I’m super behind on your videos but wanted to say congrats on the move! I found your channel when I was living in Silver Spring, MD for five years. Last summer I moved back home to the Seattle area from Silver Spring and had to drive my cat across the country. He’d been on many flights between Seattle and Oakland when I was in college and he flew out to MD from Seattle with me but we got to experience a six day road trip which was not fun for anyone. Glad Leo made it through the flight ok and is settling in well! I hope you enjoy SF, the west coast truly is the best! 😄

oh my god I've been through this hell. did the uhaul box from virginia to texas AFTER i tried the uhaul attached to a jeep and drive across th ecountry from new york, only made it to virginia and had to stop and unpack and start all over. and now 1.5 years later i'm watching your vlog because i'm strongly considering moving to dc area. would make #5 cross country move. GOOD LORD it is so much harder than any other move going from busy city to busy city. kudos!
@@amyrauch planning a move again in the spring, prefer dc but will probably end up in ny (for the third time). I previously moved from nyc to Sf then back to nyc (then Austin and now who knows) but strongly suggest for cross country moves: amtrak shipping. You can pack boxes and ship them on a passenger train for a fee. Great for reducing and prioritizing for a move and it’s so cheap!
i believe it was called gabapentin, it honestly didnt work great. he never fully fell asleep and i had to give him triple the dose that the vet recommended (with the vets permission of course) to get him to fully chill out but he made it in one piece LOL
I’ve used gabapentin with my cat as well, and I had the same experience. Mine only chilled out for about an hour and went right back to chaos. A higher dose might have helped though
@@klincolnz yeah thats exactly what happened with us!! i found at around 3.5 ml over 2 hours he finally chilled for real but never fell asleep. i tripled checked w my vet it was okay to give him that much for his weight bc i was soooo paranoid of overdosing him hahaha

yes! will touch on all of this in an upcoming video but he was drugged and i upgraded us to try to make him as comfortable as possible
