Invisible Shadow yeah man, all their stuff is masterfully done and Believe in Nothing is no exception. imho PL are pioneers in whatever they decide to do and they have been since Gothic. I don't really think of the softer stuff (Believe - Host - Symbol) as "pop" i just wrote it as such because that's what the haters like to call it ;) yeah you know who you are...(points a finger into the crowd) i agree with you on not needing to label music by genre - sure radically differing types of music should have "names" so we can easily let someone else know what we are talking about but some people just take it too far and flame wars ensues, is "Genre Nazis" a thing? anyway if music makes you feel good inside, no matter what its called you should turn it up to max and wake the neighbors \m/ music worth losing yourself in transcends all genre peace
@gloomylex This is absurd, PL's music has never been pop music, and even though they had a different approach in their sound with One Second, Host and Believe In Nothing, their sound and their songs were always enjoyed by only a select few. If it takes balls to play metal, it takes really huge balls to change your sound and risk losing your fans in the sake of progress. And that's why we love Paradise Lost and EVERYTHING they've done.-
My last regret.. I could have made him happy. I had the most amazing guy in love with me , and all I did was try to push him away, until he finally left, 8 years later 8 years I can't give him back :'( it's not his fault I am so messed up :'(
@FixxxerZ7 Totally agree.I also think that Host is one of their best albums.My take on the shift of labels:it was that anybody who listened PL knew that were something really special and wanted to see them "go places".There were always this push,to go further to expand.The change of looks and label is not really important, because they remained the same musically.Why they came back?Because they were loosing the gap too much and wanted to continue to do what they love:making music.
@lerat0 they changed record companies for a while... they were with Sony for some years and they tried to change them into making "pop" songs. Then afterwards they abandoned Sony and went back to independent record companies and the old sound was back.

Also, their most recent stuff, like their 2-3 last albums are EXACTLY what the fans want, so how is that more sincere than a great risk and a change in sound?
