Hey Rob, in michigan i know youve mentioned many times no check valve on outdoor sump pump system. But i am seeing in alot of videos guys drilling a small hole on the pvc pipe closest to the sump pump itself. Is this necessary ?m
It's only necessary if you use a check valve. Without a check valve, it would be completely pointless and useless.

If you have large puddles accumulating surface water, you should put a basin in every low point. If you go to my homepage, I have different playlists, and one is about French drain and yard drain combinations.

Nice, but to me the original one is fine. The other ones are overkill. If you keep up on maintenance and clean it out you don't need the real big ones.
