    I’m a big fan of Aura, especially in matte finish. But for someone trying to save some money, Regal Select is also pretty good and mostly the same user experience.

    Benjamin Moore products are the best. I currently have a painting business and have never strayed from them. (13 years). I’m just surprised over the years you always seemed to use Sherwin Williams Chris. My opinion they are night and day….good video.

    I used Aura on an accent wall in a bathroom. Found it to be insanely thick, I use the Regal and Ultra Spec 500 on a regular basis and would stick with Regal 9/10

    I painted both kids rooms and just painted mine with aura. Beautiful paint. Amazing coverage one coat each room and you can wipe off mess with ease and without damaging the finish. Pricey but to me if you value your time it’s worth.

    I agree! Aura is my favorite paint. It’s a fantastic paint but the prices in my area have gone sky high. Used this in a remodel of a 4 bathroom/ shower/ washer dryer area at a Marina on the Atlantic Ocean and it has stood up beautifully in this high traffic area. No mold even with the high humidity and moisture. Perfect paint for frequent touch ups. I also like BM Regal Select. Would you do a comparison video on Regal vs Aura? ( Especially now with the high cost of paint!) Love your videos. Thank you for the info.

    We just had our paint contractor use Aura Pale Oak matte, two coats for our entire home. We used BM paint samples on the walls prior and the samples are creating a halo through Aura. When we get direct sunlight in the room you can really see the outlines of the samples. This is disappointing for $90 paint. I was thinking about using the edge of a roller and dab over the areas. I just don't want to mess up a new paint job.

    Im devout Benjamin Moore user, have been for years now. I've tried a bunch of other brands and nothing even comes close. I recently chose Aura for the inside of the house, it is for me hands down the easiest paint to work with (brush and roll, no spraying). I still use 2 coats. Thank you for the review. Keep up the pro tips, enjoy them and they do make life a lot easier.

    Aura is great, the only thing about high quality paints like this is the price, if youre doing an entire house with Aura its going to add up to a significantly higher price than if you used their Ben line, now if youre going to just get your living room painted it wont hurt as much in terms of price, but the paint does have a great finish, applies well, evens out and the amount of coverage is great. Its my favorite paint to use, regal is another good option from ben moore.

    The matte aura is the best matte on the market but its not worth the price. I get plenty of coverage from regal select and im saving atleast $10 to 25 a gal. I dont even want to ask whaty price is. Now after the price hikes. Great for a accent wall but not an entire house unless the owner pays the premium

    Excellent paint. But requires BM extender to slow drying to get it to lay smooth. Not too much or it will run. Pro tip: do your cuts and let them dry, Then roll the walls. Even with extender, this stuff dries too fast for wet edge.

      @@Idahopainter Chris, I just learned that there was a major reformulation of Aura early in 2022. Logos on your can indicate that it is the new version. As per official BM videos, they state the main goal increased workability (e.g. ability to backroll). . I'm going to grab a can tomorrow. Old version was excellent, but really tough to produce a stipple free finish even with extender, the recommended roller cover and proper technique. Very interested to see if the new one lays out better.

    I worked in a b Moore store back in the 90s as the “assistant mgr” (yes I know it’s a joke title) and when we did a coverage test on a wall in the back room it failed against every other paint.

      @19Photographer76 2 роки тому +6

      As an 'assistant mgr', you probably weren't aware that Aura wasn't available in the 90s. Regal matte preceded Aura and was available in 2003. I don't believe Aura was released until 2007 so well after your back room tests.
