The context of #6 (2:02) is that the Marth player is Mew2King, and the title of the video is "Mew2King Mindgames Like A Shark" (hence the Jaws music).
The description of the video:
"Basically, I referred to m2k's marth as a shark to fox, because once fox is grabbed he's done (I was sitting next to him during this match). So I started making the shark noise from jaws as soon as he decided to go for another fox chain grab, and he laughed so hard he couldn't finish the match.: -ephoenix6"
When the pause happens, there was an annotation on the screen that said "[Insert laughing a lot here]"

The ones where the player pauses many times in a row are just annoying to watch, they aren't funny in any way.
FishamanP The Sheik one was pretty scummy in my opinion, it wasn't for humour or emphasis, it was just exploiting a way to see which direction they were rolling for better tech chases.
PaulusCunctator he was trying to proof that even with all these pauses you can still play braindead tech chases with sheik. Player 3 was making the pauses.
ChurroEmiliano The Sheik was pausing at the beginning, and you can buffer inputs by pausing, instead of accidentally walking or turning around when you meant to dash. Pausing actually makes it easier in a situation like that.
***** It's funny how you guys don't know the background of ZeRo vs M2K. They were testing out a new program that showed a virtual GC Controller and which buttons were being pressed and they were literally pressing every button possible for the program. So it wasn't a tournament match. They were just screwing around.

can someone explain to me the pause forfeit rule? like my understanding is if you pause, you forfeit the match, but well then you get these cases which I can only explain that they're being good sports.
Jason Yang When you pause, your opponent can force you to forfeit a stock (Lose a life), not lose the match. You can pause legally if you're on the platform (Respawn platform)
You only give up your stock if the opponent enforces that rule though. Most people don't enforce it because it seems kind of jerkish.
Jason Yang It also depends on the situation during which the pause occurred. If something like what's happening in #9 or #7 is going on, it's obviously giving someone an advantage, whereas if someone's controller accidentally came unplugged or the TV got turned off but the game was still running, pausing is just common courtesy, and you're being unsportsmanlike if you demand the stock penalty for it.

Actually players do have control over the victory animation, after the screen says "GAME" the winning player can hold a direction on the D-Pad to choose which one they want
TOP 10 CHARGE SHOT COMBOS.... include Samus, Mewtwo, Rob, even Sheik, I suppose. All clips should display CRAZY combos ending with or including a charged projectile. It would be hype.

the prof vs rolex pause is seriously one of the most hilarious moments in all of smash. every time it's in one of these videos, i have to rewatch it like 4 times. it cracks me up so much.
I remember when my bro and I were smashing, and while he was getting rekt, I paused and panned the camera to the right while trying to find where the rekking was happening, and Deoxys' face filled the whole screen and spooked us. And then we started laughing profusely and now it is an inside joke between us.

TheVader2 Rules wise, you can make your opponent Forfeit a stock, but a lot of people don't really enforce it unless the pauser is being an ass. For disrespect purposes and to hype the crowd, people can sometimes get away with it. Some of these are also not tournament matches.

I recall hearing a story about a Brawl tournament where Logic played a Shiek, and that the Shiek player got an USmash and killed Olimar and accidentally hit pause on his controller, but had he not it would have still turned out the same. Logic went ballistic and got the Shiek player disqualified for the pause.
I'm not actually sure if it is completely true but I don't think that the first pause in this is really fitting as it is more demoralizing and depressing than funny given this context.
