Very long story short: if you're driving a car with the crash-worthiness of a piece of aluminum foil, then any reckless behavior on the road is you taking your life into your own hands. I love those timeless cars from an era before safety regulations saw everything grow large, bloated, and heavy, but I realize that driving such a thing means to saddle yourself with the responsibility for your own life in a way that modern cars shield us from. its crazy, because here in cali, at the jack ranch cafe, they have a memorial for james dean there. every year on the 30th of September they hold a get together to talk about james dean. guys show up in replica 550 spyders and take you up the road where the accident happened. they also point out on the drive the position of the sun and all this other information. super erie to drive that road on that day and at that time.
James Dean was only crushed about his mom's passing and moving away from his dad. He was not crushed to leave Santa Monica nor was he crushed to have to live in Fairmount, Indiana. He quickly adapted to life in Indiana and visited four times after he moved away from Indiana.
Felonius Gru ..It shouldn’t be about making fun of “purists”, it’s all about saying the FAMILY NAME correctly. You pronounce it with a “ah” sound at the end because it’s being respectful to Mr. Ferdinand Porsche and his family.
Jeremy Sims That’s not how you say it, the “ah” sound at the end is the correct way to say it. It’s a family name, I think Ferdinand Porsche knew how to pronounce his own fucking name.🙄
Fantastic job Roman!! This is one of my favorite automotive stories, almost certainly my favorite. The man was a myth and a legend and everything surrrounding his short stint in the public eye gets a lot of detail searched for. Reality is I think in general people want to put more into the Little Bastard story purely because there is just so little there, the same as with James Dean, people want to read more into his life and career(s) because he was so young and the World didn't have enough of him. In reality it was a million little details that led to his untimely death and there is no way of rationalize it.
When the story couldn't possibly get any weirder, The Roman throw's us a Private investigator with two prosthetic arms.....Keep these docs coming, I feel like im reading Vonnegut with all these crazy characters.
This is an absolutely amazing video! I’d known of the accident but I never knew the story behind the car, and I love that it’s still out there somewhere.
Hmm, it's one thing to pronounce the name of the car company incorrectly, but you should get it right when you're talking about the man. See every doc about Andrew Carnegie for examples.
Yes, I know. I was trying to be constructive in my criticism. It's one thing to say "hey my pronunciation of a car company is wrong, but that's how we say it in , so deal with it", it's another thing to talk about a specific individual, and pronounce their name wrong.
+Jason Gotcha. _You_ get it. It still amazes me that so many do not. It's such a simple thing to pronounce an easily pronounceable name correctly. Yet so many don't. I suppose it's just sheer ignorance. We can educate though and will continue to do so.
Well done Sir. The Little Bastard was shown at a Blackie Gejian Autorama. It was a real draw. Sunny Fortune and I attended the Autorama as young teenagers and looked at the LB more than the other cars. Blackie and Barris were hye buddies and designed the Ala Kart which was owned by Richard Peters of Fresno.

Thank you, Roman! Your stories are great listening and I especially love the story of James Dean and the cursed Porsche. Little did I know about the rumor of his car hiding in my county. Keep it up!
People complaining about the pronunciation of Porsche and I am sitting here laughing at Paso Roe Bless.
Frank Smith same lmao
I'm not sure if his Death Car was Cursed. But it is Kinda weird so much death connected to 1 car
TIL T-Pain's birthday.
1st time to see and here about this icon and now its the new year if not for this phone i would not know what happened. To him i was only a little boy!!!
Roman, this was awesome. Thank you for putting this out there. I didn't mind the length at all. Good stuff, Keep it up!!
That curse is now on you...due to the way you say Porsche. Come on man!
No shit. Makes you wonder about anything and everything he says if he cannot even get that basic fact correct.
Who the fuck cares. Jesus Christ.....
@@Dead_ham He probably doesn't care either!
its crazy, because here in cali, at the jack ranch cafe, they have a memorial for james dean there. every year on the 30th of September they hold a get together to talk about james dean. guys show up in replica 550 spyders and take you up the road where the accident happened. they also point out on the drive the position of the sun and all this other information.
super erie to drive that road on that day and at that time.
Dude! I have a tattoo of the little bastard on my arm.
Breaking News: Man's arm ripped off during horrific accident
Matthew Wiley good luck
Another great one Roman. Keep them coming. They are informative and enjoyable.
Is it jus me or does James Franco look a lot like James Dean?
eMAN No, he doesn’t it...not at all.🙄
James Dean was only crushed about his mom's passing and moving away from his dad. He was not crushed to leave Santa Monica nor was he crushed to have to live in Fairmount, Indiana. He quickly adapted to life in Indiana and visited four times after he moved away from Indiana.
I seriously think you should pronounce it "Porch" just to really annoy the purists.
They probably say Jag-u-wire too.
Felonius Gru ..It shouldn’t be about making fun of “purists”, it’s all about saying the FAMILY NAME correctly. You pronounce it with a “ah” sound at the end because it’s being respectful to Mr. Ferdinand Porsche and his family.
it makes me sad that these don't get as many views. I'm always looking forward to these stories. Keep it up Roman!
dude, thats how you say porsche,
not your fault most of your country men seem to say porsch-ya
Jeremy Sims That’s not how you say it, the “ah” sound at the end is the correct way to say it. It’s a family name, I think Ferdinand Porsche knew how to pronounce his own fucking name.🙄
This kind of content is pure gold. Please keep them coming!
Sexual abuse in Hollywood is a major problem. It wouldn't surprise me if he was abused

Guys named Donald T. ruining everything.
I ask a Republican all the time: "Can missiles slaughter millions on U.S. soil? You voted to find out."
When the story couldn't possibly get any weirder, The Roman throw's us a Private investigator with two prosthetic arms.....Keep these docs coming, I feel like im reading Vonnegut with all these crazy characters.
ahhhhh dude get a new mic
whale9418 yeah it's the bad kind of low fi
@@user-os8sq3uh4n more like NO fi
This is an absolutely amazing video! I’d known of the accident but I never knew the story behind the car, and I love that it’s still out there somewhere.
yeah, cool
Hmm, it's one thing to pronounce the name of the car company incorrectly, but you should get it right when you're talking about the man. See every doc about Andrew Carnegie for examples.
Porsche is a Two-Syllable Word™
The car company and the man, Ferdinand Porsche, are both pronounced the same way. Duh.
Yes, I know. I was trying to be constructive in my criticism. It's one thing to say "hey my pronunciation of a car company is wrong, but that's how we say it in , so deal with it", it's another thing to talk about a specific individual, and pronounce their name wrong.

Gotcha.
Anyone else here from TikTok? Lmao
Jacob Rodriguez NO..
Good job Roman! I found this video very informative, keep it up! I appreciate how you weave together your visuals to truly tell a story.
I love these vids, especially if they're long. I actually watch as much as I listen, and they're great in the hour I have to relax before going to work.
Keep it up, Roman.
I love these stories, and this one was so entertaining! I don't mind them being long, I listen to them while I'm driving. Thanks for another super entertaining tale and I can't wait for the next one!
The rear axle that was long lost (stolen) has again surfaced
I had no idea that George Barris was so deeply embedded into the mystery/curse of James Dean and Little Bastard. Great story Roman. Keep these up!
You did awesome with Lee iacocca. This one is great as well. I didn't watch the others only because they're not really my subject matter. Great job
This is along the lines of "Eastern Airlines fight 401". Parts used from a tragedy that came back to haunt others. Good coverage.
Roman, I love these videos!!! I would actually be kinda sad if they were made any shorter. Keep up the brilliant work! Can't wait for the next story!
it's long, but I didn't ever hear a part of the story that didn't need to be there. I really enjoy these stories as well and I hope you keep doing them!
I like the stories. I don't think you should worry about the length as long as the content is good. This one was excellent.
Roman you rock. This shows RCR Has a deep bench. Keep them coming!
