    I first started reselling in my 20s. But then university, life and everything took over. I restarted reselling again in my 40s. I have to tell you. In your 40s, we just stop caring about people's opinions of us. We want independence. We just realized that the only opinion that matters is the one we have of ourselves. I love these videos.

    Hey, Mel great video. When doing your videos, whether long or short talk when you want to talk. Walk away from the camera. Do what you have to do and come back and don't worry about it if you're gonna do any work with me videos. The whole point is. We're supposed to be with you while you're working, so we don't want you to be making up videos when you got stuff to do and the subject was good and applicable. Everything you said was true and on point. Thanks for content.👍🇨🇦

    Love these types of videos Mel! My confidence dips when sales drop off. I list consistently and when I have no stock, I end relist while adjusting the price. I list good quality items but sometimes it’s just the environment of the world right now, being after Xmas and new years. I keep going because I know it will kick off eventually! Keep hustling and listing!

    • @backfromburnout
      @backfromburnout  20 днів тому +2

      Technsports always says "where not in business for a day". The sales will dip up and down but it's how they all even out. But as resellers whose income can dip, it's important to have some extra money saved in the business account for those times when it's lower.

    Hi Mel! Loved the mills and boon bundles ! And I don’t read romance and I am in the USA 🤣. FYI, the first bundle you did on this video, you took out a duplicate but your first photo of the stack had the double in it. I don’t want you to have a wrong description in case someone says there were not enough. Keep the 5 star rating!

    I love (and prefer) your work with me videos. Chat as little or much as you want. I'd happily watch a live stream of you doing photos or pick and pack work. Live streams would mean no editing for you and they needn't be live/interactive Q&A sessions. You could perhaps include answers to questions from the comments section etc while you chat. I do miss your live streams! Just watching the first few minutes of this video so far has me motivated to photograph some stock which is the part of listing I loathe.
    Sourcing and road trips vidoes etc are less interesting to me simply because this aspect of reselling is so specific to one's location, however I appreciate lots of people love them and I always let them play through to help clock up the views. But the packing videos and seeing what sold and for how much is something that can resonate for all Australian sellers.
    Great to see you back on air and into the swing of things again ♥

Also pick and pack when you give the prices. I'm an avid reader and used to work in the media section of a Salvation Army, so I get such a thrill as you're looking through books. I loved this video. I was actually shopping on e-bay when you were talking. I watched intently the for 35 minutes on how you were packaging the books and then I listened to your Mel Talk and when you started doing the gardening books I started watching again. I AGREE ON THE CONFIDENCE ISSUE. I am prior military and without confidence there is no way I would not have been eaten alive by other members if I had not been so tough/confident. I still am confident to this day at age 71 and I also am an E-Bay seller for 3 years now - it flew by. My shop is to keep my brain working and not necessarily for income since I am retired from the government. So YAY MEL - ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO!!!! THANK YOU!! Your videos brighten my day.

    So I'm a professional engineer. Alot of times I am asked to give young engineers advice. I always tell them to learn to be confident. For me having confidence is not being afraid to speak up and admit when you don't know something and to ask for help. Never pretend you know something you don't because you are afraid to admit you don't know it. Be confident and speak up, learn, etc. People respect you more for that than pretending. 90% of the time they'll know anyway. Also when interviewed alot of times people will ask what is your biggest strength, and I always say my confidence. I'm confident enough in myself to not be afraid to ask and speak up and admit when I don't know something. Engineers have such a reputation for being arrogant, etc. So when operators or maintenance staff (I work in water and wastewater) realize I am willing to admit I don't know everything and I will ask and listen, they respect that (and frankly feel respected themselves). This has helped me so much, I can't even measure it.

    • @mariecorbin4935
      @mariecorbin4935 20 днів тому

    Lol 😂. I am also expanding my eBay business and working so so hard and so tired through quarter 4. Ive had to rework my home office and warehouse space so many times while also managing everyday family life. I’m rooting for you Mel. Its like if Mel can do it so can I. But you really made me laugh today because when you said sometimes its a real sh@t show in here I so laughed… I literally was in my office thinking the same about my business today. You go girl! We can do this. Thanks for sharing your struggles and your successes.

    Love this video, everything is bang on! Maybe you need a staff member, but maybe you don’t... there’s pluses and minuses, if you keep it solo you keep all the profits, I’m growing my business but only to as much I can do solo, I want to keep control of it and there are so many on costs hiring people, they would make more than me. You do you 🙂

    Hi Mel! Love watching how you're working. It's probably helpful for you, too, to get other people's thoughts on your processes and workflow 🤩
    How are you getting on with the stock take? Would love to see any issues that you've found and how you're moving over to the new skew system.. Keep up the good work x 😍

    I can relate. Coming from another burnout champion, please be careful not to overdo it with doubling your sales. A lot can be said for gradual growth, I have had some spectacular burnouts after setting the bar too high 😅

    Thanks for the videos. This is another great one, it was very encouraging with good advice in becoming more confident. You’re right, it is just repetition. I have a question, do you find that the heat in the warehouse affect the books? I am a small reseller with about 300 items in my store and I am hesitant to move them into my garage because of the heat. I would love to get your opinion. Thanks again!

    Hello! I've always wondered if you erase the inside of the bundles before you wrap them together? When I've watched your packing videos I never see you undo them before putting them in the mailer. Weird question, I know. ❤😂😂😂❤

    • @backfromburnout
      @backfromburnout  21 день тому +1

      It's a great question! Yes I do! (occasionally I do forget though on the bundles but I try not to lol). Before the bundles are bought over to the photo table to photograph I erase the pencil normally on the packing bench. On my new prep area I have put a little caddy with erasers, scissors, pens and stuff so I can do it there on the prep table. It's also another reason bundles take longer. It's much easier to photograph individual books.

    would the brown shelves be good to use as your mills and boon inventory, it keeps them all in one area and easy to find for pick and pack? you could put it on the outside of the office wall next to the little area that was going to be the toilet.
