You're so cool and amazing, i love your video so much, suggestions for next J-Hope's song: Boy Meets Evil Ego Airplane Baseline Piece of Peace I really hope you check it out Love you and thank you 💜
4:09 He can definitely sing. He's called Golden Hyung because he's a Dancer, Singer, Rapper, Composer, Producer, Writer, etc! He's just afraid of rollercoaster though 😅
I was about to comment the same thing! Plus the fact that he was originally supposed to be apart of the vocal line and then changed and learned how to rap. There’s nothing this man can’t do
@@linds1036 sorry, but I really just wanna let you know that it was not true. The rumour about him being the group's vocalist is not true. Way back, BigHit made a HipHop group called *DaeNamHyup* with RM on it. You might be a bit familiar with Supreme Boi which isa member too. Others were i11evn, HunChul, Hyosang/Kidoh, Marvel, Iron and Kyum2. Then after DNH, there came the *"BANGTAN"* in 2010 who's members were i11evn, HunChul, Hyosang/Kidoh, Yoongi/Suga, *Hoseok/J-Hope* and Namjoon/RM. Also a HipHop crew. But 4 of the members quit and then BTS was made having RM as the leader. So you see, HOSEOK is really a rapper and a dancer from the beginning.

@@istanthegreatest yes I do know this, thanks though! there was a live from a while back (not sure when exactly, it was back when I was in high school ) where it was said. If it’s not true then that’s cool lol. Maybe it was a joke at the time or it was mistranslated 🤷🏻♀️ it probably was, the translations barely made sense back then but thanks for letting me know😚 all I know is that man can also sing good asf
JHope is underrated. He is a total package and multi-talented. His charisma on live stage really shines. I think he doesn't get to showcase his vocals because I think he has a beautiful voice. Caught glimpses of it during BTS cover for Coldplay and Life Goes On.
If you have time, please listen to his mixtape "HOPE WORLD". Hoseok being a producer and a songwriter are just few of the reasons why I'm mindblown to his talents. Hobi also was able to build a unique brand for himself, that instead of taking away for the genuineness of BTS’s hip hop-print, blends with it perfectly! *He might not be perfect (no one is) but Hoseok is surely a limited edition this world had blessed us.* His attention to detail is found throughout his solo projects. Sometimes, it's the smallest vocal inflection or lyric that makes all the difference.
It's true he didn't rap before joining BTS but keep in mind that's been a decade now and he started writing around the same time he started rapping. He's been a rapper for over a decade now so he's every bit the professional, seasoned rapper. It's okay to be impressed that he learned to rap at an elite level in addition to dance but all of the rappers started from scratch at some point and he's just got a year or two less on the others. So sure, he's still "learning" but in the same way that all the other members are. In the same way we learn and improve every day we work at something. But please don't approach him like a novice or a beginner. He's been doing this since 2010.
Also, j-hope is a sub-vocalist in the group and credited as a member of the vocal gang in like half their songs. He regularly sings main parts too. He's the "5th member of the vocal line." And his rap has a lot of melody too. It's a signature of his to start singing than shift to rap especially in their older songs. And his mix tape has a ton of vocals.
The airplane can also reference (besides some bts videos) the mv that was release right after daydream: Airplane pt.1, it would be interesting if you checked Airplane pt.2 (that is actually a BTS song sung by the 7 members from the Love Yourself: Tear album, the only mv available for this song is in japanese, but the Korean version is in the album) in sequence and pay some special attention to Hobi's verse, since he reuses bits from the first part but switch the flow completely, he's INSANE and army twt was on fire because of it when it was released! xD
Airplane pt 2 is in Japanese. A reaction to it would need to be heavily edited, with no more than 10% of the video and audio shown or it will result in a copyright strike. The Japanese distributors own copyrights and they are very strict, even more so than the broadcast media companies.
actually, its kinda awesome that you mentioned young, wild, and free because bts (j-hope, jungkook, and jimin) did a remake of the song before they even debuted just like the remake they did with born sinner lol
Their pre-debut graduation song (remake of Young , Wild and Free). ua-cam.com/video/sctrgmZ_JNM/v-deo.html There's also a version with English subtitles if you search
Thanks Linton, I learned something new: how to find names of famous painting. Oh yes, that Airplane you spotted is J-Hope's MV "Airplane" and a Sequel "Airplane 2".
Hobi has such an unique voice, we can definitely tell it's him whenever we hear him sing, thank you so much for the video, i'm enjoying it so much 😍💜👍🏻
I subbed ish-2hrs ago and ive been binging a bunch of your reaction vids. Really love how you interpret the MVs while you give out your thoughts on the lyrics, visual and the whole thing in general. Gotta say, its visible that you do this out of pure appreciation for the art and not for the hype ^^ - love that, keep it going : )
I actually think this song is about how he sometimes doesn't want to be famous and that he daydreams about what his life would've looked like if things were different. Lines like "I wanna cry in peace" or "Do what I want with my feelings every day" break my heart tbh
Great reaction :) I would only say that Hobi isnt a "learning rapper anymore" he started a year or two ( i dont remember this date) before the group debuted in 2013 so by the time this mixtape came out in 2018 he was an accomplished artist, producer and rapper of 7 or 8 years. He has always been involved in the writing process for their songs and has a lot of credits to his name. For sure he's improved and played around with styles over the years but thats just the nature of mastering a craft. You can always improve. I would say he gets credited as the "learning rapper" or the lesser one against the other two BECAUSE he's always experimenting and trying new styles, new flows, new avenues and it makes him super interesting. Suga and Rapmon are dope and they go hard in a lot of songs but JHope is just as capable. Check Hip Hop Lover, Boy Meets Evil, Baseline, 1Verse (theres so many more) of songs where he goes offfffffff
Thank you, I wanted to address that misconception as well. Both Suga and Jhope have been doing their thing for a long time, being penniless, busking on the street and wondering if they could afford some instant ramen for dinner. They are both experts in their fields and have helped each other out to improve Hobie's unique rap skills and turning Suga into a more than competent dancer (people who badmouth Suga's dancing need to be escorted outta the building asap).
J-Hope's singing voice is so comforting. I wish we could hear it showcased in more songs. About this song... The K-pop fan culture is such that idols (which is a job title, not the traditional meaning of "idol" in the West) are advised to always appear well-behaved and, especially, single - at least it's tacitly expected of them. Seeing idols at award shows is so awkward, haha - they have to be so careful (especially with male-female interaction); males and females especially will avoid making any eye contact unless they're bowing politely to each other in greeting. So to J-Hope, living the regular everyday life (emphasis: free from scrutiny) is just a daydream. He can't do anything anonymously. No such thing as harmless flirting, etc. I feel like a lot of other reactors misunderstand that verse where he says "So what (if) I get drunk, so what (if) I go out..."; IMO, he's not saying, I do these things without caring what people think, he's saying "let me give it a try myself" in a "Yeah, I wish!" kind of tone - like, that'll never happen, not while he's an idol.
Hey, I appreciate that you take your time to react to each individuell member, but I also want to remind you, that Jin has also a few very good solo songs. He often gets overlooked and it is really sad. So please don't forget him. :) Thank you.
so i just watched your butter reaction and i noticed you said their group work is more “fun” well although you did say you’re taking your time to get into the group properly i suggest you get into their deeper works cause many of the group works hold deep meaning. such as blood sweat and tears, spring day, pied pieper, home, fake love !!! omg the beauty behind fake love is truly amazing and breath taking including the music video, BLACK SWAN !!! the dark and beautiful aesthetic of black swan is AMAZING i truly recommend it. etc… i hope you have fun on this journey of uncovering bts and i hope you see they are more than just “fun” song, like butter and dynamite, and have deep songs other than their solos. many many MANY deep songs i love your videos
ok just watched more of your videos, i see you’ve reacted to bs&t also black swan. but i do recommend fake love and jimins solo - filter, also run and i need you. the deep meaning behind run is so beautiful
airplane is my favorite song on hope world i love the beat and feeling it gives me. hobi is unofficially the fifth member of the vocal line i dont feel like it’s talked about enough that he does many of the harmonies along with the other vocalist in bts songs you should check out their tiny desk performance his vocals in spring day are absolutely flawless i love his softer tone it’s so sweet also recommend reacting to the full version of blue side. he managed to make the track sound like three songs in one he also sings in a softer tone but make sure to read his note he wrote beforehand for some context
I missed the ‘young wild and free’ reference, but you missed the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy 😉. In the night sky when his phone name is Arthur and the message pops up ‘Don’t panic’. Your reactions are so insightful.
7:01 He learned to rap while trainee at BigHit, but he was still a teenager. He was accepted as a BigHit Entertainment trainee and moved to Seoul at the end of 2010 when he was 16 years old. Moreover, his style is unique from Namjoon and Yoongi. They all three rap so differently - the fact he learned how to rap doesn't mean it will have to be derivative, imitating anyone else's rap in the group. Right? He's a true artist, a musical genius, who feels music in his bones. It shows in his dance and in his voice, in his composition, lyricism and production. He has undeniable natural musical abilities and that combined with dedication and hard-work has fine-tuned this undeniably genius, all-around musical performer.
this. I don't understand why people make such a big deal of it that he started rapping a year or two later than others. He is naturally talented at it, he has passion for it, he has great skills as lyricist and mad skills while delivering live during concerts. A natural multi-talented guy who also is a hard worker and never stops to try to improve in all fields.
My favorite among his solos. Ego is the second one And your comment about background and lighting, that's also something even BTS is in awe of to their production team.
I love your reaction how you analyze the lyrics are amazing! It is both informative and enterny!! j-hope is one of the best lyricist i know and how he deliver it through rapping and singing is a whole meal. More power to your channel!
He's been rapping for more than decade now, it is time to stop this. He started maybe like 2 years after other rappers, has been writing his own verses for 10 years too (including pre-debut stuff like "Satoori Rap" from 2011 and his featured part/verse in Jo-Kwon's "Animal" from 2012). Are you equally amazed at Tupac how he became a great rapper, being a ballet dancer prior to his rapper career? Or this patronizing approach is only meant when it comes to j-hope because he started from dancing?
j-hope’s lyrics are definitely full of raw emotion, he isn’t scared to wear his heart on his sleeve just so that others going through similar things find strength and people not aware understand the struggle. Dis-ease is another great example of j-hope’s emotional awareness and ability to translate it into lyrics.
At 8:15 the message that JHope gets from Arthur on his phone is also a reference to the book "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy"! It follows Arthur Dent basically as the world ends, and digging deeper is all about the conflicting feeling of happiness over meaninglessness. I think the song and the book definitely have similar themes :) idk if anybody has pointed this out yet lol
the airplane appeared on several of their MVs.. ig it's like the representation of their career.. it's first seen on their Young Forever MV where it's about to fly, ig the next it appeared on their Fire MV where it's flying, then their IDOL MV, it's still flying and it's like enjoying the wind, and then in Dynamite, it's about to land.. and on Butter, it landed... (idk if these were the exact sequence, ARMY pls correct me if it's not accurate, thanks 😊) also, Hobi have a song called Airplane and BTS made a pt 2 of it...
I've watched a few of your BTS commentary videos now and have come to really appreciate your inquisitive mind. That thirst for knowledge - for the pure excitement of comprehension - is so infectious! I feel galvanized by your need to understand. Thank you so much for continuing to share your insights!
Absolutely, j-hope didn't shy away from difficult topics. JITB continues to delve into difficult topics. I love his songs and themes. I'm seeing a huge discussion on TikTok and Daydream regarding maladaptive daydreaming which is great to see.
One little detail... when he's sitting on the bed in space and his phone gets a notification from Arthur that says "Don't Panic". That's a nod to "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams. If you haven't read the Hitchhiker's series, I strongly recommend it. Douglas Adams wrote comedy with so much intelligence.
In this song, Jhope is daydreaming about the things he'd like to do that he can't as an idol (ex: crying when he wants, going out to party, having a relationship openly) so it's a bit different from your interpretation. But thank you for searching that painting! I learned something new and had never even noticed it before! Love your reactions and am subscribing!
That cut transition you are talking about with the bed is called 'cutting on the movement', since it cuts in the middle of J-hope's movement, falling onto the bed. It's almost a match-cut but not quite. It would need to be framed the same way scene-to-scene to be a match-cut, and I would say about 80% of the time, match cuts are used between two still frames. The director and editors for BTS' music videos are very good at planning out their edits ahead of time and they love to cut on the movement as well as use match-cuts to make the transitions clean :)

He can sing!!! You can hear his singing voice in a lot of bts choruses I recommend listening to Blue Side the full version with lyrics he sings and raps, it’s such a poetic song
As always great reactions i love them!! yes he does sing and you will hear him sing later the more you dive into BTS so no rush there i know you'll get to hear him sing eventually 😁 so the song is called Daydream cause these are the things he daydreams about that he can do one day without worry but because he's an idol and part of the biggest band in the world he cant do all these things and he wants to, but the reality is he honestly cant so instead he just daydreams about it!!! But love going on this journey with you 😁😁
I like how your so knowledgeable about a lot of different topics that have nothing to do with each cause I be super surprised to hear how much you know and how even in videos you go searching for more knowledge and understanding.
I know I'm more geeky than most but I'm still always disappointed when people miss the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy reference on his phone when he's sitting on his bed in space.
You should watch mama if you have the time, it's a song from j hope :) (but we should all listen to every song from every bts members, they are so talented and unique) 💜
Everything you say about BTS is truth. It's one of the reasons they are universal. They always knew they wanted to share their passion with the world, little did they know all those years ago that they would make such an impact in this world, not just with their music, but their inspirational messages of self love and hope. They became seven unintentional beacons of light. The beautiful thing about that is even with their own internal fears of falling short at moments they've embraced their calling. They face their fears and sshare their vulnerabilities with ARMY. They pull strength from us as much as they give us strength. They've created not just a fanbase, but a family. I will forever be grateful for them. (BTW, the transition is called a match cut)💜💜💜🤟💜💜💜
Ur really my favourite reactor, U really smart. And how did i never noticed that Painting😑😅. Thank u for sharing your words. U doing great. Looking forward for more bts videos.🤙👍👏(no pressure 😅>
yes he can sing actually !! he's considered the sub-vocalist in the group which basically means he partly sings in songs but is still ultimately a rapper. he has a very beautiful voice. and y e s he has a very deep voice as well haha
I think you should watch the 3 songs from rapline. Shadow by suga, persona by rm and ego by jhope with that order. I love them all but i think ego is best song by jhope so far ^^ shadow is mindblowing too
Jhope is a subvocal as well as a rapper (he initially joined the group to be a vocal and V was meant to be the rapper but they swapped). His rap style is very rhythmic, which might have to do with his pro dancer background. Cos I always feel the spirit if his dance through his flow, if that makes sense.
Reminder that the video is timecoded meaning you are able to skip to your favorite parts of the video!

5:48 bts actually did a cover of that song also very happy you saw this song i LOVE LOVE this song so much
My favorite among his solos. Ego is the second one
And your comment about background and lighting, that's also something even BTS is in awe of to their production team.
J-hope is so honest with his music, his lyrics are like a window into his mind and soul. I love him so much.
I love your reaction how you analyze the lyrics are amazing! It is both informative and enterny!! j-hope is one of the best lyricist i know and how he deliver it through rapping and singing is a whole meal. More power to your channel!
Finally!!! I’ve been waiting for this. What a beautiful and talented man he is. 🥰😍❤️
Now we need Jhope’s Airplane reaction ! 💜💜💜
my mind always explode with your reviews, i love how deep you get with their lyrics and videos
I amazed by how JHope can be so good in rap while he just learn it when trainee time. This is my fav song of JHope.
I love ur reaction... BTS and specifically j-hope is just so talented and super cool. His musicallity just wow....
You should definitely check out the rest of his EP Hope World!!! Love your reactions as always
j-hope’s lyrics are definitely full of raw emotion, he isn’t scared to wear his heart on his sleeve just so that others going through similar things find strength and people not aware understand the struggle.
Dis-ease is another great example of j-hope’s emotional awareness and ability to translate it into lyrics.
i love your reactions! and i love BTS. greetings from Tricity in Poland! this song is so amazing! and I Love J'Hope's voice!
the transition you are referring to is a match cut. the entire hope world album is fun to listen to. glad you are enjoying it!
That transition is called a match cut
At 8:15 the message that JHope gets from Arthur on his phone is also a reference to the book "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy"! It follows Arthur Dent basically as the world ends, and digging deeper is all about the conflicting feeling of happiness over meaninglessness. I think the song and the book definitely have similar themes :) idk if anybody has pointed this out yet lol
JHOPE has reached Global Rick Star Status . He has the most beautiful voice and he can change his voice freaken amazing ❤️❤️❤️❤️
the airplane appeared on several of their MVs.. ig it's like the representation of their career.. it's first seen on their Young Forever MV where it's about to fly, ig the next it appeared on their Fire MV where it's flying, then their IDOL MV, it's still flying and it's like enjoying the wind, and then in Dynamite, it's about to land.. and on Butter, it landed...
(idk if these were the exact sequence, ARMY pls correct me if it's not accurate, thanks 😊)
also, Hobi have a song called Airplane and BTS made a pt 2 of it...
Okay you looking up that painting was really cool, I didn't know that either!! So freaking cool
Outro: tear - bts's rapline live performance (engsub) with dior's Outfit. It's so so fire
theres also a reference "dont panic" from the book "hitchhikers guide to the galaxy"
Douglas Adams wrote comedy with so much intelligence.
i love this song so much energy ❤
J hope can sing... Congrats feels like you found your bias
Thanks for react to my friends ‘BTS’

I just subbed to your channel today and I love it. I've watched a bunch of your videos already. You have a great energy. Keep up the good work.💜
Great take and comments about the cycle of life regarding money, our happiness and, of course, how Jhope expresses that so well here!!
I love his singing voice.
He can sing!!! You can hear his singing voice in a lot of bts choruses I recommend listening to Blue Side the full version with lyrics he sings and raps, it’s such a poetic song
Ohhh u gotta hear Jhope Just Dance then and watch his London Live oohh you would 💘that one
Match-cut! I love that transition a lot!
thank you for your content💕
have a nice day everyone
💜
As always great reactions i love them!! yes he does sing and you will hear him sing later the more you dive into BTS so no rush there i know you'll get to hear him sing eventually 😁 so the song is called Daydream cause these are the things he daydreams about that he can do one day without worry but because he's an idol and part of the biggest band in the world he cant do all these things and he wants to, but the reality is he honestly cant so instead he just daydreams about it!!! But love going on this journey with you 😁😁
The airplane is an homage to Jhope's other single called "Airplane" Please check out the MV!!!
I literally in love with your content
00:01 She's cute 😍 i don't mind you're doing the reaction together
I like how your so knowledgeable about a lot of different topics that have nothing to do with each cause I be super surprised to hear how much you know and how even in videos you go searching for more knowledge and understanding.
Can’t wait for Hope World 2!
Please react to Blue Side and Hangsang by Jhope! 💙
You should watch j-hope - 1VERSE 😩👌
I know I'm more geeky than most but I'm still always disappointed when people miss the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy reference on his phone when he's sitting on his bed in space.
Nice to see someone else notice this
yh the plane at the end is from his song airplane. You should also react to airpalne pt2 (bts)
9:00 I think it's called a match cut :)
A learn a lot watching this video, thank you!
Funny how he references the song that later (after bts re-wrote the lyrics) became graduation
Loved this!!
Listen to Airplane by J-hope for Hope World as well. Thats what the airplane connect to haha. Also listen to Outro: Ego!!!
The scene transition is called a 'match cut'
The into tho 🤣
Bts actually did a cover on SnoopDogs song, they changed the lyrics to be about graduating.
yes he can sing actually !! he's considered the sub-vocalist in the group which basically means he partly sings in songs but is still ultimately a rapper. he has a very beautiful voice. and y e s he has a very deep voice as well haha
the plane is from j hope's another solo song *airplane*
I think you should watch the 3 songs from rapline. Shadow by suga, persona by rm and ego by jhope with that order. I love them all but i think ego is best song by jhope so far ^^ shadow is mindblowing too
Oh i just checked you already reacted to shadow. You should react to persona and ego too because they are linked by the map of the soul
literally J-DOPE
finally, someone who goes through the lyrics 😭
Jhope is a subvocal as well as a rapper (he initially joined the group to be a vocal and V was meant to be the rapper but they swapped). His rap style is very rhythmic, which might have to do with his pro dancer background. Cos I always feel the spirit if his dance through his flow, if that makes sense.
