Building A Basic Cedar Planter Box

My mother requested a cedar planter box for her garden and I came up with this simple build to meet her needs. It was made from a single 2"x4"x8' cedar board and a few cedar fence pickets. An easy afternoon build.

Good basic design. Ripping down 2x4 material is cheaper and allows you to cut around knots.
I would suggest putting all the pocket holes facing down so that water and dirt don't go into the holes.
Maybe add some top trim or a bevel to the ends of the side slats to dress it up.
