you level it further from 12 to 13, 13 to 14 and so on. But at one point, usually when you reach level 40, your gains start to diminish. So from 40 to 41, instead of the usual +50HP, you're gonna get +10HP. So in the speedrunner's case, leveling up everything to max level isn't worth it at all. The Vitality gains would just get in the way of the ring setup that makes you deal almost double damage when below 20% health. The Stamina gains are only really worth it until you have enough equip load to be able to fast roll, and Strenght and Dexterity, the last two important stats, plateau so hard at level 40 that continuing to level them up would waste more time than it would save from dealing that small extra damage. That's about all there is to it, hope I cleared it up.
I must have missed something because when he goes for the bonfire outside Gwyndolin’s boss room, I thought you needed to either have attacked Gwynevere or have the Darkmoon Seance ring equipped?

@@MortifiedThePenguinyes, some Mimics just have like, normal loot modified with elements, etc. So the Crystal Halberd, Occult Club, etc. Aren't needed. He did pick up the Lightning Spear because it would be used as a weapon until he got a better one
@@StuartAtkinson4467non-respawning in the category refers to enemies in the world that don't respawn once you kill them because that's a permanent change to the world. Those two enemies are in Lautrec's world, so they don't count. Also, for the dragon tails, Cata himself explained in another comment that aside from the Everlasting Dragon in Ash Lake, all the other tails respawn if you cut them and reload, so it's not a permanent change and also doesn't count
Didn't you listen? What they mean by 100% is: all permanent changes to the game world and non respawnable items/monsters. They never said anything about getting every item.
Adding from what other already said: he is picking up almost every chest item, it's just that most of them overflow from his inventory and thus are automatically dropped on the floor.
We might also add that even if the risk is very low, taking any uesless risk fighting annoying ennemies could result in death and thus net time loss. As you could see through the run, he did die a few times because of normal mob doing wtf stuff. Also, in case you're wondering, they're excluding loading time to make it fair for people having lower end computer who have slower time loads.

The reason they do that is because loading times in dark souls (like a lot of pc games) are heavily dependant on a computer system and thus would be unfair for people having slower computer. So since they don't account for loading time, it's "faster" versus fighting ennemes wich would be accounted for.

The answer is fairly obvious... because it's faster. Just "going through the levels" as a casual player would is very slow, and so doing this routing is just faster.
To add to what other said, did you even listen to what they said? Most of the times, when they got back to an already visited area, they DID explained why they would only complete them "now instead of sooner".
