Thank you! Yes, I'm a little obsessed with costumes and so is Tiny Whitney, she tends to like the same things as I do! lol Thank you for the compliments!
Loved this project!! I’ve picked up a couple of vintage pieces that I want to turn into room boxes as well. An old gutted clock for one that is cool looking. ❤
oh for sure! The problem with loving minis is that you begin to see the whole world in the tiny way and it keeps you from being ablate throw out stuff because it could be used for something else! lol can you say hoarder!!!!
I'm so happy to read that! There was so much to make for this room! You wouldn't think so being that it's only about 5 x 9 inches, but here we are! lol
Cute! Love all the accessories. The knobs turned out amazing to finish off the piece. What an adorable project to display! Looking forward to Back to the Future room!
yeah how great that I had those little knobs and they were the perfect size! It was meant to be. Im really looking forward to staring the BTTF room too! Great hearing from you as always!
Oh thank you! My grandmas house had so many great MCM pieces and I remember just feeling like I was traveling back in time when I would visit her and I loved it so much! I would sleep in her bed and she had these two HUGE lamps on either side with these bright red shades , it gave the room the warm red glow that I loved!
@@WhitneyLaBrie I got a stinking cold from my eldest son as a birthday present 🎁 apart from that my week has been uneventful lol 😆 enjoy your day off xx
It looks great!! Tiny Whitney needs to do the twist! I love the cats & the record player and table. I lived through the mid-century, and I think that style is gawd-awful!!! 😂 But I'm glad you love it, and it's fun to see all the miniatures you made for it! Plus the radio box is super awesome!!! ❤
OMG Yass my mom says the same thing. She told me "I have no idea why you love that look so much, I hated it as a kid!" Sometimes I feel I was born in the wrong decade! I really loved making these minis for this MCM space!

Yes I was watching that auction! I didn't bid though..It went for quite a bit! How fun were the colors in this room! Oh I just love fun bright colors, they bring so much happiness to my heart! Thank you Kathleen!
@@WhitneyLaBrieThose retro bright colors …. happy mood changers for sure! There is still a Princess Petite dollhouse TV (on its original stand) up for auction - 5 days left as of this writing. Currently it’s at 20.50 plus small shipping charge. I don’t mean to bug you about it - just wanted you to know in case you hadn’t seen it. Enjoy the weekend! Kathleen
Oh that would be so so fun to recreate! I have a mini friend Bridget McCarty, she is on instagram. She did the Seinfeld apartment in mini, it was pretty awesome!
OMG Vicki! I love you so much!!!! lol....yes it does need a martini! I have another kit, it's a dry bar and so I'll be making some drinks and I will for sure add one to this room box!
Oh that’s a nice finish indeed! Mid 20th century ashtrays are brilliant tributes to an otherwise scary atomic age. there is a classic one, owned by my grandparents,it’s gotta be 16 inches long,a crazy triangle,it now resides at an uncles house in California. A stunning mid 20th house came up for sale in my hood,it is incredible, but I resisted making a bid, because it has those infamously low angled roofs,a recipe for water damage in my part of the country. Ohh but it’s amazing, never updated,it’s even got one of those massively wide stonework fireplaces. Hi,Tiny Whitney! Please save a dance for me,pencil me in😅
oh I wish I lived in a true mid century house. Mine was built in 84, totally happy with an 80s house, but I've been slowly curating treasures from the MCM eras and replacing things in the house. the dance is saved!
Oh I know, the grapes, I found those in an antique store..one grape was missing so it was only $14! I just manipulated the remaining grapes and no one will ever know...well until now! lmao
Loving this whole scene. It makes me want to say "how groovy". The picture of the real record player reminds me of my childhood, when my dad brought one home. Loving this.
My father built a stereo system himself. When I was a kid I remember a salesperson coming to the house to sell us a new stereo But they didn't have anything that sounded better than what we already had. So we kept it.
I grew up with mid century modern. I think my mom still has a stereo/record player duo that we used to listen to Partridge Family records on. Too cute. Thanks for the memories.
OOOOh I'm jealous! My parents did have a stereo/record player but it was a 70's version and had an eight track player which I remember they thought was so high tech! I have no idea what ever happened to that! I'm happy you enjoyed the trip down memory lane, thank you so much for watching!
My grandma was very fashionable and trendy. I remember she had these two very ornate red and gold huge lamps on either side of her bed. She had this red velvet feeling blanket and huge red rose painting above her bed. This was the early 80's and I loved sleeping in there when I was a kid, thinking back it looked like what I imagine a bordello to look like! lol, but then it was pretty stylish!
You blew this out of the park! How stinking adorable! Love all the mcm projects, and love your creativity. Now i am searching foran old radio...lol. You are the best!!! 😊

I LOVE IT ALL! ❤ You did such an amazing job with everything! The clock and the planter- WOW! The record player! It's all so wonderfully atomic. Speaking of.. love your mcm atomic bowl you mixed your paint in😍 My home is not mid century but I do have a fab mid century starburst clock I bought at a garage sale in my neighborhood for $3!✨🩷✨🩷🥰
yes you noticed the bowl! Yes I bought that in an antique store in a small beach town in CA. I look everywhere for more, on occasion I do see a piece here and there on eBay but they always want an arm and a leg! You got a steal on that clock! Those are the deals I live for!
Sometimes I make things and then later regret doing it cause I had so much fun that I just know I'm going to make more, where do I store all these creations! lol
The little turntable is so awesome. I love me some vinyl! Even though it’s not really my style I think it’s a great idea for that radio and it turned out looking very realistic and era appropriate. I wasn’t around for the 50s but a lot of those elements hung around in so many houses for years and you captured the vibe perfectly. I’m still low key jealous of your stash 😂 Take care xx
The stash is out of control and has taken many years to curate and yet I still find I don't have the item I need! lol..it never ends Cassandra! It's funny, I find I am very drawn to the mid century looks and often feel I maybe was born in the wrong decade! Oh well, I'll just pretend through my minis! Hope you are have a great 2024 so far!
Excellent! Very nice job. I was born in 1950 so I had seen this type of furniture around me growing up. Usually it was the younger, unmarried "cool" people who furnished their NYC apartments this way. That Danish minimalist furniture style you have in your miniature room wasn't practical for a family with kids. The sofas and chairs, with their hard foam cushions and wood frames, were so uncomfortable. But I really loved the teak Cado wall units from that era. Today, they cost a fortune.
slowly over the years I have been decorating in this style, I am so drawn to it, I think I like how it connects to the past but also has a modern feel. I did have a real MCM sofa but sold it due to the exact reason you stated, too uncomfortable for really relaxing in the living room! The wall units, oh yes, gorgeous!
This whole room is just perfect! You nailed everything! Everything you did was my favorite until you did the next thing, and then that became the favorite😂 You are just so talented and so creative!
