Germaine was my neighbor in Yellowknife in 1999, I took a bunch of the Toonies and put them in cardboard/cellophane coin protectors, and got her to sign them to give out as Christmas gifts. She signed them in English and Syllabics! I still have couple of them, no mules though. Yes, I gave her some of them too.
I have saved soo many coins over the years...from Quarters, loonies and toonies. It is something my father and I enjoyed doing...everytime a new one was sent into circulation... now I have no idea what to do with them ALL??? Any thoughts...i did buy some sleeves to put some in... after watching a few of your shows...like those discolored toonies. Thanks for your knowledge...seems I have to get my magnifying glass out and clean some of them up...hiw do I preseeve the integrity of coins?
I have been collecting coins for a very long time, I have a 1999 Nunavut Toonie that was struck offset, any idea on what one like that would be valued at.
I actually have the regular nunavut toonie, so how i got it is like i went to my near pharmacy/snack store (rexall), i brought some chips amd then they gave me a change of two dollars. Little i didnt know that the 2 dollar was the nunavut. I found this out just today. Pretty cool that i now have a coin worth more than a 1000 dollars lol
I just found one I couldn't believe it I was going through a roll I just bought from the bank & I said to myself wouldn't it be awesome if I found a Nunavut coin. Crazy, then the next day I was going through the loonies I bought & you won't believe this but I found 2 Terry Fox coins & I said the same thing it would be nice if I found a Terry Fox coin & bam 2 of them.
I have 2. Mine come in a case in a hard plastic capsule to protect the coin. The pamphlet it comes wuth sayz the center is 14k plating over ss and the outter rim is 100% ss.

I don't know if the one I have is a mule, there is one side where it's raised and half that's not.
