Wow great tour! Would love to know that the guy who actually works for Four Wheel Campers has to say about the assembly process. Let’s do another video where he gets to talk.
Enjoyed your four part Death Valley expedition-FWC tour, thank you. I roam the far west with a fully loaded Hawk model, but I think that I would also be happy with a shell model of the Hawk. My favorite option on these rigs is the furnace.
Oh man I know!! That had me so spoiled. Nothing like being able to wake up and cut on the heat to warm ya up!! I really like smaller trucks I think the Swift or Fleet is more my style. I wish I could make my 4runner into a pop up camper that would be perfect!! Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed, check out some of the other vids too.
It's odd that Mike Olds didn't mention the Swift model for 5ft bed when you asked him which campers fit the mid-size trucks. I thought maybe that meant they discontinued it, but it's still on their website. I hope they're not planning on dropping it because I plan on buying one for my Frontier Pro4x in a couple years.
does anyone know what type of joints are used in the cabinets. they look like they are simple butt joints and i dont see any grooves and cant tell if they are using keys or biscuits. just curious as to how they hold up to years of vibration.
Those are very cool, but I was surprised how pricey they are. Saw them at a sportsman show and saw one for a small size truck for like 14k. I guess the agreement is that they are very well made and will last.
That and customer service. when you compare it to the price of some of the other camper style options out there the value that you get with FWC is superior.
You need to figure these are aluminum frame and not wood construction like the competition. You get what you pay for and these will outlast the truck you put them on.
Any talk of them putting in a diesel heater, rather than LP heater and possibly a diesel stove? I really want to avoid the need to carry LP if I am already filling up the truck with diesel. Along with the diesel, solar would be my other source of energy and go with as much as possible along with a lithium battery bank to run an ARB fridge, all LED lights, chargers and such.
In yours description you said they were lactated in Woodland Hills, Ca and that’s not true. They are located in Woodland, Ca. Just wanted to clear that up. Have a great day!
I know the entire camper is pretty lightweight but the specific components you would have to ask them. Though Im not sure if they have weighed the floor alone
Sir William Goes: Have an Acquaintance around here that has like a 10 year 4 Wheel Pop-up...he and his wife always take 2 tarps with them when they go and gather firewood. Like most RVs,etc,.....complete overpriced POSs :)
I have an overpriced pos travel trailer and have heard of plenty more that said I haven't heard that about the FWC and from the looks of how they are put together and QC I'd be shocked if I did.
@@SirWilliamGoes Aluminum does not hold it's tensile over time/usage...that's the dirty little secret about it. Ever wonder why Planes have to be scrapped? Even under constant usage (pressure-cycles) and used WAY under the tensile/vibration strength thresh-hold...it weakens.....unlike steel. What I've noticed on their camper, the floor is the weakest link with 90-degree joint points, had the sidewalls and floor been welded together with cast/extruded rounded unions (to evenly spread the load),the walls and floor would not becoming apart. Their Toyota pickup does not help either....ever looked at the frame of a US Built Second Generation "Hilux" Tacoma to Present day? USA Spec Toyota pickups (Tundra to) don't even have fully-boxed frame anymore....the Truck itself is literally accelerating the pop-up coming apart. Funny part of the Hilux....every other country still gets the fully-boxed frame except the USA.
Base price for the Grandby is $19,465.00 USD. Awesome camper and ya get what you pay for. Maybe not as fancy as some, but you gain a lot of flexibility and save weight and gas consumption. 👍👍👍
Would have loved to hear the guy talk, but others have commented that already. Nice walkthrough
Thanks for watching and thanks for the input.
What a great tour! These are really neat campers that will take you to great places! Thanks for the fun walk through!
Glad you enjoyed
Really good tour man👍👍
Pick up my Hawk next month...!! Can't wait.....
Sweet I bet you're ecstatic!!
@@SirWilliamGoes Indeed Sir, very excited..

I'll keep that in mind, thanks for the feedback
This compsnir's consruction process is very oranized; they pay atention to detail: GOOD QUALITY!! Thsnks for the review --- 🙃😃👣
Great video tour of FWC. Shows that they really know what it takes to make a quality product that fully meets their customers needs.
For sure.
Nicely done tour. Taking us through the production process and directing the flow of information made this meaningful and easily understood. Perfect.
Glad you enjoyed
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing.
Great video! I'll be ordering one in a couple years...starting to plan ahead. Thank you for the video and tour!
You will love it. Chack out their website site too for shows they will be at so you can check them out.
Awesome, very interesting and I'm very interested in
They are awesome. Check out the series where i took one to Death Valley. Reach out to Mike Olds with any questions
more factory tour videos please
Nice to see USA manufacturing. Will be checking them out at the Overland West show.
Tell them Sir William sent ya!!
REALLY LOVE the idea of going "bare bones",. so i can alter it for ME!! WHAT'S MOT TO LOVE?!?? 🙃😃👣
Great tour. One of my favorite shows is How It’s Made. I love seeing the inside of manufacturing companies
Mine too!! It's amazing to me to watch something come from nothing!! I am working on another one that similar coming soon 😉
Looks like a truss layout table
Great tour! I just wished you let the guy talked more, since you’re trying to gather information from him.
Thanks for feedback
@8:35 space age material = Black ABS sheet 3/16" thick
That's space age right?
Awesome tour, great video. Keep up the good work!
Thanks
Great stuff. Can you please do the same tour of all terrain campers. Atc shells are 300 pound lighter
I'd love to, I'll have to look into these.
Great tour thanks for sharing and for showing the process.✌

yeah that one is my favorite for that reason too. I didn't catch that.
Sir William’s voice sounds exactly like Dr. Teeth from the Muppets. He should say “can you picture that” as a catch phrase just for fun.
Haha that’s a first. I must be too young for the reference not sure who he is
I know the campers have heaters in them but do they also have air conditioning for the summer?
Im sure thats an available option but the one I had did not

Not that I've heard. The solar they have already and id like to see a 12vt dedicated fridge too and larger solar. Not sure about the diesel heater tho
@@SirWilliamGoes There is 3 compressor refrigerator 12 volt options to be had up to 130 litres👍👍👍

Lactated in Woodland? I’m concerned, not the typical response.
Did you say this is in California
Yes woodland
@@SirWilliamGoes I live in valley springs. That's only like an hour and a half from here I think. I'm going there Saturday then 😅😅
How much?
does anyone know the ballpark weight of the wood floorpack? is it 2 layers on the floor?
I know the entire camper is pretty lightweight but the specific components you would have to ask them. Though Im not sure if they have weighed the floor alone
Interesting tour but Sir kept cutting off and interrupting the guy showing him the factory. Blah, blah blah.
Thanks for the advice
I don’t know - the factory spokesperson didn’t have a mic so he was difficult to hear. William just reiterated it so we could hear it.
There nicely made but know where worth that much money. 14k for a shell!! Insane.
I want form thailand

Sir William Goes I’d love too but unfortunately our dollar isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on. Nice camper but
What the frik is the big to do? Go to their website pick what truck you have and the options for that truck...this isn't rocket science goofball!
Some folks like to see the process of how they're built, this vids for them.
